Dragon Devourer System

Note: The main character is male. The novel is written in 3rd person. I never could guess life would be this terrifying. In the past, I was a high-ranked adventurer looking for riches and fame, fulfilling every request of the Adventurer's Guild and gaining a substantial prestige. I still remember the old legends from my hometown, the legends of dragons, absolute beings who even the gods fear. And now, it seems I somehow got reincarnated into a dragon. ------------------------------------------------------------- The artwork does not belong to me and if anyone knows the artists of this work, please let me know and I will credit them. A Dragon Sorcerer

"Yaaaawwnn" Jacob White stretched out his limbs and opened his eyes, only to find himself in a small glade in the middle of a lush forest. Tall trees surrounded him, causing the glade to be shrouded in shadows.

Of course, the forest was the Abyssal Forest, and he was actually lying in the green grass alongside his smaller sized sister.

'It seems I passed out while reading about the bloodline… No wonder-' Jacob yawned once more. 'The whole process was very tiring, and after that, the System expects me to read all of these screens. Does it want me to be stronger or to learn about the dragon's race history?'

Because of all the previous efforts and the bizarre things that happened in the Divine Dragon Bloodline Pool, the young white dragon was feeling very grumpy today, his mood to be filled with dark clouds.

However, there was a silver line. Since waking up, he has been experiencing an odd presence running through his body. It was an effect he did not feel before passing out, which made him think that it was somehow related to his new divine bloodline.

Thinking along these lines, he mentally called out the System in his mind, causing a blue Status Screen to appear in front of his eyes.

[STATUS]

[User: Jacob Dragonson]

[Race: Dragon (Junior)]

[Age: 11 days (Newborn)]

[Level: 21]

[Mana Capacity: 200/200]

[*Magic Power: 2]

[Affinity: Annihilation]

[*Strength: 30]

[*Agility: 30]

[*Toughness: 30]

[Bloodline: Eldritch Dragon Bloodline]

[Bloodline's Purity: 1%]

[*10 Free Stats Points Available]

Jacob noticed that the Status's screen remained unchanged, with the exception of two new sections.

A new section called Bloodline and Bloodline Purity appeared, informing him of his current bloodline and its purity.

Jacob reasoned that because his current bloodline's purity was one percent, a higher purity would imply that the divine bloodline would be stronger, but this was all his guess.

He also wondered if increasing the purity of his bloodline would cause changes in his body, such as an increase in stats or the unlocking of powerful magic.

This reminded him that he had not checked the Magic Panel in the System since he leveled up and obtained an affinity.

Jacob wanted to check his magic right away, but he got distracted for a moment when he noticed the ten free stats points on his Status screen. The young dragon wanted to spend these points right away, before he forgot about them once more.

'The question is, how would I spend these points? Toughness sounds very appealing, but it will only turn me into a wall, and a wall can only get damage. Agility will provide me with a higher mobility, giving me an advantage in both attack and defense…'

'But that is all. If I get a hit, I could die, and my damage will not be able to keep up with my attack speed. I am also not sure about what my magic does to think about increasing the mana power, but man, being able to upgrade my mana capacity would be amazing.'

Jacob White contemplated all of his options, their advantages and disadvantages, before making a decision. It was important, as these stats points would set him on a specific growth path. He wanted to make a good decision so he would not regret it later.

After weighing his options for a few minutes, he finally reached a decision. He would invest three points into Magic Power, five points into Strength, two points into Agility and a single point into Toughness. It left him with the following stats.

[STATUS]

[User: Jacob Dragonson]

[Race: Dragon (Junior)]

[Age: 11 days (Newborn)]

[Level: 21]

[Mana Capacity: 200/200]

[*Magic Power: 5]

[Affinity: Annihilation]

[*Strength: 35]

[*Agility: 32]

[*Toughness: 31]

[Bloodline: Eldritch Dragon Bloodline]

[Bloodline's Purity: 1%]

Instead of concentrating all of his points in a single stat, as many legendary heroes in tales did, he wanted a more balanced set up. His principal goal was to become a dragon sorcerer, as he had always dreamed of being a mage, therefore, he used three points in magic power.

It was fewer points than those used in strength, but since magic power had only recently become available, he reasoned that it was possible that the growth of magic power was higher than any other stats.

If he kept leveling up, the new additions would make his magic stronger than any beast's magic. However, since he had not yet checked his magic, Jacob thought it was risky to invest all of his free points in magic power.

He could wait to test his magic before using his points, because if his intuition was correct, these free points would not be the first ones to arrive. And he was right. In the future, the System would give him more quests with rewards which would make him stronger.

On the other hand, he used most of the free points in strength to make his attacks more lethal. He still remembered the first time he fought as a dragon, when he was not strong enough and caused the Horned Elnias to escape from his grasp.

His goal was to increase his strength so that he could avoid similar situations in the future. With a greater strength, his claws and his bites would be deadly for any beast unlucky enough to come into contact with him.

At last, the reason for slightly increasing his agility and toughness was obvious. Increasing his speed gave him a greater mobility, allowing him to easily avoid attacks. And in the case he was hit, the toughness of his scales would protect him from any potentially fatal move.

Now that he used all his stat points, Jacob willed for the Status screen to switch to the Magic Panel screen. It did not take long for his stats screen to vanish, to be replaced by a large screen with the name "Dragon's Magic" written in white letters on the top.

After the improvement in stats, he already could see himself toppling mountains and kidnapping beautiful women.

Now all that remained was to discover what his magic was capable of. After all, Annihilation sounded like an extremely powerful magical affinity.

Hello! Here you have the new chapter. It is a bit later than usual as I was busy with a few things today.
