Team Black

"Good luck, you're going to need it." Bardock said with a smirk as he saw me preparing leave.

He's had that smirk on his face ever since I told him that I was the one assigned to supervise and train the Prince. Even as a child, Prince Vegeta had a reputation for being a... absolute pain in the ass. So when he heard I was going to train him, he laughed for a solid five minutes.

He laughed even harder when I had told him the name that the King had assigned to us.

Apparently, the dickhead saw that "Team Black" was the name I had given to Saiyan Command on my way back, and sent a message that it was now the official name assigned to my new team.

And although my mother and the members of Team Bardock didn't really care all that much about the name, they had expressed their sympathies for me being the trainer of Vegeta!

How many people did that prideful little shit annoy for him to have this much of a shit reputation?! He's two goddamn years old!

"Enough, Bardock, he has enough on his plate as it is without you adding to it." Said Gine, giving Bardock a pointed stare before giving me a hug. "Have a good day training your new team, Sweetie."

"Thanks, mom." I replied with a nod, returning her embrace before heading off to the palace.

Hopefully this won't end up as bad as I'm expecting.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Upon arriving in the Royal Courtyard, I see Paragus and Broly already there waiting for me.

"You're early." I called out to them.

"I believe in punctuality." Paragus said with no nonsense tone. "I hope that you'll find Broly ready for anything you throw at him."

I look at his son, who just stares up at me with a curious expression.

"I'm sure that he will live up to my expectations."

Ain't that the understatement of the century...

"There's also another matter that I wish to address." Paragus said, causing me to raise an eyebrow as I try and think of what he could possibly want to talk about.

"And what's that?" I asked.

To my surprise, the Colonel kneeled down and bowed his head to me. Even kneeling this man was taller than me, so it made for a pretty comical sight.

"Thank you for saving my son. If there's anything at all I can do to repay you, please tell me."

Geez. Besides Goku and Broly, I didn't think any other Saiyan could show humility. Then again, Paragus did actually care for son at first. Enough to stand up to the King.

But honestly, even though he was doing all of this, there wasn't really anything I could think of that I wanted from the man.

"Please stand, Colonel Paragus. I'm not the King nor the Prince. Having someone bow to me makes me uncomfortable." I told him, awkwardly rubbing the back of my neck. "Besides, I don't really need anything."

He looked up with widened eyes before standing up on his feet a few seconds later.

"I see. But there must be something I can do to repay you!" He exclaimed, apparently not wanting to leave today without giving me something.

I let out a sigh and rack my mind up and down for something I could get some use out of.

"...What about that ship?" I asked, snapping my fingers in realization.

"Ship?" He asked back with a confused expression.

"Yeah, the ship that you assigned for me to use during my first time off world." I reminded him.

He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. "That ship? That's what you want? Are you certain?" He asked as if it was the simplest thing I could've asked for.

To be honest, I'm almost positive that it probably was the simplest thing. He is a Colonel after all. I wouldn't be surprised if he could give me a ship the size of Frieza's, but that isn't really what I need at the moment.

"I'm sure." I nodded.

He seems to be dissatisfied with my answer, but he sighed and nodded his head.

"Alright then." He said before clenching his fist and holding it up to about his chest area. "I'll have my men construct a landing pad near your residence and make sure that our scientists upgrade the ship with the latest technology before sending it to you."

"I'm sorry, what?" I asked.

"I'll be sure that everything is done before the week is done."

"No, wait, that isn't what I--"

"Good day, Zyleth. I'll leave you to your training."

"No, no, no, wa-- And he's gone..." I muttered as he flew away.

Say what you want about the man, you can't say he's ungrateful...

Looking back, I see Broly looking at me with the same curious expression.

"Hey." I greet the child with a smile.

He nods his head at me and continues to stare. Before I could speak to him further, I hear footsteps walking towards us.

"Presenting the son of His Majesty, Prince Vegeta!" Some skinny looking Saiyan announced as the Prince of Pride made his way to the courtyard.

Broly and I look at them, then at each other, then back towards them again.

"You're not going to announce that shit every time he comes out here, are you?" I asked with a blank stare.

"I beg your pardon? You'll be wise to respect those of a higher standing. There's no telling what they would do if--"

I raise my index and middle fingers in the shape of a gun and blast him into the wall.

"Stuck up, loud mouthed prick, I'll show you what my middle finger can do." I muttered with gritted teeth.

Broly seemed shocked by my actions, which isn't all that surprising. He's pretty tame for Saiyan standards. No, what is surprising is the smirk on the Prince's face when I just blasted away his attendant.

"Don't like him that much?" I asked.

"No." He replied concisely.

All things considered, this wasn't a bad first meeting for Team Black.
