The walls of the Haotian Sect were high and imposing, but their defense against high-level soul masters was limited. Most of the inner disciples of Haotian Sect wielded the Haotian Hammer, which lacked long-range attack capabilities, unlike the hidden weapons used by Tang San. This made it difficult for them to help defend the sect.
In just 15 minutes, the walls were breached and everyone was thrown into the battle.
The Haotian Sect had four titled Douluo within their ranks: Tang Zhen, who was at level 95, the First Elder, who was at level 93, the Second Elder, who was at level 92, and Tang Xiao, who was at level 91. Their elite strength far surpassed that of other sects. The Haotian Hammer, combined with the sect's legacy of the "Nine Absolutes of Haotian", made it almost impossible for other titled Douluo of the same rank to defeat them one-on-one.
However, the opposing force had somehow obtained information about the internal strength of the Haotian Sect and sent eight Titled Douluo, two more than originally expected.
The Titled Douluo were immensely powerful, far surpassing the threat posed by lower-level soul masters. This forced Tang Zhen and the elders to enter the fray early, lest their disciples be slaughtered.
Although Tang Zhen was only at level 95, he was especially formidable, and even typical level 96 soul masters were no match for him. However, the opposition had anticipated this and sent two level 96 titled Douluo, Qianjun and Jiangmo, to deal with him. These two wielded the supreme Dragon Staff, which in many ways was not inferior to the Haotian Hammer.
Even though Tang Zhen's mastery of the Haotian Nine Absolutes was exquisite, he was in a precarious position, struggling to fend off their coordinated attacks.
The First and Second Elders, as well as Tang Xiao, although all of them held the title of Douluo, were at a disadvantage in terms of their soul power, which only ranged from 91 to 93. Their only advantage was the power of the Haotian Hammer and the sect's secret techniques. But even that wasn't enough, as each of them faced two titled Douluo, and even though the power difference wasn't overwhelming, it was enough to keep them at bay.
In the original story, Tang Xiao used the Haotian Array to defeat three Titled Douluo at once, demonstrating his mastery of the "Nine Absolutes of Haotian". However, now that he had recently attained the title of Douluo, his strength wasn't as exaggerated.
To make matters worse for the Haotian sect, they were facing thousands of soul masters. The attacking force numbered between seven and eight thousand, including a considerable number of high-level Soul Sages and Soul Douluo, determined to leave no survivors.
Within an hour, the sect was in ruins, with flames and destruction everywhere. The sound of battle and cries of agony filled the air.
The number of fallen disciples could not be counted, but the death toll was undoubtedly high. Even the First and Second Elders, who were already old, were wounded by the relentless attacks.
Tang Zhen was under tremendous pressure. Qianjun and Jiangmo worked together seamlessly, alternating between attacking and defending. Whenever Tang Zhen attacked, one would block while the other would attack from a different angle, creating a level of difficulty even greater than fighting three level 96 titled Douluo.
Tang Xiao, on the other hand, was under slightly less pressure. At 59, he was at the peak of his physical and spiritual strength, and he could handle two Titled Douluo with relative ease. However, he lacked the strength to help others.
All around, Haotian Sect disciples were falling, their screams ringing out as more and more lost their lives. The four titled Douluo of the Haotian Sect struggled to remain calm amidst the carnage.
Suddenly, a loud bear roar pierced the air as the First Elder's Haotian Hammer collided with a titled Douluo whose spirit was a demon bear. The First Elder activated his seventh spirit ability, the True Body of the Tool Spirit, while his opponent unleashed the True Body of his Martial Spirit.
The massive Haotian Hammer struck the towering Demon Bear, and for a moment, the two appeared to be on equal footing. However, just as the First Elder began to tire, a Ghost Leopard Douluo took advantage of his weakened state and slashed at him, leaving two deep wounds, one of which severed his left arm.
Sensing an opportunity, the Ghost Leopard and Demon Bear Douluo launched a relentless attack to finish off the First Elder.
Seeing this, Tang Zhen activated his ninth spirit ability, parried Qianjun and Jiangmo's attacks, and rushed to help the First Elder.
However, Qianjun and Jiangmo quickly chased after him. At that moment, it became clear that the opposing forces had planned this. The Demon Bear and the Ghost Leopard Douluo abandoned the First Elder and focused their attacks on Tang Zhen, forcing him to face four Titled Douluo at once.
The battle, which had been even until now, quickly deteriorated. Tang Zhen, the spiritual leader of the Haotian Sect, was overwhelmed by the combined attack of the four Titled Douluo. The Ghost Leopard Douluo's speed allowed for multiple surprise attacks, leaving Tang Zhen with numerous injuries in a short period of time.
Meanwhile, the Second Elder was also severely injured due to his advanced age.
Seeing the dire situation, with his sect on the verge of collapse, Tang Zhen decided to unleash his final trump card. Several spirit rings on his Haotian Hammer exploded in a flash, causing the hammer to grow rapidly until it was as large as a mountain. Sensing the critical moment, Qianjun and Jiangmo activated their ninth spirit abilities - All Living Beings and Proof of Bodhi - causing their dragon staffs to expand, their power accompanied by the sound of dragon roars.
In the sky, the colossal Haotian Hammer collided with the two dragon staffs, causing shockwaves to ripple through the air. Qianjun and Jiangmo were pushed back, blood dripping from the corners of their mouths.
But Tang Zhen had suffered even more. His aura began to weaken, and Ghost Leopard Douluo seized the opportunity to launch another attack, severely wounding him.
At this point, three of the Haotian Sect's four titled Douluo were seriously injured, and one was slightly injured. The sect was now on the brink of destruction.
