"Good job you two, you manage to defeat this ape." Xu Jinshan praised as he suddenly appeared beside them.

"Although tired, you did defeat it which proves that you've grown so much in your combat prowess since the last time you fought in the spirit arena."

He looked at the sky to that the sun has just set, Xu Jinshan waved his hand and carried the two exhausted girls, and went back to the well.

"You two can rest first, I'm gonna cook some food first." He said as he went outside to catch food, Xu Shuang quickly meditated to restore her energy faster.

After a while Xu Jinshan came back with a big goat in his hands, he dropped it onto the ground and was about to process it when Xu Shuang stood up and said.

"Grandpa Jin, let me do it, the food that you cook tastes horrible." Xu Shuang mercilessly exposed Xu Jinshan's wound and ruthlessly rubbed salt and lime all over it.

"Okay," Xu Jinshan groaed with twitching lips as he sat down to contemplate about life where his granddaughter mocked his cooking.

Ye Lingling laughed at Xu Jishan which caused him to be even more down, Xu Shuang quickly processed all the meat of the goat and started roasting it on a big fire.

And under the careful treatment of Xu Shuang, the roasted goat meat became golden brown with crispy skin and juicy meat.

Then she divided the meat between all three of them, and with a loud crunching sound the three began to eat, not having time to pay attention to anything else but the food in front of them.

"Crunch* Xu Shuang, the food you cook is really delicious." Ye Lingling commented as she took a big bite of the meat in front of her without caring for her image.

"It's just a little better than mine." Xu Jinshan boasted shamelessly as he also took a big bite of the meat.

"Your so shameless Grandpa Jin, my cooking clearly left yours several streets behind." Xu Shuang laughed.

"Hmph, quickly finish eating and go to sleep, there are still 5 spirit beasts left to fight, and the last day will be for you to rest and adjust your state to the maximum." Xu Jinshan scolded with a stern face.

Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling just laughed and quickly finished all their food and rested in their room, Xu Jinshan watched all of this with a smile, he then looked at the stars as he prayed.

And just like that in the blink of an eye, 5 days already passed and there was only one day left for the trial to start, at this moment Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling were resting on a wide clearing beside a huge lake.

In the huge lake beside them, a huge snake spirit beast is floating with all kinds of shattered wounds on its body that can be seen to be dealt with by something heavy.

"Good, with the experience of dealing with ten-thousand-year spirit beasts in the past few days, I can at least say that you can fight the spirit beast that you will encounter in the trial." Xu Jinshan praised as he appeared beside them while looking at the snake spirit beast in the lake.

"Can we go back now? I really would like a hot bath." Xu Shuang bemoaned with Ye Lingling nodding in agreement, although there was a huge lake in front of them, they didn't want to bathe there.

Who knows what's inside the waters of the lake, so it's better to return to the well and take a hot bath so that they can relax for the trial tomorrow.

And after that one day of relaxation quickly passed and it was time for Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling to take on the trial given to them.

With a flash of blinding white light, a white portal slowly opened in front of their house inside the well, the three can't see what was on the other side, so they stood in front of it and said their goodbyes.

Xu Jinshan hugged the two as he whispered. "Take care of yourselves inside there okay? It doesn't matter if you lose the inheritance, as long as you two are alive I'm happy with that."

"Okay, Grandpa Jin, I promise that I'll ensure our safety in this trial and won't risk our lives." Xu Shuang promised as she also hugged Xu Jinshan.

"I'll make sure to heal all our wounds so you don't have to worry about that, Grandpa Jin." Ye Lingling said as her eyes looked at the white portal.

"Hahahaha, okay, I won't hold you girls anymore, be sure to pay attention to your safety inside, alright?" Xu Jinshan laughed as he rubbed the two girls' heads and watched them go through the white portal.

After going through the portal, Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling went back to the white space they were in before, and in front of them are two more portals, one purple, and one green.

"I guess the two portals are for you and me, the purple one is mine and the green one is yours." Xu Shuang reckoned as she looked at the two portals.

"And the spirit beast trials should be on the other side of those portals." Ye Lingling added after making a quick observation.

"Well, which one should we first go in?" Ye Lingling asked Xu Shuang as she stared at the two portals.

" Let's do yours first, since it would be better if you get an upgrade before we fight mine." Xu Shuang answered as she pulled Ye Lingling through the green portal.

And with a space-warping sight that forced them to close their eyes, and the next moment they're already inside a forest with sunlight shining through the leaves.

They then received some information that told them that the spirit beast for Ye Lingling is in the center of this forest.

Xu Shuang quickly possessed their martial spirits in case something dangerous is nearby, and sure enough, five wind baboons pounced out of the covers of the trees as they waved their sharp claws at Ye Lingling.

"Don't even think about it." Xu Shuang sneered as she waved her hammer and hit all the baboons straight to their chest causing them to collapse on themselves, the baboons let out a cry of pain before collapsing on the ground and releasing white spirit rings.

"Be careful Lingling, we just entered the forest and there are already spirit beasts attacking us, let's explore the surroundings first and try to find your spirit beast."

Ye Lingling nodded as they carefully explored the surroundings to see in which direction the center of this forest is.

And after walking around for a while they found the direction to the center although a few spirit beasts attacked them while exploring which Xu Shuang promptly killed in a few swings.

"Let's head into the center of the forest to see what spirit beast is your trial." Xu Shuang said while walking toward the center of the forest.
