Frustrated Tang San

Inside the dean's office, Flender is sitting behind a desk with stacks of papers on top of it, although the academy has become bigger so does the paperwork needed to be done every day.

He can't be like at the old Shrek academy where there were only a few students every year and the paperwork was little as well, he even had the time to spare to run a small spirit tool shop.

Flender sighed when he remembered the days he had so much free time on his hands, but nonetheless, he enjoyed the current atmosphere of the lively Shrek Academy rather than the previously deserted academy.

Looking at the seven colorful masks on the wall, he smiled proudly thinking of the Seven Shrek Devils, they can be said to be his greatest students in this lifetime.

Just then, a knock sounded on the door interrupting his thoughts, Flender raised his head and shouted.

"Come in!"

The door opened and Yu Xiaogang walked in with heavy strides and a frown on his face, Flender stood up from his seat and asked.

"What's wrong, Xiaogang?"

Although Yu Xiaogan's frowning face is not much different from his usual indifferent face, as a long-time friend, Flender can still spot some clues about this friend of his.

Yu Xiaogang didn't know how to explain to Flender, should he tell him that he caused Ning Rongrong to quit the team?

That would be extremely stupid, but how else could he tell Flender what happened?

After hearing it for the second time, Flender's body stood straight from the chair like he was struck by lightning upon hearing those words.

"How could Ning Rongrong leave Shrek?!"

" I don't know, she just came up to me this morning and said that she will be leaving Shrek." Yu Xiaogang said indifferently, lying with a straight expression.

"There must be a misunderstanding somewhere. Wait for me here!" After saying that Flender possessed his martial spirit and flew out of the room through the window.

Yu Xiaogang had no time to stop Flender, as he could only watch Flender leave with an ugly expression.

What will Flender think of me when he finds out that I forced Ning Rongrong to leave Shrek? I can only hope that Ning Rongrong already left Shrek's vicinity.

Unfortunately for Flender, he didn't find Ning Rongrong around the vicinity of Shrek Academy, he can only return to the room empty-handed.

"Gather up the Shrek team, I have something to announce," Flender said and went out of the window again towards the training ground.

As the Six Shrek monsters gathered at the training ground with Flender, Yu Xiaogang, and Liu Erlong.

"Okay, since everyone is here it's time to announce some news." Flender solemnly said with a frown.

Oscar looked around for a bit as if he was looking for someone then he raised his hand and asked.

"Dean, Ning Rongrong is not here yet, do you want me to go look for her?"

"No need, Ning Rongrong is the focus of this announcement, now sit down and listen carefully."

Oscar sat down with a bit of trepidation.

"As I said, today's announcement will make the Shrek Seven Devils incomplete."

Flender's words were like a bomb exploding in Oscar's mind, he already knew what caused the Shrek Seven Devils to be incomplete.

The others were shocked and confused as to why Flender said such words, Xiao Wu then raised her hand to ask.

"What does the dean mean by saying that the Shrek Seven Devils have become incomplete?"

"All of you should have noticed by now that Ning Rongrong is missing amongst everyone here, right?"

"The reason for this is, just yesterday Ning Rongrong left Shrek Academy for unknown reasons."

The rest of the people here were shocked with the exceptions of Flender, Oscar, Yu Xiaogang, and Tang San.

"With her leaving the team, we can only wait for the next competition before we have any hopes to ever win the championship."

"And it's not like the chances of winning this competition are high either." Flender sighed thinking of Xu Shuang who seemed to be able to crush anything with one force.

Then after a few words of consolation and comfort Flender dismissed everyone to prepare for the matches tomorrow.

Next Day....

Heaven Dou Spirit Arena is bustling with people as it's a new day for a new round of qualifying competition.

Xu Shuang and the Royal Combat Team arrived early at the arena and headed straight for their room to watch the matches.

The matches started with a brand new drawing that matched different academies to other academies.

The first few matches were a bit boring as the ones fighting were third-rate and second-rate academies.

"Next match! Shrek Academy Vs Elephant Armored Academy!"

The announcer announced the next match waking Xu Shuang from her nap from the boring matches.

She got up and went to the window to watch the next match intently, she was curious about this match-up, about whether the Shrek Academy could break through the defense of Elephant Armored Academy.

Once both teams were on the stage, the Shrek team faced great pressure looking at their opponents who were at least 2 meters tall and weighed at least 200 kg each.

Looking at Huyan Li in front of the Elephant Armored team Xu Shuang had an interesting thought.

In the manhua, this guy had a crazy 4th spirit skill that let him temporarily absorb those who had the same martial spirit as him and upgrade his spirit power, he even became a spirit saint for a short time after using that spirit skill.

I'm just curious if he still had that spirit skill in this world or is it just a Manhua thing?

"The match begins!"

Along with the shout of the referee, the two teams instantly summoned and possessed their martial spirits.

Tang San's first spirit ring lit up and blue-silver grass grew from the area beneath the Elephant Armored Team and bound them.

Due to absorbing plant spirit rings rich in life force and tenacity, Tang San's Blue Silver Grass is tough and tenacious making it hard for opponents at the same level to break free from them.

"It's now! Attack!"

With Tang San's shout, Dai Mubai, Tai Long, Ma Honjun, Huang Yan, and Zhu Zhuqing rushed forward to attack the Elephant Armored Team.

Huyan Li saw this and laughed, "Other teams would be smart and keep their distance when facing us, and yet, you dared to approach us on your own?"

With a loud shout, all of the first spirit rings of the Elephant Armored Team shined at the same time, their already big figures became bigger and their bodies shined as their defenses increased

Except for the attacks of Dai Mubai and Tai Long which inflicted some damage, the rest of the attacks had no effect on Huyan Li and his teammates.

Then their second spirit rings shone at the same time as their muscles bulged and shined increasing their strength allowing them to break free from the Blue Silver Grass that binded them.

Xu Shuang shook her head upon seeing this and stood up from her chair, Ye Lingling looked at her and asked.

"Are you not interested in watching anymore?"

"I've seen all that I wanted to see, it's much better to adjust my state and prepare for the tournament in Spirit City."

Hearing her words, Ye Lingilng also stood up and left with Xu Shuang, the other members stayed until the end of the match before also leaving the arena.

Back at the Heaven Dou Academy, Xu Shuang nodded when she heard that the Elephant Armored Academy won the match due to Shrek having few spirit masters that could break through their defense.

"At this rate, Shrek Academy won't even make it past the qualifying rounds and can only try in the next tournament, right?"

Tang San punched a tree in frustration and continued to beat the tree until it broke, venting his frustration.

Tang San then sat down and sighed, he summoned the Clear Sky Hammer and looked at it deeply.

"If I chose to attach spirit rings to the Clear Sky Hammer and become a power-type spirit master, would the ending of the match be any different?"

"Third Brother! So, you are hiding here, everyone's been looking for you." A shout interrupted Tang San's thoughts, he looked back and saw that it was Xiao Wu.

He stood up with a small smile, rubbed Xiao Wu's head, and said, " Let's go back, we can't keep the others waiting for too long."
