Living in the forest part 4

I spent a year mastering the ability of absolute ice and filling the orb of vitality with spirit essence gained by subduing spirit beasts. Today marked the end of my second year within the forest and my official breakthrough into rank 70.

about half a year ago I broke through rank 60 and was able to reinforce and cleanse my internal organs when I used the spirit essence from the orb. Today I will again emerge myself within the orb of vitality to consolidate the last 10 levels and finally age my third and fourth spirit rings.

Since I haven't used the vitality within the orb to age any rings for over a year, the stockpile of spirit essence was enough to age two rings.

First I decided to do as tradition demands and consolidate my foundation since the last time. I sat in front of the orb and allowed a tendrall to once again envelop me in rich vital spirit essence. After a while all the muscles in my body were cleansed of impurities and I once again had to take a bath. With my muscles compacting to form a nice lithe frame I looked beautiful. I was eight years old and I looked like a work of art.

After an hour admiring the changes done to my body I once again entered my inner world. Today I would age my 3rd and 4th rings. With a quick mental comand two streams of energy exited the orb of vitality and connected with my third and fourth rings.

After each ring reached a deep red color indicating the 500,000 year age mark my other rings were at I cut of the energy flow. There was still some energy on account of siphoning energy from higher level spirit beasts when out practicing my control over absolute ice, but I left it untouched as I was planning on storing up enough energy to make sure that my ninth spirit ring reached at least a million once I acquired it.

I sat down in front of my 3rd spirit ring and immersed myself into the skill box before looking through all the options available. once I picked my ability I sat back and waited for the changes to show. slowly ripples started forming on the water and my entire inner world started to tremble before something in my head clicked. there weren't any physical changes on the surface but I could feel my control within my inner world strengthening. After a while I knew what had happened.

By picking kamui as my 3rd ability my inner world became its own separate dimension and the trembling was its manifestation outside the current realm of douluo dalu. now I could physically store things within my dimension and bring others into my inner world. My inner world also started to produce its own spirit energy due to having four 500,000 year rings constantly emitting spirit energy. If I were to constantly fill the orb of vitality with essence then eventually the vitality passively produced from the orb will make the environment rich with spirit energy which is perfect for cultivation. With the creation of my own dimension comes the perk of having a vast supply of readily available spirit essence. My reserves used to rely on taking in spirit energy from the world around me before slowly converting it into my own until I reach the limit of my storage capacity but now I'm taking in energy and sending it to my dimension where it readily becomes a part of me and is stored away for later with no restrictions on the amount I can store.

Since my dimension is linked to my soul rather than my dojutsu I do not need to blind myself using my eyes as a medium for the spatial rift formed when I exit or enter my dimension. this not only makes my travel instantaneous but also safer for me in general since I don't need to worry about leaving behind any body parts.

while getting used to phasing out of reality in battle will take some getting used to, it won't be too hard to master this ability with the ability of my dojutsu to see in a perfect 360 degree vision. I will be able to perceive a threat before it even has a chance to touch me.

After settling down my excitement I quickly entered my dimension and looked upon my 4rth spirit ring before selecting the spirit ability I wish to yield from it.

After the selection I saw the ring release thousands of flower petals that quickly formed hundreds of tiny islands covered in sakura trees. it was beautiful since I finally had a place to lay down within my inner world without getting wet. I mean I know everyone looks better when their wet but its not really comfortable when you're standing amongst ice crystals exuding cold energy. Even if my absolute ice essence gave me immunity to the cold its still uncomfortable to be cold and wet.

After taking another look around I exited my dimension and found myself in my underground training field. with a thought and an exorbitant amount of spirit energy i slowly encircled the entire underground cavern and brought it into my dimension connecting it with the center most island in my dimension that was only just big enough to house the whole underground layer after collapsing in a heap without a care for my appearance I stared sweating like crazy.

" that took way more out of me than I thought it would."

with another pant and a groan I sat up

"ugj next time I'll just spend a couple hours recreating it in my dimension rather than performing large scale spacial manipulation."

after making my way towards the hot bathing area I created I submerged myself in the water and shouted out to the heavens

"god I never want to do that again."
