Chapter 20

A few days ago, Mu Hanxia rented an apartment. It was the smaller room of a two-bedroom suite, with a couple living next door. Being new to the area, she naturally conducted herself with courtesy and humility, and they all got along quite well. Except at night.

That night, Mu Hanxia was sleeping soundly when she suddenly awoke. She heard the rhythmic "squeak squeak" of a rocking bed coming from next door. Silently, she took her pillow and pressed it over her ears.

Moonlight bathed the head of her bed like water, casting a serene glow. Although she wasn't quite accustomed to everything about this 'drifting life' in the north: renting, climate, the **** through the walls... her heart still harbored a vague sense of longing.

In the stillness of the night, she found herself thinking of Lin Mochen again.
