C3 ~ The Awakening Ceremony #1

Xiao Fang raised his head from the toilet sink and looked into the mirror on the wall.

After Xiao Lijuan managed to get his depressed self out of the bed, she insisted he at least was his face cause in her words, he looked like someone who's girlfriend just ran away with his best friend.

Xiao Fang pushed his wet hair out of his face. His appearance in this world haven't changed a bit from in his own world. His eyes were still black which he had come to find out was the color of every human's eyes until they awaken a talent and begin to cultivate unless in special cases like Xiao Lijuan who's eyes and hair were colored from birth because of her potential talent.

"Somehow, I have memories of this world but I don't have parents. It seems I was found in a trash truck. A fucking trash truck! That old man that calls himself god actually took me from my comfortable bed and throw me in a fucking trash truck!"

Xiao Fang couldn't help the anger forming in his heart. He felt like punching the mirror infront of him into million of tiny bits

"Elder brother Fang, come out already or we'll be late for the awakening ceremony!" Xiao Lijuan sweet voice called from the bedroom.

Xiao Fang sighed

"Forgot it" he said and grabbed a towel from the towel rack and expeditiously dried his hair. He blindly reached for the shelf to his left and grabbed a comb

Only when his fingers touch the hot surface of the comb did he look away from the mirror.

"What the hell?" he asked as he examined the comb. It was red in color and gave off a faint red glow. The surface was warm like it's been sitting on under the sun

"Brother Xiao, quickly come out already, father have sent a mail to get us!" Xiao Lijuan urgently called again

"I'm coming" Xiao Fang didn't have time to examine the weird comb more and used it instead. However, immediately the comb ran through his hair, his previously wet hair dried up and became soft and slick.

Ciao Fang started at the mirror in disbelief. He could even swear his hair became a dark black

"This must be the comb I got from that damn god. Who knew it'll have this kind of effect"

However, he didn't have time to continue experimenting with the hair comb and quickly grabbed a random hair pack and rushed out of the bathroom

"What took you so long?" Xiao Lijuan asked immediately he walked through the door

"Nothing, nothing. Let's hurry up and go down" Xiao Fang replied pulling his hair into a ponytail

"Uh, didn't you was your hair?" Xiao Lijuan asked looking at his already dried hair

Xiao Fang chuckled awkwardly

"We better get going before your dad comes up here himself" he said and that seems to snap Xiao Lijuan attention back to more pressing matters

"Oh right, let's go" she said and they both rushed out of the room.

The Xiao Sect biannual awakening ceremony was one of the talks of the city and all teenagers of age fourteen attend it. Like the others before it, second and last awakening of the year gathered a lot of people from far and wide

"The awakening ceremony is a very big deal as it will determine ones future. In a way, it's a kind of life and death situation. On this day, many teenagers who haven't awakened any talent gather at the Xiao Sect Ceremony Hall. A few big shots are usually always present too to see if there would be any extraordinary talents awaken.

Naturally, if you awaken an extraordinary talent, you have the chance of catching the attention of the higher ups and even becoming a personal disciple of an elder!

It wasn't a wonder why the awakening ceremony was such a big deal."

Xiao Fang walked along side Xiao Lijuan through the empty hall leading to the ceremony field.

"Everyone must already be in the ceremony field. We're late because of you!" Xiao Lijuan said in dissatisfaction, he beautiful face forming a frown. She had changed her dress to an elegant blue Hanfu that match her hair which was pulled up into a ponytail

"Sorry." was Xiao Fang's reply. He had changed his robe to a black one with gold linings

Soon they got to the field and just as Xiao Fang suspected, it was half filled with people both old and young all here for the awakening ceremony

"Let's go" Xiao Lijuan pulled him by the hand away from the entrance of the field and to the upper stage of the field. This is were the big shots of the Xiao Sect, the Sect master and other elders stay for any occasion

Since Xiao Lijuan was the second princess of the Xiao Sect her father being the sect master himself, she didn't have to sit with the other disciples.

However, Xiao Fang didn't have any right to be sitting on there. He was unknown to everyone in the Ciao Sect and only a few people on the stage knew a little about him. Naturally, his appearance with the famous princess of frost caused confusion and people began to talk.

"Who is that?" a young man asked

"I don't know but he came in with the second sect princess." another replied

"Oh my god, he's sitting with the sect master! He must be very important!" a young lady exclaimed in shock

"He's actually quite good looking. Is he the sect master's illegitimate son?" a girl asked her friend

"Shut up. Do you know the consequences of what you're saying?! You're lucky no one else heard you!" an elderly lady snapped at her

Of course the people below the stage weren't the only once confused and in shock. Even the second elder brother of the Xiao Sect who always had an indifferent look on his face looked suprise

Just who was this young man what what gave him the right to sit by the sect master's side??
