A SHAPE SHIFTING MISSION

"Why are there so many grade C missions?" Robert asked with a surprised expression on his face.

"Many soldier ranked soldiers do only grade D or even grade E missions around here. It's only a few that are confident in there strength takes on grade C missions, This makes grade C missions to be more plenty than the rest" The man said with a discouraged expression on his face. Only him knows what was currently on his mind.

"Ok. So senior, could you please recommend a mission for us?" Robert asked again with a light smile. But this smile made his face look a bit weird since he has a tough looking face.

"Sure" The man said before he quickly picked out a scroll among the others and briefly opened it.

"I think you guys should pick this one" The man finally said as he handed the scroll to Pearce. As soon as Pearce got hold of it, he began to read through the scroll.

The mission written on the scroll is a grade C mission that says a few monsters called 'Sirens' is spotted at the western part of Thomas District. A group of soldiers should search for there possible hideout and eliminate them. The reward of this mission is 5000 Battle points and 300 merit points, and the duration for this mission from when the mission began is five days.

"Sirens? What's that?" Robert suddenly asked with a puzzled expression on his face. When the man heard this, he pondered for a few moments before he answered.

"I think these monsters are Shape shifters. They are very deceptive in nature and are pretty ruthless. I should advice you guys to always be on guard when doing this mission"

'Shape shifters?' Pearce thought with a solemn look on his face.

"Thank you senior for your time. We will be going now" Pearce eventually said before he gestured Robert and went out if the hall.

'They didn't even ask me for my name' The man thought with a wry smile on his face as he looked at the two leaving teens.

"Captain, we have checked out all the rooms in the house" George reported with a proud look on his face. Right now, Pearce, Robert and the rest of the Monster Slayers are currently in the living room of the house the selected as their base.

"So tell me everything about this house" Pearce said with a calm look on his face.

"There are three floors in this house. The first floor is where we are now which includes the living room and the kitchen that is located at our right, The second floor consist of 6 bedrooms that each has a washroom while the last floor has only two master bedrooms with a washroom in each of them" George reported with a speed that was neither too fast nor too slow.

'Seems like the the two bedrooms in the last floor are for the Captain and Vice Captain of a group' Pearce thought as he slightly nod his head before he spoke.

"Nice work George. Now there is an announcement I would like to make"

When everyone heard this, they immediately had a curious look on there faces as they looked at Pearce. All except Robert who instead has an excited expression on his face.

"While me and Robert were at the hall that was called the 'Points Centre', we picked up a mission which we will set out for at dawn tomorrow" Pearce said with a calm look on his face.

But when the others heard this, they immediately became excited like Robert.

"What are the descriptions for the mission Captain?" Hutton suddenly asked calmly even if his eyes were as bright as stars.

"The missions says that a group of monsters called 'Sirens' were spotted at the western part of the Thomas District. What we should do is try and find there hideout and possibly eradicate them" Pearce explained as a gleam flashed past his eyes.

'I must destroy all of them even if they are currently stronger than me'

Naturally, Pearce couldn't forget about his Test mission when he got capture by the children of a Qi King Monster.

'But uptill now, I don't even know if those slabs still exist' Pearce thought again before he had a helpless smile on his face.

Right from the day Pearce woke up in the Military Special Hospital till now, although he tried to call upon those slabs every night, he wasn't even successful even as a fluke.

"Sirens? What Monsters are they" Bridget suddenly asked with her brows knitted. But before Pearce or Robert could answer her, Veronica surprisenly first them to it...

"I-I think they ar-are shape shifting monsters"

"That's right Veronica, they are indeed shape shifters. Not only that, but they very deceptive and ruthless" Pearce said with a light smile on his face.

"Then it seems we will always be on guard as soon as we leave this station" Barnes said with a solemn look in his face.

"That's right" Robert answered with a solemn also on his tough looking face.

"Ok that's it for the announcement, all of you should quickly get a room and get ready for the departure tomorrow" Pearce eventually spoke as he unhurriedly stood up.

"Yes Captain!!" The others said in unison as they stood up and followed Pearce up the stairs. But after they got to the second floor, everyone except Robert and Pearce quickly found a room for themselves and got in.

"I really anticipate for tomorrow" Robert suddenly spoke while they walked on the stairs that leads to the third floor with an excited expression on his face.

"Well don't anticipate too much or you will begin to have fantasies" Pearce said as he chuckled lightly.

"What?" Robert suddenly asked with a bewildered look ok his face. But Pearce just dodged that question as he picked a room among the two rooms in the top floor before he spoke...

"See you tomorrow Vice Captain"

"Same goes to you Captain" Robert replied right after coming back to his senses. And so, they both got into their rooms.

At the western part of the Thomas Family's District, at a dark and gloomy forest, a majestic castle that was radiating thick Dark Qi could be seen in it. There were various kinds of monsters patrolling this castle, From wild ranked ghouls to the fierce ranked Lamias and many other monster were seen patrolling the castle's surroundings.

In the castle's Throne room, three people could be seen seated in it. Two of the people were seated at the attendants chairs while the other one was seated on the throne.

The two people that were seated together seems to be boy twins since that look totally alike. With the same face structure and build while wearing the same T-shirt and jeans, but the difference between these twins were one of them has bright red hair and red eyes while the other has bright blue hair with blue eyes.

While the one on the throne was a handsome middle aged scholar. He has dark brown hair with brown eyes as he wore a brown colored robes while holding a brown colored hand fan. Although he has a charming smile on his face, he radiates a really dangerous aura as he casually blew himself with his hand fan.

"So what brought you guys here?" The handsome middle aged man suddenly asked with a charming smile on his face.

"Let me tell him" whispered the blue haired boy to his twin.

"No! I want to tell him" the red haired boy suddenly said with a unwilling look on his face.

"Sorry but I want to be the one who tells him" The blue haired boy said with a unwilling look also on his face.

"No I won't agree" The red haired boy refused to give in as he replied with an unwilling look still on his face.

While staring at the two twins that has begun to argue between themselves, The middle aged man unhurriedly said as his charming smile suddenly became cold....

"If none of you tell me why you are here in the span of three breaths, you won't ever get the chance to speak for the rest of your lives"

When the twins heard this, they immediately shuddered before they became stiff.

"Ok, you can tell him" The red haired boy suddenly said with an intense unwillingness on his face.

"Ok" The blue haired boy said with a look of victory on his face before he said again.

"We have seen the Qi Variant the Great Diviner spoke of 5 years ago"

"What!?" Exclaimed the middle aged man as the charming smile that was previously on his face was now filled with shock.

But not long after, the middle aged man tried to calm down as he asked in a trembling tone.

"Are you sure what you guys saw is really him?"

When the twins heard this, they immediately stared at each other. But they quickly put there gaze back on the middle aged man before the red haired boy said...

"The person we saw looks exactly like how the Great Diviner described. He has long silky green hairs, bright green eyes, sword shaped eyebrows and a skin that could make the human females to blush with inferiority. He even has a calm demeanor which the Great Diviner also said"

"Looks like you guys really saw him" The middle aged man's breathing became as he spoke. And with glittery eyes, he muttered.

"I have to quickly report this to Lord Dong"
