This phone call greatly alarmed Adams because if other countries succeeded in infiltrating the various bases, or worst captured them, then country A would lose a lot.

listening to his instincts adams contacted the four other bases (their number increased to 4 shortly after skinner's death) and no one said they were contacted by country B but one of the bases claimed to have been contacted by the red federation, a private military group who wanted to annex the base, they asked base numbers 3 to surrender because they had among them what they say was the savior of humanity

base number 3 naturally did not take them seriously but several clashes followed with the red federation

adams didn't know if he could believe the leaders of the other 4 bases or not but he organized an emergency meeting where he told everyone what had happened
