Diary of a Teenage Alpha

Big-hearted and witty, Samantha Kingsley is the Alpha's daughter who grew up learning to meet everyone's expectations. But Samantha isn't a pup anymore, she's in high school now, and is just about to discover that her life is written by her choices. Not by dreams, or prophecies, or even the moon goddess. This girl is going to protect the happiness of her pack and everyone she loves. Read her diary here. Updated every night. Mon-Sat Volume Synopsis VOL 1 It's the first week of school. Despite my failed attempt to make a friend, I somehow ended up surrounded by a handful of wolf classmates, got accepted by the human "cool" girls, and became a vampire's guard dog? VOL 2 I think I'm just starting to get the hang of school. From navigating school halls, new friends, vampires, and school clubs... Back home it should have been the usual drill, but things started shifting. And I urm...might have been messing around where I shouldn't. VOL 3 I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret. VOL 4 My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack. VOL 5 It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. (This might have been a very little bit my fault.) VOL 6 It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day? VOL 7 Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams. VOL 8 It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow. VOL 9 Its the last week of school and the exams are over. Its like for better or worse, all the big bad things are over now. At home, My pack works to clean up the aftermath of the rogue war, the warlock's defeat, and Jude's betrayal. In school, everyone treats me more or less the same... like a freak. Meanwhile, our school play is in dire straights, and as the Last Hurrah's debut draws near, I get ready to say good bye to Winderhill for good. VOL 10 We follow Dad to the past to stop the traitor (AKA Jude), from ever stepping into our Packlands. It would've been a good plan too - if it didn't change EVERYTHING. Now, I can't help but feel my life is ruined. Nobody understands me. Is it selfish of me to wish none of this ever happened? Why does my world have to be so magical?

FIGHT! SAM VS KILLION

The hall quietened as Ki and I took to the mat. Harvey raised a brow, but he was smiling. Mate looked only very mildly interested.

Killion sighed and began to glow. It's good that he was proactive. I was grinning like an idiot because my wolf knew it was fight time.

I let my Wolfie spam alpha control.

First minute.

Start! I attacked first combining alpha speed and strength. I had to give Ki due credit, he dodged and blocked quickly enough. He didn't expect the speed or power in each attack though, and he definitely hadn't expect it to increase with each strike. That was my main trump card at the start of most matches. No one was expecting a slender teenager to physically be able to do this, but that's only because they haven't met my Wolfie.

"I'll show you how to kick butt!" Wolfie told Ki. I kicked him hard on his behind.

He rolled forward, growling. His wolf was very much on the edge. I think he got it that if he slacked off, he was gonna get killed.

I didn't stop, heh heh. Without hesitation I struck, it looked like an open palm strike, but then the claws appeared.

"F*** not the face." Ki blocked. I kicked him in the stomach and grabbed at his heart.

As if I'd waste time scratching a face.

He didn't even have time to curse.

The whistle was blowing shrill against my wolf ears. Grrr... I could smell blood.

"F*** goddess!" Killion all but shouted.

"She's lost it." I heard someone saying, "Her wolf's taken over."

I retracted the claws and smiled.

Killion released his hand from his chest. His wound had sealed.

"My turn, goddess." Killion growled. He was glowling brightly now. He waved down Hank. The whistling stopped.

I grinned from ear to ear. I loved it best when their wolves were on the surface. Faster and faster we exchanged blows, darting towards and away.

We were panting and wet from perspiration by the 4th minute.

Oh, I'm going to pay for it when I woke up tomorrow. But I wasn't responsible like Harvey. I didn't fight to live. Nor did I live to to fight like a fight dog.

I fought to win.

I took the few steps forward, claws reappearing... Killion sprinted forward too. His frame was larger than mine. This last clash was going to hurt me too.

His eyes widened when he realised what I was about to do.

"F***! I yield! Surrender! I surrender." He was almost shouting.

The whistle was blowing. I retracted my clawes at contact, grabbing his shoulder instead of his neck and pushing myself back away from him. I flew back. He stumbled back.

I landed on my feet. He landed on his bum.

Immediately I took back the reins from Wolfie.

"Don't surrender just at the good part!" I yelled at him.

"You were going to rip out my neck, goddess!" Ki argued.

"You could've just blocked that." I argued back.

"Goddess you are a monster." Ki told me.

"Thank you." I smiled, feeling pleased.

Killion started laughing, "S***, I thought I was going to die then."

"Me too." I said.

Killion stopped laughing, now it was my turn to laugh, "Just kidding."

"Sam..." Somebody who sounded like Dad called my name.

Killion stood up on his feet, "Alpha."

I darted immediately behind Ki with the speed and agility I had no idea I still had without Wolfie power. Oh poo... I was in deep poo. (Alright, s***. Are you happy?)

Mate and Harvey came over.

"Sam, what were you doing?" Dad asked.

"Sparring." I answered.

"Yeah, we were just training." Killion smiled, "Goddess placed first in first tier."

Dad sighed, "Sam... If Ki gets hurt, your mum would be furious."

Omo. He was right, "Please don't tell mum."

"Secondly, this control technique, I told you not to use it lightly." Dad said.

Oh yeah, there was that too.

"But I needed to practice." I said.

Dad looked at me, "You aren't hurt?"

"Me fine." Wolfie said, "Mate bond power."

"You siphoned your mate's healing powers?" Dad interpreted.

I nodded, "I guess?"

That was pretty cool.

Dad was frowning, then he looked at Mate, "Every heal has a price."

Mate handed me the half bottle of water he was drinking, "Drink."

To Dad he said, "I'll take care of her."

Dad nodded, "I'll leave her to you."

Then he nodded at Hank, "Please carry on."

And then Dad returned to the bleeches on the side and I realised Dad didn't come alone. Beta Lucas and Gamma Harry, Titanium, Flynn, and the other trainers were all with him. When did they come in?

They were watching to see how the trainees were doing, checking out how the new tiering system was working out.

Hank blew his whistle, "Alright, listen up. Results for Tier 1, in order of rank placements: Sam, Tie between Luna and Beta Ki, Beta Harvey. Tier 2 ranking matches will begin shortly, all other tiers remain seated."

Ki raised his hand, "Sir, permission to refill water."

Hank paused and then agreed. I finished the last the water in my bottle.

"I'll get it." Harvey said and got up.

Savy had her bottle passed over to me. I finished that too. So thirsty.

"How much heal did she use?" Ki asked.

Bell shrugged, "Not enough that I had noticed."

Harvey returned with a carton of bottled water.

"Thanks, Harv." Rebel said. He opened one of the bottles and passed it to me. Then he opened one for himself too.

"Excuse me for asking Luna, but you need water after healing?" Harvey asked quietly.

I looked around, we were sitting a space apart from the others so I did not think anyone would hear us if we talked quietly.

"Before and during is good too." Rebel answered, he kept his voice low.

"Then our Princess need access to water too, I suppose." Harvey considered it.

"True." Killion was thinking about it now too, "Goddess, can you heal anyone else?"

Can I?

{No}

I shook my head and drank more water.

"So it just speeds up your own healing?" Killion asked.

{Yes}

I nodded.

"Well it makes sense since my wolf can use her power to dream travel, that her wolf can use mine to heal herself." Rebel said.

Eh? Rebel had been coming here on his own? It wasn't my Wolfie that dragged him over?

Killion gave me a strange look, "Who's in control now?"

"Me." I said.

"Who's me?" Killion asked with a cheeky grin.

"It's the princess." Rebel answered, getting impatient with the back and forth. He opened a third bottle and offered it to me.

I took it, but I was less thirsty now. Whether Wolfie or me, is still me.

Killion opened a new bottle and refilled Savy's bottle to pass back.

The whistle blew for the Second Tier matches to begin. The guys around me got silent. They all looked calm and almost uninterested, but I realised they were seriously observing the tier two trainees because they stopped talking, or texting, or refilling bottles.

I kind of miss sitting with the girls now. I missed their running commentary. It's boring watching with the guys.

I wanna sit with the girls and fight with the guys! Grrr... But I guess I couldn't have my cake and eat it too - why? And who came up with such a cruel idiom anyway?
