Hunter looked through the window as he felt something moving at a fast speed.
He felt his muscles tense as he prepared for a fight; it was those instincts that kept him alive in the world of Diablo. It was in his first outing that he realized, the dreamscape was nothing like the game.
When he killed the first zombie, and it fell in a heap of flesh and blood, he realized what he signed in for. It was at that moment he realized how grateful he was to become a lightning sorcerer.
There wasn't much blood when he killed demons, only scorched flesh, and twitching muscles.
It was only when he spotted a red airship that looked alien that was leaving the area that he relaxed.
It didn't take long for him to break the game when he realized it tried to simulate reality. He could do things that would be impossible for the game, but possible in real life.
Like, use telekinesis to fly, making many melee enemies only able to hit him through throwing stuff at him.
He could also mix specific skills, but only if they belonged to the same category.
But four skills were not what he expected.
Telekinesis, Teleport, Energy Shield, and Lightning Mastery.
With the use of those, he completely broke the game, which was expected entirely. It was months now since he leveled up, he was already level 98. He hadn't even been able to unlock more character slots. Even then, it took him two years to get to this level.
And what had he done with his powers?
Shocked a few bullies and travel faster to school. He could even fly, but he chose not to.
He didn't want the attention of villains; he knew they would chase him down, and he would need to do a show of strength doe the to back off. They were more trouble than they were worth.
As for the heroes, he had his doubts about them; a part of him felt they were responsible for his parent's death.
But as he traveled in the Diablo world, he noticed the burden of being one. He knew the people were simulations provided by his dreamscape, but that didn't erase their expressions of helplessness and despair on their faces.
He wasn't against being a hero, but he had no idea how to apply to be one. It wasn't like he could just charge into their new base and say, 'Hey, I want to be a Hero!'
Besides, he was stuck, his power hit a plateau, he couldn't get a new character slot, and he couldn't bring any of his items into the real world. Maybe being a hero and experiencing new things would help him go past his limits.
He had already noticed their base in 'Mount Justice' as it was dubbed after the villains attacked it. He could feel the immense use of electricity on the mountain, even if it wasn't connected to Happy Harbor.
He then noticed in the distance a massive tornado in the power plant.
He was sure the heroes would be fighting there, so he used a combination of Telekinesis, Teleport, and Lightning Mastery, to teleport to the Power Plant, one of the few places he could use this technique because he had 'marked' it.
He felt himself turn into pure electricity as he moved through the socket of his house and into the power circuit of the town.
It was only a second later that he materialized in the power plant.
The first thing he noticed was the big red robot throwing tornados. It wasn't the usual one, the one that joined the Justice League, as it had giant tubes hooking his shoulders to his gauntlets.
He then noticed the teenagers he was throwing around, a black-haired with an S in his shirt, a green-skinned redhead, and Aqualad as he didn't hide his identity and a black-haired kid with shades, he seemed much younger than the rest.
He looked on as he saw their asses kicked by the robot. He had to wonder, 'Is this a strategy?'
Maybe they wanted to get information, and they seemed to be a team, so he decided to observe for now.
Even then, he decided to prepare himself and started analyzing the robot. He could feel the electricity surging through it, and Hunter could sense two distinct power sources inside the robot.
The team didn't seem to be acting as the robot was getting away while they picked themselves up. He already had an idea in mind as he made sure no human was inside the suit.
But he needed more time. He teleported outside, in the roof of the building, and focused entirely on its circuitry.
He didn't have to worry about the robot getting away as a redheaded teenager appeared in front of it.
When the redhead was inevitably blown away, the rest of the teenagers backed him up.
He finally got a hold of its power source with his telekinesis as they talked.
The red robot said as he looked down at the teenagers, "I am waiting for a real hero."
Aqualad then said at the only girl in the group, "Read his mind. Find a weakness."
The red-head replied, confused, "I thought I wasn't supposed to do that."
The one with shades shouted exasperated, "It's okay with the bad guys!"
It was at that moment he was entirely sure they were desperate, and they didn't have any sort of strategy. So he tapped into his mana and used his maxed level Telekineses and ripped both power sources from their places and disfigured the surrounding metal.
There was only silence as the robot fell to the earth in a loud sound.
The red-headed speedster appeared next to the girl and said as he clutched her shoulder, "Good Job!"
He could see the redhead shake her head and say, " I didn't do anything."
Then Aqualad said in a severe tone, "Then who did?"
He took his chance and teleported in front of them.
-Megan POV-
She felt tense as a teenager teleported in front of them; he had black hair brown eyes and wore a black hoodie.
He said as he appeared, "I did, it seemed like you guys could use some help."
She felt Wally shift and reply, "We had it all under control."
He didn't seem convinced and replied to Wally in a tone to avoid trouble, "Just wanted to help."
Aqualad stepped in as he said, "We appreciate it. It helped prevent more damage to the area."
Robin stepped in, curious, "How did you do it?"
He seemed a bit embarrassed as he replied, "Telekinesis. Junked out the power source and twisted the circuitry. Could only do it because you guys gave me time."
That seemed to ease the tension with her teammate but not hers as she asked, "Don't you guys find it weird that a red android appeared that could generate tornados?"
The tension appeared again in their team as Kaldur replied, "Red Tornado sent us here."
Robin replied grimly, "After saying we'd be tested soon enough. Was this a test?"
The black-haired teen in front of them seemed anxious as he said, "But Red Tornado doesn't have those blue tubes! It's also a different design."
Superboy seemed pissed, "To make it convincing."
Aqualad tapped a finger to his ear where the transmitter was, "Red Tornado, your location?"
It sounded on all of their ears, "At the base. Why?"
They all seem to have sighs of relief, but she felt it was for different reasons, the black-haired teenager seemed relieved at their ease.
Aqualad seemed to explain the situation to Red Tornado, and as they awaited instructions, the black-haired teenager introduced himself, "Hey, I am Hunter."
She took her chance and introduced herself.
-Hunter POV-
He was beyond worried for a second there, in his debut as a hero, he almost destroyed a member of the league, not a great start. So he distracted himself by introducing to the rest is the heroes.
The girl introduced herself as she walked towards him, "Hi, I am Megan."
The redhead introduced himself a beat after the girl, "I am Kid Flash."
The teenager in shades said afterward, "Robin and this one is Superboy."
He looked towards the black-haired one with the S on his chest, and he seemed similar to Superman.
Aqualad introduced himself but said in a severe tone, "Batman wants to see you."
He wasn't afraid, only eager as he agreed, "So we are going to your base, the one in the mountain?"
Robin seemed curious yet again as he replied by snapping his finger as lightning hit the ground, " Its a tremendous amount of power. I can feel it."
He laughed a bit as they jumped back.
