Qi slowly seeped into Mickey's Primeval world, gentle as raindrops falling on land and sea.
Beneath the shade of a palm tree, several items came into view.
Mickey's vital Grimoire, 'Chrono Revixio,' lay open, its pages fluttering as if danced upon by the breeze.
Next to it rested the body of a pink boar, its tusks and hooves removed. The boar's body was gradually shrinking, at this rate, it would vanish completely within two months.
Atop the boar's body lay another Grimoire, the 'Blood Blade.' This grimoire fed on any type of blood - one of the reasons Mickey bought it.
A few steps from the two was a Grimoire the size of a thumb. Its cover was shimmering purple, and its pages were secured by a small lock designs.
This was the spirit realm 'Beast Taming' Grimoire.
Mickey hadn't refined it for special reasons and was just storing it in his Primeval world.
On one of the branches of the plum tree lay Mickey's spirit realm rifle.
The purple Qi that landed on these items didn't seem to have any impact and just continued to sink into the ends of Mickey's Primeval world.
As the process continued, Mickey felt an itching pain in his body and stopped pulling his Qi to the underground.
In the next moment, he willed his Qi towards a dull-yellow spiral orb that was floating in the day region of the Primeval world.
As the Qi hit the jindan, it got sucked in by the spiral, thickening the walls of the orbs.
Mickey didn't stop even when he saw the jindan shivering from the pressure.
Time passed, and the dull-yellow color of the jindan brightened a bit. That's when the boy decided to stop.
He had reached the 2nd stage of the spirit realm!
His eyes slowly opened and were greeted by the sight of plain blue walls.
He jumped off from his bed and felt a new sensation in him that made him smile a bit.
'The feeling of getting stronger sure is interesting. Thanks to the Blood Plum method I used to create my jindan, my cultivation speed is similar to that of someone with C-grade talent. It is a pity that I cannot have 50 units of Qi.'
Mickey grabbed a can of soda from his fridge and looked at X, who was drinking the profound boar's blood from a bowl. He was all healed now, thanks to Hugh Qian's methods. Unlike last time, Mickey didn't have to mix his blood for him to eat.
This also confirmed his theory that X would level up faster by drinking the blood of another profound beast, mostly those of higher realms than him.
Now, the only thing feeding on his blood was the dark red ring he put in the fish tank close to X. The fish tank didn't have water but was filled with 200ml of Mickey's own blood.
Ahaa…
Mickey could only sigh. The ring wasn't showing any changes, and in a day's time, that blood would have all been sucked up.
Mickey picked up the last item on the glass table, his tablet. A message on the screen caught his attention, raising an eyebrow.
It was from Wednesday:
[Hello friend, it's me, Wednesday, again. I need a favor - could you catch some beetle-fish for me? I require their bones for an item I'm crafting. I'm willing to pay 10 million per kilogram of beetle-fish you bring. I've heard they live in the tributary of the Symphony River, but be cautious - the area is close to the beach, and it's easy to get lost.]
Mickey's lips curled up,
"Beetle-fish are small and hard to catch. He also didn't give me a chance to refuse his demand. He wants me to fail, and use that chance to get to know why I killed Mo Bing?"
'Too bad for him, I know something even his master doesn't.'
Mickey put on his red hoodie and grabbed X, stopping him from his meal.
Chirp-!
"We got a second job. Let us go."
X wanted to protest, but he knew the chances of this parent of his stopping were as low as the number of girls who found him alluring.
The blood raven could only sit on his head, as it grumbled about its bad luck.
Ding-!
The moment the elevator door opened, Mickey felt something that made him look in the direction he came from.
'Someone is following me.'
Mickey was a hitman in his other life, and was very familiar with the feeling of being tailed.
Nevertheless, he just shrugged the matter off.
'It must be the person Wednesday tasked to follow me.'
However, his thoughts were far off, the moment he entered the elevator, a figure popped up from the corner.
He had a black cloak that covered his facial expression but couldn't hide his lips that were curled down.
"GU Mickey, I will have my revenge!" His voice echoed in a malevolent light as he walked towards Mickey's apartment.
Bam-!
The door to Mickey's apartment was kicked open.
At the Treasure Cultivation Store, Wednesday had a grimace on his face as he talked to a beautiful till operator with long pink hair.
"You are telling me you have a way to find out why Mickey suddenly decided to kill Mo Bing?"
The till operator nodded with a smile as she tied her long hair into a bun.
"Yes, are you forgetting that I am good at this kind of job."
Wednesday's body shivered a little when the pair of pink eyes stared at him.
"Monday! You have to contain yourself! Are you forgetting your role? Mickey is someone you should never associate with!"
Monday rolled her eyes in disdain.
"I know my role is to help, and sacrifice myself for my husband, and figuring why Mickey is not following the plot, is also helping my husband."
Wednesday sighed in helplessness. He knew how this woman would act when it came to issues related to her so-called 'husband'.
"Good luck... he looks like an ace. (1)"
Monday patted her lips.
"Stop trying to discourage me."
1 - Ace is an abbreviation for asexual, referring to individuals who experience little to no romantic desire or sexual attraction to others.
