The Proposal

Four months had passed since the training had begun.

Ron and Bob went through tough days during these four months of training. They spend most of the time either resting or training and they didn't have to work in the mines anymore.

Most of their daily routine involved continuous exercises that aimed to make their bodies more powerful in the morning, followed by training with Raze in the evening.

"Give me 100 push ups!" barked their soldier.

"YES SIR!" they replied in unison, pushing themselves to the limit.

"100 sit ups!"

"YES SIR!"

"100 planks!"

"YES SIR!"

As they completed their exercises, sweat poured down their faces.

"Three more!" Edward shouted, pushing them to their limits.

"YEEEEEESSSS SIRRRR!!!!!"

Finally, Ron and Bob collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air.

Now they are being trained by one of the soldiers named Edward, as Raze is likely busy with his work. Their buts are filled with marks due to constant spanking.

"Good Job for today, now take a break, Lord Raze will come soon" said Edward as he left them there.

"Bro, it feels like they're marinating their beef and planning to grill us for dinner," joked Bob with a grin.

"We gotta push through. It's all for our own good," replied Ron, his tone a mix of seriousness.

As Ron spoke, a loud explosion could be heard in the distance. He paused, listening intently for any other sounds.

Bob looked at him, concerned. "What was that? Is it for our own good too?" he asked with a hint of sarcasm.

"I don't think so," replied Ron as they both made their way towards the source of the sound.

As they reached the scene, their eyes widened at the sight of a massive crater in the ground, as though a meteor had slammed into the earth.

In middle of it was Raze and a women who seemed to be in her twenties. She had a fair skin, and lovely amber like eyes. She had a dark brown hair that she ties back. She wore clothing that excluded grace and looked like a mage.

"Damn, those tities" said Bob slowly.

The women's eyes then turn towards where they were standing.

Ron stood still and rolled his eyes at Bob's comment, whispering back without moving, "she can hear you." He added, 'She's the arcane investigator.'"

Bob's eyes widened in fear. "No more titillation for me," he thought.

"I see you've been hard at work," she said, her voice smooth and raspy to Raze.

Even though Ron couldn't sense mana, he could feel that every cell in his body was warning him that the woman in front of him was dangerous, maybe even more dangerous than Raze.

"I didn't know you trained slaves here, especially these two," the woman said with a hint of disapproval in her voice.

"Did you come all this way just to chat or do you have a reason for being here?" Raze asked with a raised eyebrow, trying to maintain his composure despite the woman's unexpected presence.

"I have a feeling I won't like what's coming next," Ron thought, feeling a knot form in his stomach as he looked at her stern expression.

The woman gave out a sigh and replied, "I am Runa Ember, the arcane investigator sent by the Council of Mages, with permission to monitor the camp," as she took out a scroll with the council's seal.

"Fine, I agree with the process" said Raze after reading the scroll.

The women then took out a tube attached to a chain and the took it near to Raze.

"Touch the tube please" said Runa to Raze.

"What is she doing?" asked Bob to Ron

Ron explained, "That tube contains dragon blood, which is primarily used for detecting dark magic. She's checking to make sure Raze isn't a dark mage."

"How do you know all this stuff?" curiously asked Bob.

Ron remained silent.

Raze without any hesitation touch the tube with his fingers. And the tube shines brightly.

Ron knew from the book that the western continent had developed a way to prevent detection by dragon blood, but there was no mention of what that way was or how it worked.

The detection process went smoothly with each and every person. As expected, those with a lot of magic like the mage guards shone brightly when they touched the tube.

However, the majority of the people in the slave camp had a light shine or clear response, which is common for people who were commoners or with low magic.

Finally, it was turn for Ron and Bob, First Bob tried the test tube by which turned to light blue. Then came Ron's turn.

He thought "Maybe…you know I got a buff".

"Clear" said Runa as his hand touched the tube.

Ron couldn't help but think that it was a depressing reminder of their current situation - no magic —> no hope —> get fucked.

"Fuck!" was the first thought that came into his mind.

After finding everyone was clean, Runa monitored the whole slave camp looking for something suspicious. She knew that didn't wanted to leave any stones unturned.

However, she didn't find anything, so she hopped back in her carriage and bounced before sunset.

Ron was freaking out, realizing he had no chance of catching up to the story's protagonist who got blessed with light magic.

[Author: I'll talk about that little shit later, now lemme develop these two idiots]

Ron was outside, staring up at the stars in the dark sky. He was feeling pretty down, thinking that he had no special powers or abilities that would help him reach the heights he dreamed of. He knew that he didn't have enough magic to even create a simple spell, let alone develop a magical affinity.

"Hey, don't be so down, buddy," he said, trying to lift Ron's spirits. "If we had that much magic, we wouldn't be stuck in this dump of a camp. We'd be living it up in some noble's mansion, feasting on the finest food and living the high life. Plus, our parents might still be alive."

Ron let out a sigh, feeling a bit defeated he said "Yeah, well, whatever. Nothing's gonna happen by thinking about it now,"

After some time, a soldier walked up to them and told them that Raze was looking for him.

.

As Ron and Bob walked into Raze's office, they immediately noticed two men standing there, looking at them as if they had been waiting for their arrival.

Ron saw Raze in his table. finding himself still engrossed in his books and documents.

"Take a seat, please," Raze said, looking up from his work. "I called you both here for a proposal."

"What is it?" inquired Ron.

"I want you two to work for us".
