Buried Truth

As Ron stepped out and saw Olivia playing with her cat.

He walked towards her, but Olivia just looked at him and didn't say anything.

"What's wrong with this kid?" thought Ron. She was completely different from what he had read about her in the book.

Forcing a smile on his face, Ron went near Olivia and sat beside her. "Hey there," he said.

"What do you want?" asked Olivia in a low tune.

"Oh, not the chatty type, huh?" thought Ron. In his previous life, he was also not too chatty, so he understood the pain of feeling lonely.

"That's a nice cat you have. What's his name?" Ron asked.

"His name is Boot," replied Olivia.

"That's a nice name. Can I catch him for a minute?" asked Ron, trying to make conversation.

As he played with Boot, Ron asked Olivia a few questions and talked about different topics, making her feel more comfortable with him. She started talking more and smiling, finally opening up to Ron. Time passed quickly, and Ron had to go.

"Bye," said Ron with a gesture.

Olivia waved her hand and said, "Bye" too.

On reaching his Room Ron saw Bob reading a book on his bed.

"Bro moves your ass out of here, go to your own room" said Ron to Bob.

"Nah, your bed feels better, so I'll stay here" said Bob as he continued reading.

"Where did you find the book?" ask Bob curiously.

"OH, there is a big library on the other side, but there aren't any other materials there, you know what I mean".

"Oh, I see" said Ron as he walked out of his room to find the library.

.

Finally, after searching for a few minutes in the large mansion, he found the door to the library and opened it.

"WOW!" exclaimed Ron as he looked at the enormous books on the tall shelves. The library was vast, like the one he saw in movies. It was so big that he had to use a 7-foot grabber to take out books.

But Ron's visit to the library was not for books,he was searching for something else.

At the end of the library, Ron saw a table with a lot of equipment and items he had never seen before.

"It should be here," said Ron as he opened up a drawer and peered inside.

"GOT IT!" he exclaimed, pulling out the compass.

"Now I need a map and some books to cross-check it," Ron added, determined to gather the information about the dark hearts location".

"May I help you".

The voice startled Ron, scaring the shit out of him.

It was Gazelle near the balcony, looking at Ron with her drink in her hand.

"Umm, I, uh, was looking for some study material, you know, this is, uh, good," said Ron with sweat trickling down his face.

"Shit, what do I do? Should I run? But still, I don't think I am faster than her." All these thoughts were showing negatively in Ron's head.

"Oh, I'm dead," thought Ron.

"Come here," said Gazelle, waving her hand toward her.

Gulping nervously, Ron moved to Gazelle, who was looking out of her window.

As he arrived, he saw a huge garland full of flowers and trees, and the air was fresh.

"You know, I am really curious about how a kid like you, born in a slave camp, knew about something that even the most brilliant of our people couldn't find out even after searching for decades."

"First, I thought you were some kinds of spy working for Aeries."

"But soon, I realized that wasn't the case."

"Oh, shit, Is this where I spill the beans out, about my reincarnation, even if I did, will she believe me?"

"You can see the future, didn't you?" asked Gazelle.

"Eh?" Ron decided to go with the flow.

"Yes, I did," said Ron with confidence, even though his heart was beating like a beatboxer.

"What will happen to me and my daughter?" asked Gazelle.

"…..umm well," thought Ron.

"I guessed so," replied Gazelle.

"Well, will you be able to change it, the future?" asked Gazelle.

During this moment, Ron felt happy and sad at the same time. In his previous life, he always avoided his responsibilities. But he doesn't want it to be the same in this world. However, he still wasn't sure if he will be able to achieve it if he made a promise to her.

"I don't know, but all I can do is try my best to change it," said Ron with full courage; he didn't want to let someone down who placed their trust in him.

"Heheheh," Gazelle chuckled.

"Now let me ask you something," said Ron.

"Why are you doing this, getting into a conspiracy with the empire when you're such a high-class mage?"

Gazelle then took a small pause before speaking.

"They killed my husband because he was a dark mage."

Ron knew that Olivia's dad was a dark mage, but he didn't know that Gazelle was doing this for the revenge of her husband.

"How did you two meet?" asked Ron.

Gazelle took a sip from her glass before speaking.

"Before 10 years, there was a conflict where there were reports of bandits attacking the ports of our country."

"I was sent with a group of other mages to take out the bandits who were disrupting the supply of goods."

"However, once we reached there, we realized that they were not bandits, but Abyssians and also much stronger than when I was then."

"All of my partners were killed, and I was the only one left. But I was injured and almost died from blood loss, then I was saved by an Abyssian."

"He treated my wounds, and later we fell in love."

"As I realized I was pregnant, he made a deal with the empire to act as a spy for them, and he would be allowed to live in Aeris as an Aerian."

"But, in the end, he was executed, saying that he posed a threat to the empire."

"No one knows that Olivia is his child, and I'd like it to remain that way."

"So, Olivia is a dark mage?" asked Ron.

Gazelle took another sip.

"No, she is like me, she doesn't have dark blood in her."

"I'm sorry for your loss," said Ron as both of them stared at the stars.
