All Out Melee

Yaan had no time to wonder why his emotional state was affected by Ghu Lin's words. He was swept up with the Ghu Clan's momentum, charging forth without a second thought. Ghu Lin was to Yaan's right and Ghu Nadda to his left, this trio was a terrifying line up that no other small group could hope to match in the 3rd trial!

Whoosh…Chi Chi Chi!

Before Yaan even had the chance to process the sudden outbreak of violence, his blade had already sliced through the necks of three pitiful cultivators.

Yaan's first victims had no time to react. After hearing Ghu Lin's shocking roar from behind, they turned back, only to be faced with the terror-inducing blade that spelled their deaths. As the three heads dropped to the ground, three red vortexes appeared in front of Yaan, swiftly presenting him with three rewards.

Swip!

Yaan speechlessly turned to the side and stared at Ghu Lin, who swiped his hand out and grabbed the three items without so much as looking his way.

"We will collect the items, you just focus on killing!" Ghu Lin shouted out, without a trace of shame in his voice.

Yaan felt bitter…so this was his plan. Ghu Lin tempted him into this melee with the promise of rewards, and the unspoken threat that there would be trouble if he refused to cooperate, giving Yaan little choice but to agree. And now, it was difficult to know whether he intended to share anything with Yaan or not.

Yaan was certain that Ghu Lin would not hand over half of the rewards, and yet, he couldn't back down here. If he tried to back out now, he would be abandoning the Ghu Clan and his safety would be in jeopardy. Even if the Ghu Clan didn't directly attack him, he would be left alone to face the Ghu Clan's enemies!

With no other choice but to move forwards, Yaan grit his teeth and turned away from the devious Ghu Clansman.

It was barely noticeable, but the darkness in Yaan's eyes grew deeper.

Chi!

Before Ghu Lin could react, Yaan's hand stabbed into the red vortex which materialised immediately after he cut down another pitiful Innate Qi Realm cultivator. As Ghu Lin frowned slightly, Yaan shouted out:

"I can help you guys collect the rewards, you just focus on protecting me!"

When Yaan flipped around Ghu Lin's words, the handsome young clansman's gaze flashed, but he remained silent and continued to fend off the many attacks being directed towards the Ghu Clan group. Yaan didn't even bother looking at him, because he knew that he would be unable to see through Ghu Lin's thoughts.

"Everyone, the vile Ghu Clan intends to kill us all for the rewards!" The 5th Layer Qi Temple Realm middle aged man yelled out loud. It was clear that he was leading the other side, flying in the air a hundred feet away from Yaan and his group as he stared at Ghu Lin coldly. He ignored the others, singling out Ghu Lin as the greatest threat to their safety.

After the middle aged elite spoke, those who were not already aware of the Ghu Clan's movements immediately discovered their shocking actions. Upon seeing the surge of demonic clansmen charging their way, those people could only turn to face them with gritted teeth.

If before, the battle between the two sides could be described as savage, then now, it was an all out chaotic frenzy of blood and war!

The Ghu Clan side's opposition gathered together under the commands of the 5th Layer Qi Temple Realm man and surged forth towards the Ghu Clan in a tsunami of bodies.

Whoosh!

Yaan's eyes widened in alarm as a flash of white light blocked his vision for a brief moment. Before the flash appeared, he noticed a grey object shooting towards him. He hastily dropped down in an attempt to evade, but he was a moment too slow.

Clang!

The blade slammed into his shoulder, but it was stopped by the golden armour below his robe. Thanks to the golden armour, the attack was completely blocked. Yaan's eyes quickly darted about, and before long, he found the person responsible striking him from the shadows.

A woman wearing a full black garb which hid both her face and body staggered backwards by a single step. Her eyes widened in shock due to the impact between her weapon and Yaan's golden armour, which caused the connection between herself and her weapon to tremble.

She was left feeling stunned when she realised that Yaan managed to locate her almost immediately.

Yaan narrowed his eyes. He saw this woman as a great threat. The majority of those to enter the inheritance were at the Innate Qi Realm, though many of those cultivators were killed off in the 2nd trial. Now, around 10-20% of those present were at the Qi Temple Realm, and even though her aura was concealed well, Yaan could tell from experience that his assailant was a 3rd Layer Qi Temple Realm cultivator!

Her battle power was very impressive, causing Yaan to choose her as his next target. He felt like now was the best opportunity he would get, since she was injured from the backlash after her weapon collided with his armour and almost broke apart!

Swoosh…

Like a leaf in the wind, Yaan's body slipped past multiple cultivators, before accelerating at a terrifying rate towards the woman.

Flashes of water seemed to splash out to the side whilst his body drifted by, but this water was not tranquil…not only was Yaan making his way towards the 3rd Layer Qi Temple Realm woman, but throats were slit and heads rolled to the ground as he left a trail of bloody death in his wake!

Nadda, who clearly saw Yaan's movements, inhaled sharply due to his shock.

'He improved again! This level of combining sword arts, it's-'

Clang!

Before Nadda could finish this thought, he was attacked by a pair of Qi Temple Realm old men, forcing him to focus his attention. After blocking the pair without much difficulty, he paused. Nadda vaguely saw the shadow of Ghu Lin blurring past, heading towards Yaan…

Thud thud…

Without Nadda doing anything , his two opponents dropped to the floor, screaming in agony as blood flowed out from their four limbs. In less than half a second, both men had been turned into cripples who could no longer walk, let alone fight!

The young ghoul ignored the screaming old fellows at his feet and stared at Ghu Lin as a shiver ran down his spine…he didn't even see how Ghu Lin attacked them!

'His battle power is far more impressive than the rumours suggest!' A cautious gleam appeared in Ghu Nadda's eyes. When he realised that all of Ghu Lin's enemies were being dealt with in such a way, crippled but not killed, silently and mysteriously, he felt stunned, and honestly, a bit afraid.

When Nadda caught up to Ghu Lin, who had reached Yaan a few seconds earlier, he finally understood why Ghu Lin was so adamant about having Yaan obtain as many kills as possible.

Whoosh!

Multiple vortexes appeared as Yaan killed two Innate Qi Realm cultivators on his own, before slashing his blade downwards, massacring a row of paralysed individuals, all of whom were lined up beside one another on the floor.

Nadda watched with an awkward expression as both Ghu Lin and Yaan used their full speed to grab at the rewards. Clearly, they were trying to take the rewards away before the other, yet they maintained calm and collected expressions, as if they were cooperating smoothly.

However, upon seeing the rewards that Yaan received, Nadda also had the urge to take them for himself…

Rank 3 body tempering pills that he had never seen before. Rank 4 Vital Recovery Pills. Weapons which looked like ordinary mortal weapons at a glance, but upon closer inspection, it would be found that they were actually shockingly heavy weapons designed for body temperers…

All of these things were so valuable, so expensive, yet another such reward appeared from each and every vortex that Yaan made appear! Compared to the Rank 2 common body tempering pills and Rank 3 Vital Recovery Pills that appeared when Qi refiners killed any opponent, Yaan's rewards were simply an order of magnitude more valuable!

And those were only the rewards gained from killing Innate Qi Realm cultivators! When Yaan killed Qi Temple Realm cultivators, the rewards were even more shocking.

Right at the moment that Ghu Lin arrived with Nadda close behind, Yaan finally reached the woman in the full black garb.

She knew that she needed to recover, so she did her best to retreat whilst using countless other lives as her shield in an attempt to hinder Yaan's chase. However, she didn't expect that multiple Ghu Clansmen would have snuck behind her, attacking her with monstrous ferocity and forcing her to stop!

At this moment, Yaan took the opportunity to attack.

The woman assumed that she was still a safe distance away from him, after all, there were still a dozen people between Yaan and herself. Those people were terrified, and they tried to move out of the way, but Yaan ignored their struggle. His Agile Sword Art was simply perfect for weaving through tight crowds like this.

As he drifted through the crowd, sharp blades of wind slit the throats of every person that he passed by. Screams echoed endlessly through Yaan's ears and blood splashed all across his face and robe, but he didn't take his eyes away from his true target for a single instant.

Upon reaching the horrified woman, she lashed out, throwing out three talismans which exploded in Yaan's face.

She expected this attack to at least throw him off, but she had underestimated the resilience of Yaan's body.

A Qi refiner would be forced to block such an attack, but Yaan braved it head on, forcing himself through the explosive flames and ignoring the jarring shockwaves. He struck out with the Flowing River Blade Art, creating a blade of water which not only cut through the air…but directly pierced through the woman's forehead!

A wave of blades seemed to spread out to the sides after Yaan took her life, injuring another two unfortunate weaker cultivators who were standing nearby.

Whoosh!

Yaan grabbed the reward for slaying the 3rd Layer Qi Temple Realm woman before Ghu Lin had the chance. Ghu Lin made a miscalculation this time, opting to take the rewards from the many people killed along Yaan's path towards the elite, rather than taking the reward from the elite herself. Because of this, Yaan obtained a shockingly valuable pill that he hadn't expected to procure so soon…

"Rank 4 Boundary Ascension Pill!" Ghu Lin exclaimed. A hint of greed flashed through his eyes, before he hid this emotion without a trace. It didn't matter that he personally had no use for this pill, because this pill was extremely valuable regardless!

Whether it was a cultivator trying to help their Rank 3 spirit beast ascend into a Rank 4 spirit beast, or a Peak 3-Star Realm demonic body temperer trying to ascend to the 4-Star Realm, there was certainly a market for this pill in the Ghu Province. Even if he couldn't find a buyer in North Ghu City, something this valuable would attract people from the Southern Province!

However, Yaan immediately pocketed it. By the time Yaan glanced at Ghu Lin, his expression had returned to normal, as if he didn't even care.

It was at this point that Ghu Lin's gaze flashed as he noticed something…Yaan had taken far too many medicines and resources to be storing them within his robe at this point. It looked like he was dropping them into his pocket, but how could that be the case?

He was either using a spatial ring, meaning that in reality, he still possessed Innate Qi, or he…possessed a second world treasure!

Even though his thoughts went along these lines, Ghu Lin showed nothing on his face.
