Kade's men dragged me out of the SUV. They had blindfolded me so I couldn't see anything.

I knew struggling was pointless.

I was aware that I'd just walked into a death-trap but I had to do whatever it took to save the people I love.

/"Keep walking./" One of the two men growled as he pushed me forward with the nozzle of his gun. /"You've caused us a lot of trouble./" He hissed in my ear, making me wince.

We'd walked a few paces when I suddenly felt the blind-fold being ripped off. It took a while for my eyes to get adjusted.

A shiver ran down my spine when my eyes fell on Kade's smirking face.

Wait.

There' someone else too.

That's when I saw him.

An involuntary gasp left my lips.

/"N-Nate?/" I cried out.

He was holding a gun which was trained at Kade's head!

His eyes finally found mine.

/"Verena?/" He breathed in disbelief.
