"10...30...50....70...90...99!" Kaelen counted every single one.
"I'm a dumb little sister" Nyra finally said for the hundredth time for with tears in her eyes.
Kaelen wasn't fazed by her tears. She's always been a disrespectful little brat towards him. But that was a going to change. If he wanted to rule, he needed to command respect. Therefore, he needed to be cold and heartless sometimes.
"Well done sister. I'm impressed with your loyalty" Kaelen said as he patted her on the head.
Nyra couldn't say anything. All she wanted was to drive arrows through every part of his body. Tears were in her eyes. She had never knelt down before anyone in her life, not even her own parents. But here she was kneeling before her brother just because of a stupid insecurity.
Kaelen was about to hand her the paper. But she ran away, tears rolling from her eyes.
Kaelen watched as she ran away. He gave a sinister laugh.
'That'd teach her' Kaelen thought with a wide grin.
He tucked the piece of paper back in his pockets as headed back to his chamber with the books he got from the library.
As the day passed by. Kaelen found himself going over and books he had countless times.
He wondered where Nyx might be. He wanted to have some fun, but no of his servants were available. He couldn't summon Sofia now because she was on an important mission given by him. She no longer resided in the castle.
As an orange hue painted the sky. Kaelen laid down on his bed in a supine position.
Before long, the night came. Kaelen sighed heavily, before going to take a shower.
In the bath Kaelen noticed that his muscles were now more visible than before, his and held a more firm shape, even his face wore a different appearance. His system was slowly changing his body physique. Kaelen was glad that he had such a wonderful system. No many who gets reincarnated, gets to behold such a power.
After a long session of cleaning up, Kaelen was hoping for a good night's rest after his hetic day. But the night had other plans for him.
As the night got darker. The moon shone brightly through the night sky.
Kaelen and everyone in the castle was fast asleep, or so he thought.
Suddenly a knock was heard on Kaelen's door.
Kaelen was still asleep so he didn't hear anything.
The banging continued until Kaelen finally woke. He tried rubbing of the tiredness from his eyes as he struggled to stay awake.
The banging continued, now louder. 'Who the fuck is banging my door at this time of the night' Kaelen thought what maniac would be awake by this time of the night.
Still he got up, heading to check who it was. As Kaelen got to the door, he sensed any overwhelming amount of bloodlust. He couldn't understand the feeling. Now he was more suspicious of who might be behind the door. He called out several times, but no answered and the banging continued.
Kaelen had to be ready for the worse as he activated one of his new skills, ready for whatever for may be behind that door.
Slowly the door creaked open as light from the hallway managed to illuminate a part of the room.
After the door was fully open, Kaelen was shocked by who it was.
"Velora? Why are you here? Were you the one banging my door?" Kaelen was a bit shocked to see his sister at his door.
"We need to talk" Velora stated in a firm tone, her face devoid of any emotions.
Kaelen was confused by her statement. What could she possibly want to take about that she couldn't what till morning?
"Can't it what till morning? I'm a bit tired" Kaelen said as he tried shuting the door. But Velora held the door with her hands as she pushed the door open, making Kaelen stumbled back a bit.
"I said we need to talk" Velora said in a cold tone as he shut the door behind her.
Kaelen was now worried. What could his mainac sister possibly want to talk about? He had a feeling that she wanted to do more than just talking.
"What the hell are you doing?" Kaelen asked with a mix of worry and curiousity in his tone. Being locked in a room with this bitch was something no one wanted, especially Kaelen. He knew how dangerous she was.
"What happened in the courtyard today?" Velora asked as she leaned back on the door.
"Courtyard? What are you talking--"
Suddenly Kaelen remembered his encounter with Nyra.
Was she here because of what happened? Did she seek revenge for her sister? But he didn't really do anything bad to her.
"What about the courtyard?" Kaelen said as he sat back on his bed, undermining the fact that a war driven was in his room interrogating him. Kaelen wasn't going to be intimidated by the likes of her.
Velora was a bit surprised at his courage behavior. But remained her cold demeanor.
"Nyra came to me crying today" Velora said as she walked closer to Kaelen.
"Did she now?" Kaelen said abruptly. His hand behind his head.
Velora gritted her teeth. She slammed her hand against the wall he leaned on as she drew her face a bit closer to his.
"Don't play dumb with me brother. I know you did something to Nyra. Spit it out! What did you do" Velora spoke, her voice filled with anger.
Kaelen's face remained stoic at her behavior. "What did she tell you I did?" Kaelen said with a stoic expression.
"That's the thing! She wouldn't tell me. All she did was cry, even when I tried getting her to talk" Velora said as she looked a little bit calmer.
Kaelen was shocked at his sister's statement. Why did fuck would she think that he did anything to her. Well, he did. But where's the proof. Did she have any substantial evidence against him, that would prove he did anything. At the same time, he was glad he broke his sister's ego. Kaelen smiled brightly within him.
"And who said I did anything to her? Maybe she just had a bad day" Kaelen shrugged.
Velora gritted her teeth more as her anger boiled even more.
She tried punching a hole in Kaelen's head. But Kaelen quickly evaded her attack.
"What the fuck!! Are you trying to kill me?"
