Before Raito even noticed, the demon was already headless. He then looked behind as he saw how the demon slowly turned into ash.

"W-What was that ?" Ratio shockingly asked as he looked at his brother.

Tsuyoi then walked to his brother; his serious expression disappeared as he quickly reached his arms and hugged Raito.

"Never do that again," Tsuyoi said in a sad tone. A little smile appeared on his face.

"I- Y-Yes," Raito responded in a shooked tone; since when did his brother cared about him? His cold and emotionally distanced brother showed him his love? Something he would have never expected.

As the siblings went home, Raito looked at Tsuyoi with an admiring look. Raito already knew that his brother would be a demon slayer and one of the disciples of the Kaminari Academy.

"Is something wrong, brother ?" Tsuyoi asked as he noticed the gaze of his little brother.

"Well, brother, you are a demon slayer, right ?" Raito then asked with an worrying smile.

"Well, yes," Tsuyoi responded in a surprised manner; he then looked at his little brother with a surprising look as he asked:

"Do you want to become one?"

As he asked this, Raito then quickly responded:

"Yes!"

"Well, then, you should start your training soon. You have only five years left to participate in the academy selection exam. " Tsuyoi spoke as a smirk appeared on his face.

"Oh, about that. Do you think I have the potential to become one?" Raito then asked; even though he confessed he would become a demon slayer, he wasn't sure if he had the potential to become one.

"Raito, tell me, why do you ask me something like that?" Tsuyoi asked in a curious tone.

'Since when does Raito think about these things?' Tsuyoi thought as he looked at his brother. Usually, he would think of Raito as a kid who had much potential.

Raito then stood still as he clenched his fists and looked at the ground with a disappointed face. He then opened his mouth and spoke:

"I... When this demon attacked me, I could do nothing but run... I was weak, and if you weren't home today, mom and me would have probably died.

Even though I had luck and didn't overreact, my body felt weak; I couldn't do anything but run; I ran towards our home. And just as I said, without you, the demon would have rushed inside our house...

I- I don't want to feel this fear again… never…" Raito explained as he looked at his hands that were still shaking. The fear he felt when facing that demon was far greater than anything else he ever felt.

"Raito, do not worry, you have the greatest potential out of us two. You was still able to run away, and not only that you didn't slowed down by looking back, you just kept running. Most people would have either froze from the shook or even pass out but you was able to run faster away than normal humans could.

You underestimate yourself." Tsuyoi responded with a proud smile on his face as he placed his palm on the shoulder of his little brother.

"However let's go home first."

Arrived at home the mother then quickly rushed over to the two. Her eyes full of tears and her heart racing she hugged her two son's with an smile.

"Mother…" Raito said as he hugged his mother back, just at time he realized what it would mean if his brother wouldn't be home and he was alone with his mother.

'I need to get stronger… much much stronger.' Having this thought in his mind Raito closed his eyes.

Next day…

In the next day Raito then went into Tsuyoi's room and said:

"Brother, is it possible for you to train me?"

As Tsuyoi heard Raito's words, a devilish smile appeared as he nodded, satisfied.

"I waited for this. Raito."
