CHAPTER 4 BESIDES

Now the king entered....

The king came into the room and everyone stand up we all bowed out head and the princes and princesses sat back on their seat except for the one who remained standing, he wasn't looking at anyone, the looks in his face and his unpredictable eyes makes it hard for people to predict his feelings, he then suddenly look at me, our gaze met, I felt a shiver run down my spine, it was as if am looking at him for the first time, I started to feel cold, I couldn't look away, we just stared at each other, I started to feel nervous when he chuckled inwardly, I looked down at my hands.

Did you see the one in a black clothe, he's the youngest of all the prince , but his mother was a maid so that gave him less power. Kelly quickly said to Grace.

The king went to seat in the middle, he cleared his voice, all the maid bowed their head afraid to look at the king's face. He then ordered the guards to give him the list, the king started to assigned role to everyone, but before he starts, he stand up from his seat, he moved closer to the maids, he look at one maid, You are going to be mine, the king said, Sons which one did you like, he gestured for his sons to choose whoever they want before they assigned role for the rest. Two princes moves forward leaving the one standing behind, he stood there, not flinching, the two princes walked around observing the maids, suddenly one stand in front of me, he ask me to turn, and I did as instructed.

The other prince standing behind clenched his fist in anger, he wanted to hit his brother so hard for standing in front of Diana, he didn't understand why his body react that way, He has been having strange feeling about the girl since the moment he saw her, and when she fainted, he couldn't help himself to stay back so he took charge of her, and when she was covering her body for him, it felt so strange, he didn't know why his body react that way, now her brother was standing in her front, she was about to be take away he couldn't stand it, he wanted to move closer but then he stay back.

I was uncomfortable with the prince standing so close to me, as if the prince know he then move to the maid next to me, he then come back to me, I started to panic when the king said, Anthony, this is one for you, I sighed in relief when finally accept the king choice, he then look at me with a disappointing eyes, I quickly shifted my gaze to the prince in black attire, he look calm and relief, he looked at me and I quickly hung my head low, I look at my hand.

The king and princes went back to their seat, the king assigned everyone to their duties, he gave all the Princesses two maid each and all the princes two maid each except for one. He assigned all the maids to their duties leaving only I was left behind. I stand curious to know what he wanted with me. The king move toward the dark prince, He's your personal maid, how thoughtful of me, he said with a wicked smirk on his face, the dark prince clench his fist, but he wasn't angry he seems satisfied.

The king and the other princes went out with their maids, I was now left in the room with the dark prince.

Diana, he called, I moved a little bit forward, Joseph, he said, w..what, I asked curiously

I own you, You are my maid now, you should at least know my name, It's Joseph, he repeated.

Come Diana let me show you around, Joseph said' Ok your highness I said bowing my head, he looked at me as he opened his mouth to say something but the he stop, he walk at the front while I followed quietly.

This is my room, as you have seen earlier, Joseph said, yes your highness I responded, he look back at me and then he continued walking, he then stops at the kitchen, there's an old woman, she was standing, she looked at the door and he saw us, Joseph went inside the kitchen, he move closer to the woman, I look at him confused, this is my mother, he said with with a cold voice, yes your highness I replied, he turned and get out of the kitchen, I followed him quietly.

As my personal maid, you will be the one to follow me and get me anything when I need them, you understand., ' Joseph said, yes your highness, I said and nod my head in positivity. And one more thing, You can call me Joseph it not like am the crown prince or something, he said.

okay your high..... Joseph, I said in barely a whisper., he chuckled teasingly.

After he shows me everything, I went to the kitchen, I help the old woman with her work, what your name young girl, the old woman ask, 'its Diana' I answered.

I am Rita the old woman says, ok ma'am, Rita was very nice to me, I will see you later.

As soon as I step outside, I stumbled and push one maid she was holding a cup of tea, the tea splash, suddenly a very hot slap landed on my cheek.

A tear roll down my face, are you blind, 'she said, I am sorry, I say with lots of tears coming out of my eyes, you are a bad luck, you foolish girl just ruined everything, she started abusing me, she was the senior staff there's nothing I can do, I bend down to collect the broken glass, I saw a man's feet, standing besides....
