A Sudden Love Confession

Sophia pinched her temples and muttered profanities under her breath. Edward's wife, Laura hurried over to her and started massaging her shoulders through her clothes.

"That illegitimate brat is just like his mother, crafty and spineless. Is that why he had Thane fly out? So he could get married under all our noses?!" Sophia banged her fist on the table, frustration drawn across her make-up bare face.

"Mother, your blood pressure." Laura gently chided.

Edward hissed, taking off his jacket, "I knew Malcolm was shameless, but having his son act that way? In front of all our guests?" He shook his head.

Sophia was so angry her face turned red, "I told you to have William marry that woman on time! We had the upper hand!"

Laura sheepishly chimed, "It isn't easy, William already sacrificed when he agreed to marry a woman ten years older than him. I don't think we should pressurize him anymore-"

Sophia turned to her sharply and started to look around.
