"Would you like to try releasing aura?" Attina asked and he turned to her.
"What? What's that?"
"It's sword energy capable of mass destruction." She smiled.
"Hm, when you put it like that, how do you expect me to refuse?" He grinned in excitement. "Come on, show me."
"It's a bit difficult to learn and it may take a while so don't be downhearted." She warned in advance but he just gave her a geek look.
"Do I look like I'd be downhearted by this little thing?"
"Then, don't be frustrated? In any case, it can get really frustrating after a few hundred times." She reminded but it just irked him.
"You're looking down on me."
"Of course not, master. I'm just… "
"Yapping, yapping, yapping! Just get over with it, will ya?" He sounded impatient but Attica was worried. His kind of temperament was a bit…
"Alright!" In any case, it was right that she brought it to his notice even if they don't succeed. "First, close your eyes and concentrate. You need to feel the sword energy pulsating through you like it wants to crush you. Most times it'll feel like liquid, hot liquid and depending on your attribute, that's how your aura will be appear."
Attica instructed.
'But I don't have any attributes though. Argh, why is it so hot inside?' Justin started sweating. 'It feels like liquid like she said and it's hot. Really hot!'
"If you can feel it, try transferring that energy into the sword. It's a bit more complicated on this part than the previous." She said but Justin remained silent, causing her to misunderstand.
"It's okay if you don't feel it. It's not that easy anyway." She said in hopes of comforting him but he still wasn't moving. "Master?"
"Alright, I get it. What to do after transferring the energy to the sword?" He asked like he was in a rush.
"Well, um, once you transfer it to your sword, you can release it to the destination you want it to go." She said, though a bit confused as to why he was still interested when he wasn't doing anything. "Master, you don't need to rush it. We have plenty of time."
"Hey, get out of my way, okay?" He warned and she got behind him, still unaware that he had gotten to the last stage.
Justin's eyes shot open, flaring a purple light and all the hot energy building up in him transferred into the sword causing it to obtain a blazing purple aura.
The sight was epic and legendary and Attica gaped at it.
Justin swung the sword in the direction where there was nothing but trees and grass and ended up levelling the entire place plain.
Attica's jaw dropped. This was the first time she was seeing such a massive aura release and on his first try at that. It was fearsome and nerve-wracking. A genius like this, how has no one spotted him yet?
Justin let out a sigh of relief. The sweat rolling down his skin was enough to fill a minimum of two cups.
"Phew!" He cleaned his jaw with the back of his palm and Attica could only stare in awe. Her master was legendary!
Justin turned to her.
"Did I overdo it or is it naturally supposed to be that way?" He asked, pointing at the levelled plains.
"Master, you overdid it." She said but jumped on him. "But who cares? You're a genius who released aura on his first try. The capital would swoon if they heard." She looked excited and Justin didn't feel it necessary to push her away.
"So I'm a diamond in the rough, huh?"
"You're more than that." She let go and grinned. "And with my help, I'll make you a legendary sword master. A one of a kind."
"Yeah, that's not happening." Justin said, dashing her hopes.
"Eh?"
"I don't want to be a legendary sword master." He said and took off his jacket. He should have taken it off earlier.
"What? Why not?"
"No questions." He said and looked up. "Hm, I feel there's a commotion going on somewhere, the ground seems to be vibrating." He said but Attica gave him a blank stare.
"Master, you just levelled the grounds, of course the earth will vibrate." She said but he still had the hunch.
"Hm, it feels more like it." He gave it a thought but just shoved it away. "Anyway, this destruction is too big of a deal. Will it happen like this each time I use my aura?"
"Of course not. It'll be a big deal if that were to happen." She said. "I'll help you control the release. Right there, you couldn't control the amount you released because of the overwhelming pressure right?" He nodded. "Then, we'll focus on building the pressure gradually."
"That's fine with me."
Justin practised a few more times, unaware of the deadly slaughter that was going on downtown.
Since their house was in a deserted place, it couldn't be helped that they were unaware of the commotion.
"Okay, that should be okay for today. You've worked hard, master." Attica gave her encouragement and he nodded.
"I think I've worked twice the amount I have ever done in my life." He remarked, cleaning his sweat with his shirt.
He looked down at the sword, now that he was using it, he discovered it was a really sturdy and handy weapon. It was sharper than it looked as well. It wasn't a bad choice picking it up, afterall.
"System, can you run a scan on this sword?" He asked and the system did that.
(Ding! Scan completed!)
[Slayer: Has a high attack force and damage rate of over 70%. Unbreakable! The more powerful the wielder of the sword, the more the attack force increases.]
"So it's a badass, afterall." He remarked and looked at Attica.
Justin used his reverse skill to get his body back to its clean and refreshed state. Attica's eyes glowed and she gave him a thumbs up.
"My master is truly amazing."
Justin entered the simulation space and found the girls running about.
"Done with training? Or are you just slacking off?" They both turned to him and ran over.
"Brother, Alicia broke the sword with her strength. She was incredible." Alexia immediately reported.
"And Alexia made her sword light on fire." Alicia reported in turn.
"Really?" Justin looked at them in surprise.
"Hm, it would seem your sisters also have good sword energy." Attica said and her face glowed. "Aw, look at those tiny geniuses waiting to be praised. What are you doing master? Praise them!"
"How?"
"Tell them they did well or pat their head, shouldn't you be accustomed to this by now?" She asked and he gave it a thought. How was he supposed to know how when he had never been praised before?
Other than Sally, who gave her usual thumbs up and 'You've worked hard' statements, no one had ever genuinely encouraged him. Not that there was anything he did that was worth encouraging, but still…
Justin slowly placed his hands on their head and rubbed gently.
"That's a very nice thing to hear." He said. "You two are amazing! You've worked really hard."
"Awn!" Attica looked touched and so did the girls. They hugged him and said,
"Brother is amazing too. You're working harder than we are." Alexia said.
"You are the hardest worker." Alicia responded, showing clearly that she wasn't good with encouraging words as well and he laughed.
"Alright. We're all hard workers. Let's go and eat to mark this day of hard work."
