CHAPTER 7

Yoo Na, a tall slender and small faced girl with large doe brown eyes and a small nose with full red lips and long brown hair tied in a ponytail, she had a worried expression as she used her phone, she looked like a celebrity but her background was most certainly nothing like it.

She had been texting Bae Ra all night but she was surprised that her best friend hadn't replied any of her texts throughout the night even though she was still online but she knew that something was wrong when she saw that she was still online the next morning.

Yoo Na rode her old bike that morning to Bae Ra's house,so they would go to school together, it was next to their shop. She rang the doorbell for a long time but there was no reply.

"Miss Tan! Bae Ra!" She called, they were the only ones that lived there since Bae Ra's father was dead ever since she was a child. She heaved out a sigh wondering if Bae Ra had left without her, but it was impossible since she was a natural latecomer and they always went to school together.

She decided to take a look at the shop and she noticed it wasn't locked. 'She must be here then' she thought as she opened the glass door and called out,

"Bae Ra! We're going to be...." Her words trailed off when her eyes caught sight of Miss Tan's dead body on the floor in a pool of her own blood with her bones sticking out of her broken neck. Her hands flew to her mouth with widened eyes in shock.

"Oh my God! Miss Tan?" Her voice was low, words barely left her mouth, her body shivered in fright.

Her mind jolted back to its senses when she thought about her friend as she searched the whole place while screaming her name with panic written all over her face, she froze in terror when she opened the door to the storage room to see the horrific state of her friend's dead body.

Her head had been badly bashed in and dismembered, there was barely any way of recognizing her if one looked at her disfigured head but Yoo Na very much recognized her friend, lying in a pool of her blood, given a horrific death that made her feel nauseous.

Yoo Na couldn't believe her tears filled brown eyes that the dead girl that had been given a terrifying death was her friend, no, they were more than sisters, they had always been there for each other since they were little. Her legs shook heavily then she slumped on the floor.

"Bae Ra!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as she couldn't imagine who would be that heartless to murder her innocent friend in such a gory way. Hot tears ran down her cheeks, her whole body trembled, her head felt so dizzy she couldn't think properly as she quickly reached for her phone and dialed 119.

"Hello, whats your emergency." The officer at the other line of the phone asked but words couldn't form and when she tried to speak, she choked on her words as she sobbed heavily.

"Are you OK? What happened?" The officer asked with a worried voice but she couldn't stop crying.

The police and an ambulance arrived shortly, even the police were surprised by the goriness of the murders, the two police officers that had questioned Dae Hyun were present at the scene, forensics swarmed in taking pictures of the dead body and took samples as they looked for evidence, even though it was thoroughly cleaned up by Dae Hyun.

Yoo Na was in too much shock and petrification to speak as the officers attended to her after taking her away from the crime scene to ask her some questions.

"Did you see anyone or anything?" A female officer asked her but she shook her head in negation.

"I just went in and saw them...dead." She said and her eyes stung with tears threatening to fall out any second. The officer took her home as she couldn't attend school that day.

The officers explained everything to her parents while she lay on her bed thinking why someone would be so heartless and cruel enough to kill her friend and in such an inhumane way too. She was determined in herself to find the culprit no matter what and would make them pay for their horrible doings.

...

Dae Hyun caught sight of Min Hye on her counter, he admired her fashion sense, it was not too much nor too little, it was just perfect.

She was putting on a white long sleeve turtle necked shirt with a cream colored skirt stopping above her knees with a slit at the side and a white heel boot, her long hair was tied back, she had a professional look but Dae Hyun felt allured to it.

"Hello sir." She said politely, while averting her gaze from his. He noticed how she hated making eye contact with people .

"You have great fashion sense." He told her but she just pressed her lips in a thin line. "Lets have our dinner tomorrow night." He said and she nodded in affirmation.

"Sir!" She called as he walked towards his office making him halt as he turned around to meet her grey eyes with his which she quickly avoided.

"I just wanted to ask if you sorted out the important business you had to do last night?" She asked curiously, she was never one to meddle in anyone's business but she was curious about him and couldn't leave her curiosity unsettled. Dae Hyun's eyes gleamed with a dark look as he walked up closely to her.

"Yes, its actually more of a hobby than a business." He said softly and she read a lot of meaning to his words, his hobby sounded like something dangerous in her ears but instead of been wary of him, she felt oddly drawn.

.....

Min Hye was on her way home after the close of work when Jerry stepped in front of her.

"Hi, I'm Jerry." He introduced but she already recognized him as one of the colleagues that welcomed her with a gift basket.

"Yes, is there a problem?" She asked with a straight face, with no hint of emotion in her dead eyes.

"No, I heard you went to the states to study, I lived there too so I thought we had something in common." His voice was cheery, he was tall, good looking and all but she wasn't interested in him or anything he had to say.

"OK, I'll be going now." She said and tried to walk away but he kept pestering.

"Are you in a hurry? I can drop you off." He said politely.

"No, I prefer cabs." She said blankly.

"Why?" He asked.

"To avoid conversations." Her reply was short and firm.

.....

Dae Hyun was coming out of his office when So Ra almost ran towards him.

"Hi sir." So Ra said with a polite smile but one look at her face and he could sense that she was disturbed.

"Is something wrong?" He asked with a caring expression on his face.

"No, I'm OK." She said as they walked. "Can you drop me home? My car got bad." She lied as she batted her eyelashes at him and he could see very well right through her.

"I'm sorry but I'm taking a detour." He lied smoothly that even a lie detector wouldn't detect that he was lying.

"Ahh...Can I ask you a question then?" She asked unsure if she should even ask.

"Sure." He said with a polite smile and she felt relieved.

"There isn't any thing going on between Min Hye and you, right?" She asked with an ironic chuckle. Dae Hyun sighed.

"Lets wait and see." Was his reply before he excused himself and walked away leaving her with an envious look on her face as she stomped out angrily.

Dae Hyun was exiting the building when he saw Jerry and Min Hye talking. He wondered what they were talking about, he noticed how Jerry was been nice and giving her smiles, his jaws ticked in anger as he walked towards them and holding Min Hye lightly on her shoulders he said

"Did I keep you waiting too long? I'm sorry." He said as he walked away with her to his car leaving Jerry with a slightly opened mouth in confusion. So Ra saw Min Hye get in his car and her face immediately twisted in anger.

"What exactly did that bitch do?" She cussed under her breath. She knew how hard it was for Dae Hyun to take interest in a woman and the fact that Min Hye had just arrived in less than a few weeks made her full of jealousy.
