CHAPTER 68

Min Hye ran as fast as her legs could as she felt the hitman run behind her and he was incredibly fast because she could hear his footsteps moving closer to her but she didn't turn around to look as she immediately went into a room and shut it, locking it hurriedly and she heard a loud thud from the other side of the door as the man slammed his body hard on it, in the process of trying to catch her.

She panted softly from the running as she stepped back instinctively from the door. It was silent in the other side of the door but she was not a fool to not know that the man was waiting for her to think he had given up, the hitman was probably unaware of her knowledge that she knew sh was being targeted by the Chairman.

She bit her lower lip as she worried about Dae Hyun after seeing him in that state. She knew the Chairman wouldn't kill him but she didn't want him to get hurt badly because of her. She searched around the room for any object she could use to defend herself since it was obvious to her that Dae Hyun wasn't in the position to help her in his paralysed state.

Min Hye knew it would be hard to take out the hitman alone as Dae Hyun had failed to do so, as strong as he was, so her attacking the killer was out of question as she knew herself that she was physically weak. She killed the burglar at her house, but the hitman was no burglar, he was a professional killer, so she could only pray inwardly for Dae Hyun to wake up quickly and save her.

She scurried around the room which was nicely furnished but it was obvious no one occupied that part of the house since it was only the both of them. She found a pocket knife in one of the drawers and even though it was not much, she had to take it for self defense since there was no liable equipment to defend herself better with and she could still use the pocket knife to inflict a good amount of damage on the man if used properly.

Dae Hyun's body quickly recovered from the electrocution and the burning sensation he felt in his body reduced but he was still temporarily paralysed and could move only his body a bit but he still couldn't get off the floor. He was worried about Min Hye, he couldn't hear her or the hitman, he was worried that he had gotten to her but he trusted her to live a bit longer till he was fully recovered since she was smart enough to extend her lifeline.

Min Hye waited patiently for the hitman to break through the doors any moment as she was sure he wouldn't just give up and leave without completing his mission, he wouldn't be that incompetent, especially when it involved a lot of cash and as she had predicted, she heard a loud bang on the door and she gulped at the possibility that the person coming through the door would cause her death.

She watched as the door had a large crack on it as the hitman hammered hard on it with a fire extinguisher he supposedly took from the house. The crack extended and she watched as the wooden door broke down and the hitman walked into the room and she moved back meters away from him instinctively, she didn't want to die now, she couldn't die now.

She outstretched her hand holding the pocket knife at him with a tight grip but the man had a hard expression on his face as he looked at her. She narrowed her eyes down to the knife in his hold and he charged towards her, ready to stab her with the knife but she dodged it immediately as she ducked down her small body, causing him to trip and fall, face first colliding with the ground. She sighted him on the floor and she ran as fast as she could out of the room, towards the living room where Dae Hyun was.

She rushed over to Dae Hyun who was still lying on the floor, he had started moving but he still hadn't fully recovered.

"Dae Hyun!" She called as she crouched down beside him, supporting his big body up.

"Are you okay?" Dae Hyun asked with a concerned tone as he screened his eyes through her body. Min Hye sighted the man coming down the stairs hurriedly with blood flowing out of his nostrils and Min Hye quickly left his sight as she ran into another room to hide.

She was lucky to escape from the man but the man would soon get to her again and sh might not be so lucky after all. The door banged loudly again as the man tried to break through and she clutched the pocket knife tightly around her fingers as she awaited the man's entrance. The door broke open and the man walked into the room towards her with quick paces. It was obvious the man was angry because he had a murderous look on his face as he charged towards her and she stepped back instinctively but she tripped on a small table and fell butt first hitting the floor and she yelped in pain.

The man pounced on her, holding her with one hand in a firm position to prevent her escape again. He brought the knife up and was about to strike her with it until he felt an object collide with his head, making the knife drop from his hold. Min Hye sighed in relief when she saw Dae Hyun come to her rescue. The man fell on the floor, holding his head in pain as blood trickled from his head, the man tried to get up with staggered steps but Dae Hyun grabbed his hair viciously and bashed his head into the wall, his skull cracked from the fierce collision and blood jetted out of the deep gash in his head but Dae Hyun continuously bashed his head into the wall, bathing the wall with his blood until his body fell limp and lifeless and his head had been brutally crushed into his skull and blood oozed out of it.

Dae Hyun let the man's lifeless body fall freely on the floor and he slowly got covered in his own pool of blood. Min Hye watched as Dae Hyun's chest heaved heavily but she knew it wasn't because he was tired but because he was furious.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Dae Hyun asked in a worried tone as he hurried over to Min Hye, squatting down on her level as she was still seated on the floor from the fall earlier. She could see his hands trembling slightly as he brought it closer to her face, not caring if it had blood on it.

"I'm alright.." She replied with a small voice but she could still feel the pain on her behind from the fall earlier.

He sighed in relief as he pushed her hair backward and kissed atop her head softly.

"I'm sorry, you almost died because of me." Dae Hyun said with a low apologetic voice.

"It's not your fault, it's the Chairman's." Min Hye stated out and he became furious, there was no doubt he'd warn the Chairman to back off, he couldn't kill him right then to enable his plans to work but he would later, he would definitely get his revenge on the Chairman for trying to kill her.

"I have to take care of the body and clean this place up." Dae Hyun said and she nodded.

"I'll help you." She said firmly and Dae Hyun could only nod as he knew it'd be useless to try and argue with her and besides, he wouldn't be giving her any work to do.

He placed the body in a body bag and discreetly shoved it into the boot of his car after cleaning up the bloody mess he had made and getting rid of his belongings. Dae Hyun and Min Hye got in the car and he drove throughout the night to a forest which was located far away from them.

He drove the car into a forest and when he made sure the area was completely empty, he halted and took out the body along with a shovel from the boot of his car.

Min Hye watched him as he dug the earth out fiercely with force, he didn't stop for a second to rest as he wasn't in the least tired. She watched as his muscles flexed when he planted the shovel deep into the earth and dug the earth out, she was impressed at his strength and she felt aroused just watching him. He finally dug a large hole which was approximately four feet deep and he shoved the body inside effortlessly and buried it under the earth.

Dae Hyun shoved the shovel into the boot and wiped the dirt off his hands as he glanced at Min Hye and caught her staring with arousal in her eyes.
