10.22 Invalid concern
The letter Shu XinYi had collected as evidence against Valen Salvius were mostly ruined, with only a couple of words visible through the ink blotches. But Valen himself was unaware of this fact. Without regard for what he had just done with his son, Valen made his way back to the main city in a sour mood. He had ordered a few of his spies to investigate what sort of thing were Juno and the king involved in together, it can't possibly be a simple matter.
The men Valen sent were quite efficient, but the information they could uncover was only that what was shown to them. In the end, Valen could not fully understand the situation, of why the king and his son had joined parties. Returning to the Salvius house, Valen stomped inside and broke the first breakable thing he found around him, which attracted Nerva's attention quite easily.
"Father! What happened?" Nerva said in alarm as Valen proceeded to break yet an other candle stand.
