Mysterious Proposition

"Huh, you want me?" I question with curiosity.

She meets my gaze and responds confidently, "Yes."

A quizzical expression forms on my face, "What exactly do you mean by 'me'?"

With a tired expression, she clarifies, "I want you to be mine, exclusively."

I chuckle, finding her approach rather unusual, "You certainly have a unique way of asking someone to be their boyfriend."

Her voice becomes serious, "I'm not asking you to be my boyfriend."

I'm taken aback, "Really? So, what do you mean by 'mine alone'?"

Her eyes hold a certain intensity as she elaborates, "I want you to be mine, so I can have you entirely under my control."

I raise an eyebrow, skepticism in my voice, "Are you trying to hypnotise me? I can't just surrender myself to be your slave at your whim."

Her determination doesn't waver, "It's possible because I don't just want you for nothing...I want to buy you."

A tense silence fills the room, leaving me lost in thought.

I stammer, disbelief in my tone, "You want to buy me?"

She nods, her gaze unwavering, "Yes, I do."

~Sigh~

Sighing, I firmly respond, " I'm sorry, to but, this guy here is not for sale" I say pointing at myself

"Well, run along, the store's closed for today, comeback tomorrow" I add.

She counters, "Everything's for sale; you just haven't figured out the right currency. You can't buy everything with money, but there are other means of exchange."

I'm intrigued and a bit bewildered, "Wow."

She continues, "Just name your price."

I hesitate, realizing the complexity of the situation, "I don't think you understand. You don't just walk around looking for people to buy, besides, some things can't be bought "

She says, "Please, don't say something as cliché as love or happiness."

I assure her, "I wasn't going to. If I did, I might actually cringe at its clichéness."

Curiosity fills the room as she leans in, "So, what would you say?"

"Grace," I reply with a sense of conviction.

"Grace?" She's intrigued, awaiting an explanation.

I elaborate, "Yeah, the grace of the God that created us. I would have loved to lecture you, but I'm currently tired, maybe later, but I'll summarize everything for you."

She inquires further, "Aren't you an atheist? Do you believe in God?"

I confess, "I do. Do you?"

She shrugs, uncertainty in her expression, "I don't know. I'm just happy to be alive. It means more chances to watch anime, right?"

"Who do you live for? Yourself or someone else?" I ask

She hesitate to answer, "I...I can't answer that."

I push, "What do you live for?"

She looks at me with a blank expression.

I open up, "I believe in God. I don't want to think my existence stems from a monkey evolution or a cosmic explosion like the Big Bang Theory."

(No offense to scientist though, just a personal belief)

I inquire, "So, what's your point?"

She concludes, "Just like you earn grace, you don't buy it. So, you need to prove you're worthy of me, not buy me."

She ask cautiously, "Is that a deal-breaker for you?"

I responds sincerely, "There was never a deal to begin with."

"Ok, see you around" She said as she walks away and I stare at her fading figure.

*What a creature* I sigh inwardly as I begin to enter the gym.

I'm too tired to say anything, I'm just too uninspired, at this rate the story might actually get boring.

I advise you don't drop it, until you find it boring yourself
