Chapter 40

While everyone had their own plans, one devil had an idea. Hijoshiki had tracked down more information about Aldo, and knew if she wanted to get rid of Trident-Man she would have to do multiple things in her power to stop him. The first was surveying the man's every move. It was still night as Aldo had gotten into his car another night of aggressive fishing… something he used to not do. When Aldo fished it was a lot more calm and pinpoint but ever since his trip to hokkaido he had changed. Once in his car the man continued to drive through the more rural parts of tokyo, he lived on more of the outskirts of the technological city. It was around 2am as he continued to drive but, as he checked his mirror to switch lanes Aldo almost had to double take, he thought he just saw someone. A woman… her mouth was contorted with a deep smile. Her eyes lit up with excitement but, what was there to be happy for.

Aldo looked again and saw… nothing. A fog started to settle in and finally reached his house. It wasn't huge but it wasn't small, it was enough for a man to live on his own. He tried turning on the light but the flick just clicked, not turning on. No matter, Aldo had lost power many times and he simply lit a candle for light. He then touched a side of his neck, still freezing cold. Perfect. He began to kneel at what looked to be some sort of shrine, one where he started mumbling incoherently. It was as if he was speaking to someone, but this wasn't the Aldo his friends and family knew. Ever since he took that trip… When Aldo finished his somewhat chanting he looked up to see something staring... At his window.

He stumbled back, seeing the same figure of a woman he saw from before. A spiral like white eye continues to move, as a clock ticks in the other. Once Aldo blinked, it was gone. He had to be imagining things, perhaps it was the girl he killed. Who cared, it was just a vision, something he shouldn't worry about… oh but it was. As Aldo turned to the kitchen something was there, the same thing. Smiling this time.

Hijoshiki?: "My My, look who it is. Trident-Man all alone."

Aldo instantly swung a punch at this devil like being but it simply phased through.

Hijoshiki?: "ah ah ah, i'm not really here at this time AM I"

Her voice boomed as it surrounded Aldos home echoing over and over.

Hijoshiki?: "Different points in time, that's where I placed myself. I have also picked a time, for your death"

Aldo just looks forward stunned to hear these words from someone inferior, he swiped again at the woman but it simply phased through again. Before he could do anymore the figure started to phase away leaving this point in time. What Hijoshiki did was put parts of herself at different points in time making sure she could get all angles of Aldo's day. Which was perfect as now, he was going to be hunted.
