Sebastian woke up to the annoying sound of his alarm. He groaned and turned it off. He felt less sleepy than yesterday, but still not very energetic. He got ready for his daily quest. He wore his gauntlet , As he wanted to get used to it and finish his quest faster. He ran 5 km, did 50 push-ups and 50 squats. He checked his interface.

He felt a surge of power in his body. He threw a few punches in the air, feeling the skill guide his movements. He wondered how to level up faster. He thought of hunting beasts, but he was scared. He tried asking the system, but it didn't reply.

He searched on his phone for the best places to hunt low rank 1 beasts. He found a location that was only a few kilometers from his house. It was called "Mist Wood Forest". It was a dangerous place, where the deeper you went, the stronger the beasts were. The deepest part of Mist Wood Forest (where rank 3 beasts lived) was connected to the biggest forest on Earth, the "Amazon Forest".

He took a bath, cooked some food, and ate. He couldn't stop thinking about what he would do if he faced a beast. He imagined all the possible scenarios, and he felt like giving up. But he knew that hunting was the fastest way to level up. If he relied only on daily quests, it would take him a lifetime to reach rank 4.

At noon, he packed his things and left for the hunt. He took a taxi to the Eclipsia town's gate. He saw the walls that surrounded the town. They were 15 meters tall and 40 cm thick, and brown in color. He had never been to this side of town before. It was empty, except for a few vehicles going in and out. He approached the gate, but a guard stopped him.

The guard said in a bored tone, "Where do you think you are going?"

Sebastian looked at the guard and calmly replied, "I am going to Mist Wood Forest."

The guard said, "That is a forbidden area for normal people. Only people with hunter's identification cards are allowed."

Sebastian asked curiously, "Where can I get a hunter's identification card?"

The guard pointed to an empty road opposite of where he came from. "Half a kilometer straight, you will see a glass building of the Earth's Hunter Association.

Sebastian ran to the glass building, where the Earth's Hunter Association was located. He had seen the banner on the top of the building from afar. He entered the building and saw a few reception tables on the other side of the corridor. Behind them, some people were chatting and eating. To his left, there was a large wooden board, covered with many small papers. He wondered what they were.

He approached one of the receptionists, a woman with above average looks. She smiled professionally and asked, "How can I help you today?"

Sebastian said in a low voice, "I want to make my Hunter Identification Card."

She said, "Sir, please wait a moment. I will call someone to take you there."

After a few minutes, a man with spectacles and a lab coat came. He gestured for Sebastian to follow him. As they walked to a room, he asked Sebastian, "When did you awaken your power?"

Sebastian said, "Seven or eight days ago, sir."

The man looked at him and asked another question, "Then you must have gotten a great score, to decide to hunt beasts so soon. What was your score? Tell me."

Sebastian hesitated. He didn't want to tell him his score. It was too low. But the man insisted, "Don't be shy. Tell me. I won't tell anyone."

Sebastian thought for a few seconds and replied in a barely audible voice, "I got 0.8."

The man stopped and looked at him weirdly. He asked, "You are not taking forbidden drugs, are you?"

Sebastian answered quickly, "No."

The man sighed in relief and said, "Never take those forbidden drugs. They may seem good in the short run, but they destroy your body from inside. You must have trained a lot to make a connection with mana and reach rank 1 so early. Many people take a month to reach rank 1."

Sebastian didn't know what he was talking about. He was already rank 1 according to the system. He thought that everyone who passed the awakening became rank 1. He wondered how was his connection to mana has established or not .
