Unaware that she had gained a fearsome reputation at the GCPD, Thea swiftly flew back to Gotham University.
Upon entering the campus, it seemed that Selina and the others were telling the truth—the battle was already over. Due to the large number of civilians present, the aerial support from the A.R.G.U.S.'s attack helicopter was only used as a deterrent. They dared not open fire on the unconscious citizens, so the scale of the firefight was relatively small, much more harmonious than the blood-soaked chaos Thea had witnessed on her end.
Occasionally, she saw several officers spraying mist into the air from canisters, presumably to neutralize the nerve gas released by the Scarecrow earlier.
Upon entering the command vehicle, Thea found that Lyla wasn't there. Selina and Barbara were sitting on one side, catching their breath, while Felicity was resting her head on the table, looking exhausted. When Thea entered, nobody said anything, but they weakly waved her over.
"Did you find the Scarecrow?" Thea asked, already knowing from their demeanor that they probably hadn't caught him. Still, she couldn't help but ask.
"No sign of him. He probably escaped," Barbara replied. She hadn't fully recovered from the ordeal. Although she only faced three opponents, the fight was extremely challenging. She had wounds on her shoulder and arm. Despite being bandaged, blood continued to seep through, indicating the depth of the injuries.
After answering Thea's question, Barbara asked the question she was most concerned about. "Didn't Robin come back with you?"
"Don't worry, I came back first. They'll be here soon. Commissioner Gordon is keeping an eye on him," Thea reassured. Even though he might not be pleased with his son-in-law, he probably wouldn't take advantage of his unconsciousness to harm him, right?
Upon hearing that her boyfriend was with her father, Barbara felt completely at ease. She nodded in acknowledgment and didn't say anything more.
Approaching Selina, Thea asked softly, "Hey, what have you been up to lately?"
"The accumulation of capital," Selina elegantly replied.
Oh, she said that confidently and boldly. It seemed she wasn't the only one plotting against Gotham's wealthy. Thea wanted to discuss which targets were better to target without lowering the reputation of the hero camp. But before she could broach the topic, three trucks slowly entered the campus.
Talking about this topic seems a bit inappropriate now. Thea patted Barbara, who looked absent-minded and said, "Robin should be back now. Go check on him."
Upon hearing this, Barbara wiped her face and subconsciously walked out. Selina quickly went over to support her, fearing that if they didn't take care, she might end up with a serious injury just from walking.
"When they're done, have them come to the command vehicle for a meeting," Thea called from a distance. She didn't want to go down there herself, as the campus had been sprayed with some unknown mist, which, combined with the original gas, created an unbearable smell.
Selina assisted Barbara in a mini-marathon to find Robin. Well, it wasn't actually that far. They hadn't walked far when they saw Robin, who had barely regained consciousness and was sitting on the ground in a daze.
Seeing Barbara rush over and instinctively embrace him, Robin listened as she recounted the bizarre events of the night. He felt a mixture of embarrassment and guilt. He hadn't played any role at all and had become a burden instead, which was hard for him to accept with his strong sense of pride.
Selina watched the young couple huddle together and naturally didn't want to intrude. After all, she was somewhat like a mentor to them, being half a senior due to her relationship with Batman. If they did anything intimate, it would be awkward for her to witness it, so she decided to keep her distance.
At this moment, she noticed two officers carrying a guy with three arrows sticking out of him off the truck.
Oh, this must be Thea's doing, right? Although she hadn't witnessed Thea's archery skills firsthand, she was probably the only one in Gotham who used a bow and arrows in a fight. Well, she had nothing better to do, might as well check out her achievements.
The attire of the injured person looked familiar—it was the standard attire of Scarecrow's team, complete with body armor and helmets. These body armors had caused a lot of trouble for her and Barbara. Selina had taken down four of them with all her might, and Barbara had exchanged injuries to take down three of them. Although Selina hadn't been injured herself, she had expended a great deal of energy, and it would take at least half a day for her to fully recover.
Possibly driven by a sense of comparison, she walked over to observe the wounded and found that they were all shot in the hands, feet, and limbs with arrows. She felt secretly pleased; it seemed that Thea had also been struggling with these people's protective gear.
However, her archery skills were indeed good. Selina looked at the wounds on several people and realized that these weren't from high-tech arrowheads like before but rather pure archery skills. Her own ranged attack was somewhat weak, so she wondered if she could learn it. However, Selina quickly gave up the idea. Her fighting style was already established, and adding archery wouldn't help her much.
Moreover, she didn't know how to shoot arrows at all! Theoretically, Batman should know, but she had never seen him use a bow and arrow. She wouldn't even know who to ask if she wanted to learn.
Initially, Selina watched with a comparative mindset as the officers carried the injured downstairs. Soon, however, her expression went from calm to surprised, and finally to thunderstruck.
How did she manage to take down so many enemies by herself? By now, there were already thirty wounded people lying on the ground, all with arrow wounds—some with four or five arrows, others with two or three. From a distance, it looked like they had entered a movie studio after shooting a war scene, with extras playing soldiers lying all over the ground.
Some unfortunate officers had already tried to pull out the arrows on the truck, but Thea and her team had designed the arrows to make the wounds difficult to heal and to cause continuous bleeding. They hadn't thought about post-treatment issues, so all their arrows had barbs. It was fine if they weren't pulled out, but forcibly removing them could be fatal.
One unlucky officer encountered this situation. The small wound, originally the size of a fingertip, became a large hole the size of an arm when he pulled it out forcefully. Blood gushed out like a fountain. Luckily, thanks to the excellent quality of training at the Gotham Police Academy, he managed to find a piece of cloth to cover the wound and barely saved the thug's life.
This scene was witnessed by many people, and several other officers dared not easily pull out the arrows. Leaving them in was better than risking death. Besides, the arrows weren't lodged in their own bodies, so they just left them there.
With no other options, the officers transported these seeming extras from a movie set back to the camp as they were. The ground was now littered with them, awaiting medical assistance.
