Rooftop Rendezvous

After Starfire had finished packing up a few things we teleported back to my apartment in Gotham. She seemed surprised by how much smaller my place in Gotham was. I had to explain to her that this is where I lived before, I had powers and money and the fact that I had both was a secret between the two of us. Which she agreed to surprisingly easily.

As it was late and we still haven't eaten I decided to take her to eat one of my favorite foods, ramen. Grabbing her hand, I instantly took us to an alley in Tokyo, not far away from a hole-in-the-wall ramen shop I discovered on one of my many adventures. We sat down and ordered some spicy miso ramen at my recommendation.

When the food came, she seemed to struggle with the chopsticks but eventually got the hang of it once I showed her how to hold them properly. Once we were done, we walked around for a bit then decided to head back to my place in Gotham since even though it was still light out in Tokyo it was nighttime on the east coast. When we got back, we went for a couple of rounds in the shower before cleaning up and going to bed.

The next morning, I said goodbye to Starfire and left for school. Once I was there, I greeted Barb she seemed worn out I assumed that something had happened with her nighttime activities.

"You look tired," I told her.

"Gee, thanks" she quickly responded sarcastically.

"You know what I meant, having trouble sleeping?"

"I guess you could say that"

"Well, good luck with whatever you're dealing with," I said not wanting to pry too much lest she return the courtesy. I returned to my seat and waited for school to end.

Once school was out, I decided to make a call to Gotham's number-one thief as she was the only person that could help with what I needed. I could probably get in touch with the Penguin as he usually stayed at the Iceberg Lounge but I honestly didn't want to have any sort of relationship with him.

"Hello? I didn't expect you to call" I heard Catwoman say when she answered the phone.

"Yeah, me either, I actually need your help I'll pay you for your time"

"Oh, what do you need?"

"I need an identity for someone" When I said this the phone went silent before I heard her response.

"Hmm, how about you help me with my next job and we'll call it even," I thought about it for a moment, and as long as she wasn't stealing something dangerous like kryptonite or some kind of weapon I wasn't opposed to helping out.

"Ok, what do I have to do?"

"We'll talk details in person just meet me at the usual spot."

"Ok"

Once we met up, she quickly deviled the details of the job, it was pretty simple I just had to get her inside and out of a place she had been casing recently that had pretty tight security. Since I had called, she didn't have to put in all the hard work of coming up with a plan. Thinking to myself that this was a pretty even exchange I decided to agree.

"Deal"

"Purrfect I'll be in touch," she said before turning away and disappearing along the rooftops.

"Really going all out on the cat theme," I said to no one in particular before similarly making myself scarce.

The rest of the week went by without anything noteworthy happening. I brought Starfire to Wildcats gym after school so I could continue my training. For dinner we would I would take her to different places around the world. She seemed to really enjoy hotdogs with mustard or really anything with mustard on it. Overall, when I wasn't in school, we pretty much just spent the week enjoying each other's company.

Until finally Friday came and I had just gotten a call from Catwoman to meet up at the usual spot. Once I hung up, I told Starfire that I had to do a job and that I'd be back later with her new identity. When she found out that the job, I was doing was in exchange for her new identity so she could go to school she made a pretty strong argument for me to take her. I had to explain that this was more of a stealth mission so there wouldn't be any fighting. When she heard that she got a sad look on her face leading me to think for a bit before I told her that she could be the lookout watching out of sight from above to make sure everything went smoothly. But I stressed the importance of her staying out of sight I didn't want anyone to associate her with whatever artifact Selina ended up stealing.

I wasn't worried about myself since the only reputation I had was stealing from criminals and even then, I stuck to the mostly normal ones like the mob never going after the truly crazy ones. I had also never been caught on camera stealing from any banks which I hadn't done for a while.

Once we had suited up with me wearing my Nomad suit and Starfire wearing the outfit, she arrived on Earth in. We decided to head out to meet Selina with Starfire leaving her glamour charm at home. We traversed the rooftops toward the meeting spot. Once we met up with Catwoman she was standing with her back to us looking at the cityscape when she turned around, she seemed surprised that there was another person.

"Good you're here… and who's this?"

"Hmm well this is my new partner; she'll be our look out a pair of eyes in the sky if you will"

"Yeah, nice to meet you or whatever let's go already"

"It is nice to meet you as well," Starfire said

"Alright now grab onto my hand so I can take us over," I said holding out both my hands.
