A Bad Omen

The duo soon found themselves on a rocky plateau. Immediately, the two noticed a young muscular man with blonde hair. He was already locked in battle with hundreds of humanoid fish monsters. This man seemed to be a bit hungover. Was he an alcoholic?

'That should be Arthur Curry. He's fighting Trenchers…Ah, so it's the origin of Aqua Man…' Sora thought.

Beside him was a beautiful young woman dressed in skin tight armor. She stood above a water tornado and wore a tiara on her head. Long red hair flowed down her back. Her bright green eyes were focused on the battle.

"Mera, there's too many!" Arthur exclaimed while crushing a skull with his bare hands.

"We must find an opening and escape." Mera responded.

Flash nodded to Darkstar and accelerated forward. It was their turn. The sleepy man cracked his neck before flashing into the battlefield. His hand was like a sword as he chopped through these creatures like wheat.

Mera and Arthur were extremely satisfied with the backup. It was unknown how long they'd been fighting. The two Atlanteans were good fighters. The woman used the water to form a plethora of weapons and attacks. Aqua Man was like a brawler who fought in bars. They each had their own style.

Sometime during the fight, Sora had materialized his greatsword. A smile immediately graced his face. It was still in the same form as when he fought Trigon. The universe could be seen within. His twilight greatsword, his star saber, his darklight claymore. He could call it many things, as it could take on any form.

This meant that he was improving. His strength was growing exponentially. He liked it. Without saying much, he continued to sweep through the horde. One swing would obliterate an entire section of enemies. It was pretty casual for Darkstar.

The only problem was that they kept coming. More and more trenchers jumped out of the water. It was a mystery how so many of them existed. As the fight continued, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman came down from the sky. That wasn't all.

BOOM

A single figure slammed into the plateau. A large crater formed due to the impact. Once the dust cleared, everyone could see an angry Superman floating above a pile of corpses. His eyes shined red with energy.

"Retreat." He barked.

It was only one word and the trenchers were already frozen in fear. They immediately ran back into the water. It was as if they could sense something that others couldn't. Sora frowned.

'That's all it took? Damn, I must not be as intimidating huh? I also don't remember him being this heavy handed.' He thought.

The kryptonian was aggressive. Much more so than the memories Sora had. It wasn't a bother though. Superman's aggression would be good for the world. Enemies would think twice before plotting on Earth.

He soon locked eyes with Darkstar. Suddenly, his whole demeanor changed. It turned into a light hearted smile. With blood on his hands, he went for a handshake.

"Darkstar. Good to see you."

"...Likewise, Superman."

"I hope I wasn't too late."

"Just in time. It looks like you got stronger."

"Stronger? Maybe. I think I'm just trying harder." The kryptonian commented.

"...That works too."

Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Flash all watched with bated breath. They still remembered the last interaction between Darkstar and Superman. It was implied that they didn't really like each other. Looks like it was all in their head. Everything was fine!

Darkstar went over to the Amazon next. They clasped each other's forearm. It was a greeting only warriors knew of. Her worries quickly disappeared.

"...Warrior. What's wrong? You looked a bit nervous a second ago."

"It's nothing. I guess I was thinking a bit too hard about things." She answered.

The two conversed for a while in order to catch up. His gaze would fall to her body a few times, subtly appreciating her curves. She was quite perceptive so it was easy to notice.

"My eyes are up here, Darkstar." She spoke quietly. The sleepy man scratched his head.

"Apologies. I couldn't help but notice how…fit you are for battle." He answered smoothly. The Amazon couldn't help but smile.

"Your sentiment is well received."

Mera and Arthur stepped into the conversation. Green Lantern and Flash patted Sora's shoulder. There wasn't much to say. When you were cool with someone, only a hello was really needed.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we need to move." Mera spoke. Arthur was right behind her.

Everyone looked in the direction she was staring at. Far along the coast was a massive tidal wave. It was directly above the Atlantean army, ready to drown the city.

"Yeah…we should deal with that." Green Lantern muttered.

The group immediately flew off to the city. Aqua Man and Mera shot through the water like missiles. Superman had a peaceful smile on his face the entire way. Interesting. What was he so happy about?

"So what's the plan?" He asked. Darkstar shrugged.

"Green Lantern and I can make a wall of hard light. That could work."

The green hero heard Sora's words and blanched. He immediately flew beside them. Only then did he speak.

"You want to put up a wall across the entire coast? That's crazy."

"For you maybe." The sleepy man quipped.

"Ouch. Burn."

"Don't worry, we'll help each other."

"If you say so." After Green Lantern's words, Wonder Woman spoke up.

"Warrior, I'm sure you have a way to surpass this obstacle?" She asked with a smile. Sora raised an eyebrow.

"Hmmm…Maybe. Who knows?"

"Acting mysterious? I don't think this is the time for it." Superman spoke up.

"Alright alright. Let me see what I can do. Last resort is freezing it with your breath." Darkstar relented.

"Fine."

Right as the group moved to subdue the tidal wave, it stopped. The waves opened up to reveal the Atlantean army inside. Futuristic tanks and drones were all across the area. There was some heavy firepower. Sora couldn't help but speak without turning his head.

"...Looks like we don't need to deal with it."

"I guess so." Superman responded.

His smile hadn't left yet. For only a split second, the kryptonian's eyes turned black. It immediately returned to normal as if nothing ever happened. Sora's body shivered for a moment as he felt something disgusting. His light sense immediately scanned the entire planet…and he found nothing.

'I thought I felt the presence of an Aragami. Was I just overreacting? Was it a premonition?' He thought with a frown.

The young Lockhart scanned the world a few more times and came up with nothing. After shrugging it off, he focused on the Atlantean army before him. This was the current problem after all.

In front of this aquatic army was a single man in royal armor. It was the same guy from the broadcast. He was the one who declared war. It was King Orm.

The U.S. Army was stationed on the edge of the coast. Both armies faced each other. An American general raised a megaphone to his mouth.

"Atlanteans! This is General Sam Lane of the United States Army. Stand down or we will shoot!" He declared. Orm raised his trident.

"I am King Orm of Atlantis, General. And you are in no position to issue orders. Kill the humans! For Atlantis!" The king roared.

""For Atlantis!"" The soldiers chanted before charging in.

Hmmm. Something isn't quite right.
