Chapter 448 Dazzling Final Chapter (Part 2)_2

"Hey, weird clown! Why haven't you made your move yet?!"

"Quickly, kill him! Otherwise, he'll even lift this house, and we'll be crushed to death!"

"Yeah, what if that monster goes berserk? You're being irresponsible for our lives, why don't you kill him quickly?!"

Because of the previous collision, most people were injured to some extent. These elites were mostly not from modest origins, but were pampered since childhood. The pain made their emotions increasingly extreme, everyone screamed for the Joker to kill Clark quickly.

"Can you feel it?" Jack said with a smile to Batman, "They're afraid, they're scared now. But not because of you."

"What they fear is this Clark Kent guy, guess why? Because he has hurt them, they've felt the pain, and they're afraid of the greater pain that might follow."

"Batman, perhaps you never expected that one day, the person that can instill the most fear in everyone would not be you."

"If you want to reclaim that title, it's simple. They fear something more than pain, something that you understand better than I do."

Jack extends his arms again, spinning to the center of the courtyard, looking up at the crowd, pointing at them, saying to Batman:

"They are just a bunch of ungrateful villains, even if you kill them, you would be upholding justice!"

"Have a think!" Joker let out a chain of chuckles, saying, "when the performers in a show follow the script and defeat the terrible monster, but are killed by the audience who storm the stage. How humorous."

Batman didn't look at Joker Jack, instead he turned his head, looking at Joker Schiller, with a very certain tone he said, "This is a dream, right?"

"Why do you think so?" Joker Schiller didn't turn back, still staring at Clark, seemingly curious about his reaction.

Batman, however, suddenly became anxious because Schiller's tone was all too familiar, like every time when he came to Schiller's office and answered his questions.

"Timeline doesn't match, there are other strange details, most importantly, you're not Joker…"

"Why don't you think I am?"

"Professor Shearer is not the Joker."

Joker Schiller finally stood up from in front of Clark, he came face to face with Batman, staring at him, asking:

"If this is a dream, what do you plan to do? Do you think you can break free?"

"What you don't know is that, since the last time I entered a dream, I have been able to control the power inside me." Batman squinted, referring to the black surge that erupted from his dream.

"That's enough to shatter this dream."

As soon as he finished, the ground began to tremble slightly, and then the tremor grew increasingly violent, with the entire Mayor's Manor starting to sway. Everyone turned their heads to look out the window, towards the direction of the "rumbling" wave sound.

At the end of the horizon, a black line suddenly appeared, then in a blink of an eye, it was right before our eyes. The endless black wave, like an all-consuming gluttonous beast.

The highest wave peak was far more significant than the top of the Mayor's Manor. In front of this giant black beast, the grand manor seemed as trivial as a grain of sand on a beach.

In the instant the wave hit, the window shattered, and the black tide, like a blast of water, directly hit the two farthest from the courtyard.

They didn't even have the chance to scream. When the tremendous pressure from the water hit, they turned into shards of flesh, and blood spurting out together with their limbs, hit the courtyard railing, and fell into the banquet hall.

In that moment, the black tide stopped, and Batman's expression froze.

Because everything was too real.

Blood dropped onto Batman's mask, the strong smell of blood invaded his nostrils, among the shattered limbs the minute muscle tissue was visible, fat, organs, brains, all were clear to see.

All of a sudden, the banquet hall burst into a wave of intense laughter, Joker Schiller was practically doubled-over laughing.

Soon, he slowly stood up, looking at Batman, "Did you forget? I am a psychology professor."

"Why didn't you consider that this could be a trap I set?"

"Deliberately doing the wrong things at the wrong time, creating bizarre details, arranging an illogical plot, making you think this is all a dream..."

"But what if I tell you, this isn't a dream?"

Batman's hands started to tremble, the heavy smell of blood surrounded him, those people who witnessed their companions' death erupted in fear-filled screams, their wails, cries, and sobbing seemed oh-so real.

"...Impossible." Batman managed to keep his last shred of rationality, but his voice started to tremble, "I don't have this kind of power in the real world."

"Is that right? What about that battle that took place above Living Hell?"

But then, Joker Schiller suddenly said:

"Your assumption was right, this is indeed a dream."

This answer was like the final curtain call of the performance. But some comedies only actually begin after the curtain falls, Joker Schiller's ups and downs in his tone echoing around the banquet hall:

"Batman, you fancy yourself a hero upholding justice, walking under Gotham's dark night, considering yourself Gotham's god."

"But when you fight against crime, when you use those advanced gadgets to beat up those criminals until they squeal in pain, breaking their bones, hearing their cries ..."

"The motivation behind your actions, does it indeed come from your kindness and justice, or, does playing the role of a god with the power to kill or let live, bring you joy?"

Joker Schiller used his hand to wipe off the blood on his face, unlike the other Joker, his face didn't always have a mocking smile, he was more like a philosopher.

"Answer me, Batman."

"Just now, just the moment I told you it might not be a dream..."

"Look at them..." Joker Schiller extended his hand to point at the severed limbs on the floor, "Look at this bunch of weak pathetic creatures, these ungrateful Judas' who send their benefactors to the gallows..."

"Look at this bunch of villains who made you witness all this, made you feel a deep disappointment with humanity..."

"Look at them, receiving their due punishment because of your divine power..."

"When you learned, they were paying the price, not just waking up from a nightmare, but really being killed by you, torn apart, ground to pieces, dying in intense pain —"

"Didn't you feel like laughing, even for a moment?"
