Tower (3)

Takaki grinded his teeth and shouted at the scene in front of him:

"You crazy bastards! Why are you doing this when we can end it without fighting…"

Hideki laughed.

"We could end it without fighting. But it seems like if we were to do so here then we would get eaten by those who had fought and won. That's what I've had to go through."

"Fuck…"

While Takaki grinded his teeth, Hideki clicked his tongue inwardly.

"It's going to take all day."

As soon as his words ended, Hideki rushed out and swung his sword around him.

Kwadududk.

Ududuk.

"Kuaaaak!"

Gata, who had been off guard, had his wrist cut off.

He had tried to dodge backwards because he wasn't that dull but his wrist had flown off because there was a bit too much difference from the start.

Everyone who had seen this started to crazily head behind Takaki.

They had all realized.

That they would all die if this was to continue.

That guy was a maniac.

"You bastard!"

The opponent was two.

But it was two of the three strongest people here.

Wait there's, Six others joined their side having similar minds on the matter.

'Damnit, the situation just got worse. Two of the strongest plus six not that side and Twelve of them on this side. They had numbers by they had quality.'

"Fuck surround them!"

'Damn… and that guy was hiding his true strength.'

Gata grinded his teeth as he looked at Hideki.

He had known that he was strong but for him to be this strong.

One could see how much muscle they had by looking but there was no way to find out about the number of runes they had before they get into a full head on clash.

If one were to hide their skills like that then there was no way to know.

They would not be an opponent if they didn't group up with Takaki as the center.

Hideki smirked as he saw this.

"Damn. It's the opposite effect. I had done it to get you guys to this side. Then there's only six people along with this lady?"

It was a disadvantageous situation from one point of view but Hideki didn't mind it as he charged towards Takaki, the difference wasn't that huge.

And a sword fight had occurred after the other people had also charged in.

"This bitch! Die."

"You fucker! Getting blinded by the artifact!"

Hideki and Karin were strong but Takaki was not a pushover either and they also had an advantage in numbers.

And everyone, excluding Gata who was rendered unable to fight, started to send off a bloodthirsty aura from all around.

No. There was still another person who was not involved in the sword fight.

"Hey Kato…"

"U…uuu….."

The child who had barely held a sword up against the beasts was scared out of her wits and could not get near as the people started to clash with each other.

Gata who had been clutching onto his wrist looked at her with a sad expression.

Words of her having to help out had came up to his throat.

But he couldn't say so after seeing a child who was so scared.

'Damn…Hideki this bastard…'

Gata tried to heal his wrist with all his strength but it seemed like he won't be able to for a while because the ligaments in both of his hands had been cut off.

And soon after the fight had ended.

"Kuuu…"

"Kuuk…"

The result was that Hideki and Karin had won.

The skills which Hideki had hidden was really much higher than the norm.

They had both become bloody but the others could not even stand and were all rolling about the floor with painful expressions.

Karin grinned as she looked at that Hideki.

"Heeee… you fight well enough. But why didn't you try to kill any of them? Is there a reason for that?"

Everyone had fallen to the ground but none had died.

Of course they had their wrists cut off and had suffered extreme injuries so they were unable to fight but they were still alive.

Hideki laughed as he spoke.

"Who says I'll let them stay that way. Time to kill…"

At that moment Hideki's expression froze frightfully.

And then he pushed Karin away.

"What are you…"

And in the spot where Karin had fallen from, a sword had flown past it with extreme speed.

And the sword continued to swerve as it stabbed Hideki.

'Shit I should've let it hit her !'

Karin was able to dodge barely but still had a deep wound on her shoulder and Hideki's heart was punctured from that.

"Kuuuk…"

Hideki mumbled at the handle of the sword which had gone through him.

A speed which was not even comparable to the fight before.

Hideki coughed out some blood as he looked at Shinichi who had thrown the sword.

"You… your skills… why did you stand still if you were this good, no why did you fight so half heartedly before you bastard?"

Shinichi laughed coldly as he answered:

"Tactics old fellow, tactics, you all looking down on a teenager like me would usually cause unhappiness to any other teenager but I was overjoyed, it is so easy to kill someone when they look down on you."

Hideki lusted for number one but even he couldn't take it with so many remaining, setting for door number 8, would be good. Sadly his ambition died here.

Shinichi Takayuki, was 18 years old but he was the winner of the junior league chess international tournament. He was already a grandmaster tactician who bred his innate talents by studying historical wars and other forms of chess such as those in China and Korea as well as his own culture's.

He was cursed and looked down on since young for his nerdiness and his good looks despite that, he lived in a poor neighborhood so it was primitive in such interactions.

He was the oddity in the family, his father was actually a macho man with ripped muscles but both his mother and he were ordinary looking and of average intelligence. He was a leap in the gene pool grade as he liked to call it but he loved them nonetheless as they loved him.

They did their best to supply him with the books he couldn't get at the library and were his emotional support as well.

Sadly they died this year and just when he was at his lowest this happened. He was transported to another world. He was a nerd and it was every nerd's dream. Instantly revitalized he excitedly explored... but this world was horrifying and brutal.

Were it not for the trait he awakened he would be dead, no were it not for his drive to live for his parents as well he would be dead.

<Brain Boost> was a trait that was self explanatory, it boosted his brain capacity and thought processes by two increments for a short while which was gold for the poor in his situation. It actually enhanced or more accurately fully utilized his body's potential, for example his senses amplified by runes stayed the same but he understood them more.

He was able to think on one sense and then the ability activated boosting that particular sense, his sense of smell that recognized the scent of a tree, recognized that it had been raining, or insect fecal matter and the like.

It boosted his battle ability as well giving him the buttons and the control panel to add to the steering wheel of his muscle control.

If that wasn't enough he had awakened the trait, Library as well. Which would most likely prove useful later. He managed to pull ahead the average Joe with his first trait and when he awakened his second in the previous room he lengthened the distance.

Back to the present situation,

A few already died from the battle he had let Hideki kill the ones on the ground before attacking.

He also had a wide wound in his abdomen.

It was going to be even more dangerous from now on, it'll be troublesome if he proceeded without taking care of such things.

'Tsk. Though it'll heal… it hurts like hell.'

As soon as the room opened everybody would get healed.

Of course there's nothing they could do about the ones who were dead.

Suddenly three people suddenly spoke up and surrounded one person, Karin.

"Ha. What do you have to rely on now bitch"

Karin gritted her teeth while clutching the wound that nearly took her life, she was rapidly losing blood and hadn't even died yet when the vultures came to peck at her soon to be corpse.

'Damnit'

"Let's talk about this, I'm dying but I still haven't tasted a man. How about you boys come over to fulfill my last wish"

She seductively lured them over and they came with lewd looks on their faces without so much as a second thought, she was quite the beauty after all and all of them had such thoughts.

She didn't resist and they stripped off her clothes.

"Hee hee we'll show you a good time won't we boys."

"Yea"

The moment they took off their pants to show off their rock hard tools she suddenly got up seductively and stroked the one at front with one hand while sucking off the one on the left.

With her left hand she... The man on the right was expectant put all he felt was sharp pain, he yelped but it sounded like a moan and the other two were busy not to mention she hand twisted her body to block them.

A dagger was in his heart.

In a split second she quickly dispatched them while bleeding out.

She looked at the runes that fell and their faces.

"Disgusting foolish pigs ."

The rest in the room most of all those who were women, eyes gleamed at this, there was such a method, but wasn't it quite foolish of those three. It was beyond retarded.

"Ah!"

Karin cried in alarm seeing a regeneration rune but as she reached out to grab it she collapsed from blood loss.

Her vision faded as she saw a figure picking up the rune.

It was Shinichi.

Did he give it to her? No , why should he, he used it himself and collected the rest after killing her unconscious self. This was the world he lived in now and this was only what he should do.

He greedily absorbed the runes ignoring the wary and greedy gazes in the room before leaving. He wouldn't immediately head to next room as his new trait, Library, was pointing him in a direction.

********************

On a island filled with colorful plants was a clan of 30 people, these people were engaged in combat with a sole person dual wielding katanas. He was jumping on the air and also he seemed to be able to predict their movements a little too well.

Shimada, the clan leader gritted his teeth in anger as he commanded his clan to vary their skills in both type and range to disturb his flow, this b*tch appeared out of no where and started to kill, he'd understand if he appeared when he and his men were having fun with that pair of stray women but that was days ago.

Obviously he was just some crazy bastard looking for a fight.

'Damn, what kind of monster is he. We'd definitely win but that cunt made half of our men fall into a literal pit and they couldn't escape despite their enhanced bodies and skills as he had lined the upper areas full of poison.

What a venomous bastard.

His fighting strength was on a while other league as well, he could stand on the air and that caused him to make a wide range of weird quick and effective movements. Not only that but he fought with those blades like an expert as he didn't merely swing them around as they had a mysterious nature of attacking.

He could use a Damn sword to make mid range attacks like some anime character, it wasn't even a skill. The bastard seemed to have eyes on the back of his head and the sky as well, nothing escaped his eye. He reacted almost instantly to any attempt at a co ordination that would ambush or harm him once completed.

Not only that..... His f*cking ring could make skills disappear.

'Is this cunt really at the same stage as us, he isn't an older adventurer is he? Why else are we absolutely no match despite similar levels of runes with only small gaps?'

He had to scrap that thought as the fairy said the tutorial lasted only 3 months. It was highly unlikely, he was summoned the same time as them but he was so strong. He watched as his clansmen were picked off one by one.

Vicente was busy springing Here and there in and off the air and ground, occasionally he'd use the corpses as shields for skills and spin them to attack as well, or throw them to create opportunities. He was mixing up his style each fight and discovering new things each time.

'Time to end this'

Vicente activated his earrings.

<Tekruhal's Earrings>

- Increases agility and perception by 30%

- Luck increased by 20

Luck was naturally a difficult stat to raise, however artifacts like the upcoming <1> prize of the treasure room did the same, the true value was the 30% increase, which could be a game changer in battles.

The single artifact reward of an 80 man room, naturally it had monstrous effects.

"Ahhhh...f-!"

"Help me!"

"Sto-!"

After the screams died down, A figure was seem venturing from corpse to corpse, collecting something from them before heading over to pit in the distance covered with rainbow colored mushrooms and dark red liquid. The silhouette astonishingly directly touched the poisonous substances and cleared up the surface of the hole.

30 greenish human bodies were squirming beneath down in the pit,

'Hm, something's off....ah (epiphany)'

He returned with all the weapons from the fallen thirty and viciously but accurately threw them in the centre of the skulls of those people with greenish complexions below.

What was missing before- the runes- appeared then, he descended amongst the colorful but poisonous beauties of the local plant kingdom and collected his spoils an easy feat that someone without his resistances would be dead at the entrance of the pit and couldn't reach the bottom unless they were free falling.

He jumped out of the hole while touching his ear.

It was the stat screen of a high paid serial killer. He was about the level that Hansoo was after killing the Dark Mad Lord's subordinates and the Lord himself. He had gotten a few sets of good equipment due to his luck stat and his Sixth Sense giving him good targets to plunder.

His running theory for this was that powerful artifacts had a unique aura of sorts and his Sixth Sense was locking on to them, it was the best explanation he had as after getting the earrings, he kept on running into winners of 1st to 5th places of high numbered rooms, he'd yet to gain another artifact at his earrings level though.

He had the necessary techniques, and equipment to climb to the top of the tower after gaining the philosophers stone to turn his artifacts to red rune level.

For now he had to head to the room for treasure hunt.

****************

Elsewhere, on an island called Serpent's nest.

Shinichi leisurely walked while checking his body's status.

'Good. My injuries are fully healed and I've replaced my damaged equipment. Still though, what an immensely useful trait.'

Library was pointing him to a direction with some incredible detail. He had entered a jungle and made several turns, like A GPS was helping him.

"Oi are you sure your trait is telling you the right thing?"

A man with a mangled ear asked while twisting his mouth in displeasure. He was about to answer but didn't have to as someone answered for him.

"Oh chill Hikizuto, he's already proved himself by telling us those details of our how many skills and such we had, without any of us even mentioning it once, that's enough proof "

Daisuke hurriedly waved with a smile while acting as a mediator for the group. Shinichi was slowly being corroded inside from this group. Even before he didn't like grouping up with people as they e eventually proved disappointing.

He had to join a group as even with his traits he wasn't confident in surviving alone.

' The weak congregate to survive, I suppose I haven't escaped the herd.....yet.'

The group despite its shortcomings and rebellious nature, functioned with him as leader due to the useful nature of his traits/trait in this case, a wide man never fully reveals his hand, so he pretended he didn't have two traits, and didn't use a certain prized artifact of his.

In any case, his technical skills were proving quite useful to the group survival.

"Daisuke, go six steps in that direction and watch our flank, Mizuhara go to the vanguard 8 steps.....@=$#$#$$"

The group was 15 members strong which was quite large for a small group which was usually a size smaller.

Hikizuto took his post while grumbling inwardly, he didn't dare whisper as everyone had their perception stat fully operational and at their current level, hearing a whisper at this distance was child's play no, even easier, it was like breathing.

'This b*tch ordering us around like chess pieces, it's so obvious that he was a nerd with a pretty face, I would usually stomp on such bugs but his trait is truly too useful so I'll let him live a while, a treasure is at the centre of this island hm I hope that's true, if it is... it's mine alone.'

Each person more or less had the same thoughts, no thoughts of camaraderie existed at all with the prior events of the fairies interventions having taken place.

Shinichi was coldly putting on a front while pouring out orders constantly as the cobras attacked them.

' So this is what real life chess feels like as a piece and player, Hm. They do exactly as I tell them with no complaints. Although, in the face of riches they might betray me but I'm obviously the better asset to have in the long run. They wouldn't dare.'

It truly was the most logical and smart option to keep someone around with his trait. If it ever came down to it, he could definitely argue his case. The others had similar thoughts but knew they were disposable and kept eyeing each other ever so often.
