A serendipitous encounter

The next day morning,

Dastan and Sarah packed their belongings into the extra pocket and left the city of Zarina on the azure dragon. It radiated a ferocious aura keeping aerial beasts away from them.

The serene atmosphere on the dragon was ruined by a stray shockwave from a nearby battle almost tripping Dastan from the sky. They landed near the fight and observed it from afar.

A boy in tattered robes, bleeding from various locations on his body, ran to them and hid in their back. He glanced fearfully at a group of people heading to them while flexing their fingers.

A huge fire ball the size of an average dog fell upon the trio. The assailants simply laughed expecting to see ashes only to be shocked by the sudden disappearance of fire ball.

Standing majestically in the front of assailants were Dastan and Sarah along with the boy who stood there silent, his jaws agape. A wave of Dastan's hand simply snuffed the fire ball out.

" I never wanted to involve in the fight, it was you guys who attacked us. We are not in the wrong. " spoke Sarah while getting into combat position aiming a bow she literally took out of nowhere.

" Attack!!!! " the leader shouted while running towards Dastan to immobilize him with an unsheathed sword. The assailants started chanting magic spells whilst concentrating mental energy only to be bombarded with a myriad of arrrows becoming human hedgehogs wailing in despair. The leader was hit black and blue by Dastan's punches and his sword lay in pieces having been broken by the arrows.

He yelled in frustration trying to get his Chakra flowing but failed to do so under Dastan's domain. Sarah's arrows contained all the elements becoming an elemental barrage due to hydra's power coursing through her. She literally rained elements that countered the natural elemental nature of the assailants rendering them helpless. Their foolish action of standing in place and chanting made them sitting ducks to the agile Sarah who ran all over the place piercing them in every direction.

The team were quickly subdued, tied up and knocked out cold by the duo. They then turned towards the boy who started shivering again.

" I am Mi guang, I'm from the void parasitic realm. I'm very thankful to you both for saving me. " " Shut up, you are the very reason for them to attack us. Now, explain why you purposefully sent a residual shockwave to trip me over causing us to join the fray. "

The boy gulped fearfully. He slowly stuttered, " Y.. you looked strong as you both were riding such a huge dragon, s.... so... so, " " So, you simply made us get involved in this 😡 " " S... sss.... sorry... "

" Enough, we saved you so get lost, Dastan, let's go. " " wa.... wait!! " "What now, 😡 " " Th.... that, I just wanted to thank you so j... just le... let me do a f.. f.. favour, I'm the d... disciple of clan ch....an elder in the void end clan, here, extend your right thumbs, please... "

Curious, they did as said. The boy grabbed their right thumbs and murmured softly. A burning sensation that turned into numbing sensation was felt by them. glancing at their now released thumbs, they could perceive a faint golden crescent moon tattoo.

Also, Dastan felt an additional hot energy flow into him almost imperceptibly from the boy's hand. The boy winked at the duo before running off into the distance. The duo, surprised, could only shrug, turn around and leave. Only, Dastan was curious at the energy that now settled itself in his veins.
