After the connection with his realm was formed and he verified it was sent where he needed it to be, he opened the realm management interface and started making changes.
He created an enormous 100 mile wide and 100 mile long circular arena where he would train his spells. The arena ground looked like the rest of the realm but the space had moved to look like a pixelism painting of a Yin-Yang but in the form of dragons all encompassed by a slightly raised circular arena wall.
There were 10 seperate raised platforms arranged in a semicircle around the main arena. Each platform was built with different combat dummies spread out on the platforms for him to use his spells.
Robert went to the 1st platform on the far left which he would use for his light shields. The dummies here would launch projectiles towards him to train his shield's defense and his reaction time. The first 5 dummies launched flaming rocks at Robert.
He swiped his both hands from left to right and right to left and two shields of light formed in front of each of his hands. He was able to block all the shots from each dummy and slowly increased the speed at which the shots came at him. He felt like despite the speeds of the shots, they seemed to come at him in slow motion. He then found that he could obviously smack the projectiles away but when he did, they automatically hit the dummies that shot them in the first place.
Robert wasn't worried about the dummy's being destroyed, he made them to automatically regenerate if destroyed, but also gave them the defensive capabilities of Vibranium. Obviously he couldn't make them Vibranium themselves as that metal didn't exist in his realm, but he could simulate it's properties.
He then tried to do what Captain America was known for and threw his shields, that he had conjured on either arm, one after another at two separate dummies that were just made of a simulated combination of reinforced metals.
The shields seemed to rotate at immense speeds and became like a disk of high intensity laser light. When the shields hit the respective dummies, it seemed to disappear and didn't seem to do anything.
Just as Robert frowned at the power of the shields, he saw that the dummies just fell apart. The top of each dummy slid off of the bottom. Robert was stunned by the strength of the shields and he found that based on his simulated metals that were meant to be a more durable metal, he could destroy any kind of metal or object for that matter. At least that was his conjecture, he had to verify with actual metals to confirm his hypothesis.
Robert repeated the process with the simulated vibranium dummies and he found that while they didn't get cut in half, there was a large 1 foot gash in the dummy's waist. This meant that the destructive power of those spinning shields was one of the strongest attacks he has. Again this is all hypothetical until real world tests could be conducted.
Robert had already deactivated the projectiles from the dummies that were shooting fireballs before he had thrown the shields, waited for them to regenerate, then tried one of the last things that he already knew he could do with the shields.
He re-summoned the shields and absorbed both of them and brought his glowing hands together. After he did that, a high intensity light beam came out from his hands and he aimed it at one of the vibranium dummies.
The giant beam of light hit the dummy and it literally melted the dummy. The dummy slowly started falling down as it was melted. Robert couldn't understand why it was so powerful until he remembered a crucial fact from the game.
The light beam was originally used with only one light shield and he used two to make the last light beam. This seemed to have increased the firepower tenfold. He tried it with just one shield and all it did was make the dummy glow red like it was super heated and only barely melted as very small bits of molten metal were seen on the dummy.
Robert then decided to head to another platform and worked on his ice crystal bow and swords. He used stationary and moving dummies for target practice for his bow. He was very bad with shooting accurately with the bow. He only made about half of his shots on the stationary targets and only succeeded on hitting about 5 out of the 50 shots he took on the moving targets. He will have to actually train in archery himself or get training from Hawkeye.
As for the crystal swords, Robert did worlds better than with the bow but he still wasn't a swordsman so he was barely competent enough to call himself a beginner. He did notice something about his bow and swords though, they seemed to be a lot stronger than a normal metal sword or wooden bow. He theorized that they are at least as strong as proto-adamantium but with the power of magic backing it. Real world tests are still needed though.
Robert found himself making that determination a lot. The author probably just wanted the readers to understand that all his power is theoretical at this point.
Robert threw each of the swords at the dummies, the ones made from simulated proto-adamantium froze a little bit pretty easily but there was almost no reaction from the simulated pure adamantium and vibranium dummies.
This helped Robert to come to a realization. The dummies created with his realms power that are made of a simulated type of metal or combination of metals are all given the properties based on his own personal belief of how strong, durable, and resistant the metals were. Essentially if he believed that a metal was indestructible, then the realm would try to emulate that as best as it could.
......
Robert then went to a platform that didn't have any training dummies and wanted to try out other abilities.
He cast fireball in each hand then brought them close together as if he was trying to combine them. What he saw made him feel over the moon with joy.
The fireballs became condensed to one fireball and there was a vertical spinning ring of molten lava rock rotating around the one fireball and when Robert pulled his hands apart in one quick motion, a raised line of molten ground came out from where his hands were situated and the molten ground exploded on impact with a wall.
The results were even better than he expected, but the only problem was that the raised molten ground would stay there until he used the spell again. Robert believed he could rectify this once he gets used to mana manipulation.
Robert used the realm management to make another arena but this one was smaller than the other one he created it had just enough room for around 10 people to fight comfortably. He summoned some dummies but they were able to move by themselves as if controlled by an AI. He decided to try out his force punch.
He clenched his hands in front of himself, then brought his hands out to either side of his body and a ball of clear energy surrounded his hands. The ball of energy moved erratically while encasing his hands. He had the AI controlled dummies attack him and he started to punch each one. Every target he hit was launched about 100 feet from him and the metal dummies were launched half of that distance.
Satisfied with the force punch, Robert decided to test out his Arcane Lightning. He made his hands into fists and brought them towards his body. Then he pushed his fists outwards and they were covered in a film of pale blue lightning. When he opened his hands the lighting shot out into two lines of arcing lightning. When he closed his fists the lightning was instantly cancelled, It was almost like turning off a light.
Robert knew that another ability existed with his Arcane Lightning. He repeated the same gesture to generate the film of lightning but instead of opening his hands fully and aiming forward, he turned his fists toward each other and spread his fingers while curving them to look like a claw, his fingertips almost touching. He brought his claw shaped hands closer and a ball of lightning started to form.
The lightning ball looked like a blue fireball but had lightning arcing off of it and inside it. He then grabbed the lightning ball in one hand and threw it on the ground. A shockwave originating from the impact of the lighting ball exploded outward. It sent all the dummies flying, regardless of if they were metal or not. They seemed to be stunned with arcs of lighting flowing off of them. Robert was sure that if it was used on a human they'd be spasming in pain.
There was one last ability that he was going to use was the Arcane gems now there were two ways to summon it, one was slow the other was fast. Robert prefered the faster way so he reached towards his shoulder and when he brought his hand back down his hand was covered in glowing blue runes and there were 5 small crystals floating above his knuckles. If he punched forward the five crystals would be sent in five directions with his hand as the focal point.
He could also summon the magical film on his hand, that Robert was calling the Rune Glove and he would place either arm in front of himself and spin the arms at opposite directions bring both his hands near each other and close his fists. This summoned 10 floating gems in a circle in front of him, they would remain there until he touched each gem. Each gem he touched would be sent towards the nearest enemy and explode on contact.
Robert used this ability on each of the dummies and some of them had their heads explode after being struck by the gems, while others had holes in their bodies. This was definitely a deadly and gruesome ability.
After 3 months, Robert was finally done with his training, at least for now. He would come back at a later date to attempt other things. He summoned a doorway and it took him back to Kamar Taj.
With what he just did he realized a way to almost teleport by walking in and out of a realm doorway that he summons. Although he found that by trying it again he only came back at the same place so it was more like a way to hide from an attack.
Finally back in the room, Robert walked out into the interior of Kamar Taj and went to look for the Ancient One.
