CHAPTER 4

With the help of an alarm clock by my side I was able to wake up early, luckily for me there were few people awake so I was able to find my way to the arena. Scorpion wasn't here yet so I stood by the corner watching the few people there. I wasn't all perfect when it came to fighting(well my reputation as Dark Rose says otherwise) but I was definitely better than some of them.

I moved a little further and saw some people throwing darts, I always had a thing for darts. I don't want to brag but I think it will be okay if I said I'm very good at it.

"Rose", I turned to the direction of who had called me and saw it was Campion. " hey" I replied.

"Scorpion asked me to come get you"

"I thought we were meant to be training, I've been waiting for him" I asked a little confused as to what she was saying and where she was taking me to.

"Yeah, about that" she stopped walking and turned to me with a look. I know that look all too well because that was the look I got every time the nuns at the orphanage had to sugarcoat to me why I didn't get adopted or why I got returned.

"What is it" I asked ready for the worst to come. "Scorpion kinda decided that it would be better if you started off with some paper work first"

" I don't understand what you mean by that", she scratched the back of her neck clearly confused about what to say " I think its better if he explains it to you".

She turned and opened the door to a class room, we walked in and Scorpion was there with the rest of the team which consisted of Saola, Jade, Vaquita.

"Here" Scorpion said while handing me a book. "What's this" I asked while going through it.

"That's a guide. You are going to sit here and read it while the rest of the group trains". I looked at him and to everyone else who all seemed to be avoiding eye contact with me.

" am I being punished for something"

"No. The book is meant to guide you through fighting, after reading you'll take a test which will determine if you are ready to move to the next stage or not".

"Ok" I sat on a chair while they all walked out but I didn't miss Jades pitiful eyes.

I looked at the clock above me and noticed that I had been sitting here for the past 3 hours.

Just then the door opened and David walks in. "Hey" I said smiling at him. "Hey" he replied.

"If I may ask, why are you here all alone" he asked while sitting and I turned to face him completely.

"Well Scorpion says I have to study for this test before I move to the next stage, here I am"

"Okay. Actually Lucy wants to see you. Its time for you first session".

" what is she a shrink" I asked making a mocking face

"I believe the right term is therapist"

"Fine, I better get going then".

I got up picked my book, waved David goodbye and then left. My session with Lucy wasn't actually bad, she just wanted me to express my feelings like most therapists.

I was on my way back to my room when I saw Jade." Hey how was training" I asked while hugging her.

"It was frustrating but bearable. Actually I was just looking for you"

"Really? Why?"

"Well actually Scorpion sent me to you"

"I guess its time for my test right?"

"Yep".

My test was actually not hard at all. There were no twists in the questions, and when I was done I checked the guide for answers to questions I could remember just to be sure.

"Wait what?"

I couldn't believe how possible it was for me to fail my test.

I received my 4th test results some minutes after I finished having some fun with the team(yes I took the test 4 times). But what I don't understand is how possible it was for me to fail.

Personally, I think Scorpion failed me on purpose. How do I know, well, firstly he refused to talk to me today. He was being soo formal, he won't even stay in the same room with me.

"Maybe there was something I did wrong, I'll just take the test again" I turned to look at Jade and she was looking at me like I was insane.

"Rose maybe you should just talk to Scorpion about this. I mean this is the 4th test you have taken today and you keep failing each one"

"Just tell Saola to prepare another test for me. I just need a few minutes to take my mind off things" I said as I walked out of the team hangout zone.

I ended up in the arena throwing darts, this is way my of cooling off. I was obviously angry that I failed a lot of tests but I was not ready to face Scorpion about it, I think its because I'm giving the respect of being my team captain.

I failed again but this time I went to talk to Scorpion about it, he was training the others on some sort of hacking technique and that's where I was headed. I stood by the door watching him explain to them the easiest ways to go about it, he turned to me when he noticed my presence but quickly looked away. A few moments later he let them try it on their own so I took that as my opportunity and walked up to him, "can I talk to you?" I asked

"we have nothing to talk about"

"what do you mean we have nothing to talk about" my patience was wearing thin and honestly the end result would not be good for either of us. he walked past me and kept pretending like I wasn't even there.

"okay this is just childish. I have taken the test five times and for some reason you keep failing me, was there something I did or said to you because at this point I don't even know what to think of. I am trying so fucking hard to give you the respect you deserve but I don't think you deserve any with the attitude you have right now. You know what, I don't even care i demand that you give me a pass because on no account will I sit back and watch as you degrade me of every fucking bit of intelligence I have, and trust me I will fight you if that's what I have to do to get you to some this shit" I finished with a deep breath while staring him in the eyes the whole time. I was very sure that what I said got to him but what he said next was what I wasn't prepared for at all.

"how do you guys think she did"

"she lasted longer than I thought" Saola said, at this point I was extremely confused.

Campion and Jade came up to me and hugged me while saying welcome to the team, Jade noticed the look on my face so she started explaining.

" The guys thought it would be a good idea to prank you to fully welcome you into the team"

" I must say I didn't expect you to be that dumb, I mean who does paper work in martial arts", I turned to glare at Scorpion after he said that. I was not offended at all but I had to get him back for what he did to me so I kept glaring at him.

" stop look at me like that"

" we were just trying to have some fun"

" fine, I'm sorry", I smiled after hearing that. we turned to notice the tam was looking at us.

" let's get back to work" Scorpion said before any of them had the chance to comment.
