Chapter 50: I'll accept the surgery

Ashlyn walked through the corridor with shaky legs. She had just left Kelvin's office and what he said was still piercing her heart but she couldn't even cry. Where was her tears when she needed it? It was nowhere to be found. Her face had turned pale and her lips became dry. She wasn't her usual elegant self.

Reaching the room where her mother was, she stood at the door trying to contain her aching heart. Taking a deep breath, she slowly opened the door and she saw her mother still lying on the bed while talking with Owen who was sitting down on a plastic chair by the side of the hospital bed.

Mrs Pedro and Owen turned to Ashlyn immediately they heard the door sound and both of them had different expressions on their face with different meanings. For Owen, his expression was a mixture of concern and curiosity. Concerned for Ashlyn and curious about what she had discussed with Kelvin.
