"What do you mean by that?" Leah asked.

"When you brought her right hand up to your hair, I noticed something on your wrist," Ami paused.

Leah asked. "What did you notice?" when Ami was taking too long to answer.

Ami let out a heavy sigh.

"Did Lucius bite you," Ami asked and Leah shook her head. "Are you sure he didn't bite you?" Ami asked again.

"Yes I'm sure. Why are you even asking all this?" Leah asked but Ami was silent. "Ami, say something. You're starting to scare me."

"I noticed a mark on your right wrist," Ami said. "It's a blood slave mark, something that vampires stopped using a long ago."

Leah was taken aback by Ami's revelation. She looked at her right wrist and saw a faint mark that she had never noticed before. Her heart began to race as she realized what it could mean.

"What do you mean, blood slave?" Leah asked, her voice trembling.

Ami sighed and looked at Leah sympathetically. "In the past, vampires used to keep women with special blood as their blood slave. They would mark their slaves by biting them, it's like a collar or an ownership mark. It was a way for them to keep track of their property."

Leah felt sick in her stomach. The thought of being marked by a vampire have always been one of her worst nightmare. "But you said they stopped using this mark a long time ago. Why would he mark me with this particular mark?"

Ami hesitated before answering. "Vampires in the past only used that mark for special slaves. It's possible that Lucius must be really desperate to keep you there, or he..."

Leah cursed as the call started crackling and then disconnecting due to poor network reception. She checked the phone and saw that the network bars were at zero, making it impossible for her to even call Ami again.

Her attention was then drawn to the darkened weather outside her window. It looked like there was going to be a heavy downpour, which only added to her frustration.

She decided not to bother trying to call Ami back. Instead, she logged out from her social media account and deleted it from Lucius phone.

Dumping the phone on the bed, Leah paced back and forth with her hands on her waist, her mind racing with thoughts. She was angry, frustrated and confused about the whole situation.

She couldn't understand why Lucius had lied to her and marked her without her consent. She refused to believe that he had done it just to make her a... she couldn't get herself to think or even mention those two words.

Leah got up from the bed, pacing back and forth, with her hands on her waist. Her mind was racing with different thoughts.

Leah groaned in anger as she moved towards the door. She was about to grab the door handle when it suddenly opened from the other side, revealing Lolly standing there with an old wooden box of medium size cradled in her arms.

A warm smile appeared on Lolly' face immediately she saw Leah standing there. Lolly gestured towards the box she was holding, clearly eager to share whatever was inside with Leah.

"I found thi..."

"Where is Lucius?" Leah asked coldly, cutting her off from what she wanted to say.

The sudden question and tone in Leah's voice caught Lolly off guard, and the smile immediately died down from her face.

"I don't know where the master is, but I think his attending to some business matters with his brother," Lolly replied, not understanding why Leah was suddenly looking for the master and why she seemed angry.

"Tell him that I need to see him, now," Leah ordered.

"I'll do that right away." Lolly leaves the door with the box after saying so.

Leah slammed the door and walked over to the side table and picked up a glass of water. She gulped a few sips and dropped the cup back before sitting on the bed.

Just a week ago, her life was normal, the way she wanted but now she was tangled up with a crazy, lying vampire. Leah Snickered, mocking herself for thinking her life would be okay forever just because these past few years has been normal for her.

Being marked by a vampire was every hunters nightmare. It didn't matter if it was a blood slave mark or any other mark, it is still bad for a hunter, because with normal humans, any mark can be broken with a spell or other method, but with a hunter it is irreversible.

There is no way Lucius didn't know about this before going ahead to bite her and placing a mark on her without her notice. Leah tried recalling when he must have bitten her but she couldn't remember any moment when it could have happened.

She glanced at the door, her anger and frustration only growing as neither Lucius or even Lolly was walking through the door. She had a habit to smash things when she was angry, and the more she waited the more the urge to break something only increased.

Leah groaned in vexation and stood up from the bed, heading towards the door, she was done waiting for some meaningless explanation that wasn't even going to change anything. She was leaving this place. She left the room leaving the door open.

...

The sky had darkened to a deep shade of grey, and the rain had started pouring down in torrents. Lucius stood by the grand entrance of the mansion, his slightly damp hair falling in loose strands around his face. He had a serene expression on his features as he stretched out his hand under the rain, feeling the cold droplets falling on his palm in a continuous rhythm.

William approached him from the rain, looking completely drenched from head to toe. Water dripped down his face and clothes, leaving him shivering in the cold.

"I couldn't find Kat," William informed Lucius, his voice slightly muffled by the sound of the rain.

He wiped the water from his face with his wet palm, his eyes scanning Lucius's face for any sign of concern.

"I will continue the search once the rain subsides," William added, to which Lucius simply nodded.

"I hope she doesn't regain her powers before the rain stops," Lucius replied, his hand still outstretched under the pouring rain.

The chain that had been used on Kat, had neutralized her powers, but without the chain now, it was only a matter of time before the witch regained her full strength.

William glanced up at the sky before replying. "It won't rain for much longer. I'll find her before her powers have fully restored," he said confidently, meeting Lucius's gaze.

"Don't underestimate the weather," Lucius said, withdrawing his hand from the rain before glancing at William. "Or Kat. Both can be unpredictable at times."

Lucius turned to glanced at Lolly who he sensed approaching him. She was looking breathless and completely soaked with her shoes muddy.

Lucius furrowed his brows, examining her as she approached him and William.

"Mind telling me what you were doing out in the rain?" he asked her sternly, his expression serious.

"I was... I was looking for you, Master, when the rain... the rain caught up to me," Lolly replied, her words coming out in gasps as she struggled to catch her breath.

Lucius's frown deepened. "Why were you looking for me?" he asked, his gaze shifting to her muddy shoes and the footprints she had left behind on the floor.

"Miss Leah wants to see you, it's urgent, Master," Lolly said, rubbing her palms together. Her small figure was shaking from being drenched in the rain and cold.

"Did something happen?" Lucius asked her, his frown mellowing down.

Lolly shook her head. "No, I don't think so. I'm not really sure. She seemed upset about something when she sent me to get you, Master," Lolly replied.

"Lucius will check on Miss Leah," William said when he noticed how cold the young girl looked. "Why don't you go ahead and change your clothes."

Lolly glanced at him, then back at Lucius, as if she was waiting for his permission to leave. Lucius waved his hand at her, and she turned to leave.

"Lolly," Lucius called out to her, and she immediately turned to face him. "Yes, Master."

"Take off your shoes. You're soiling the floor," Lucius said, his eyes settling on her shoes as he spoke.

"I'm sorry, Master," Lolly replied quickly, taking off her shoes before walking away.

"How long is she going to keep addressing you like that?" William asked Lucius as soon as the girl was out of earshot.

"She will stop soon," Lucius replied before walking away towards the stairs.

As he arrived at Leah's room, he frowned upon noticing the slightly ajar door. He was about to knock, but instead, he pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was empty, and Leah's scent was very faint in the air, as if she had been gone from the room for a long time. He stepped out of the room to search for her, wondering if she had come out to look for him.
