The chase

A few days and nights passed without any danger. "odd isn't it" max said looking out to the distance. We were on the second last day of the ships travel path but our stop was today.as we approached port I noticed that it was one tiny building and tress as far as the eye could see which were covered in snow.

I gulped as I didn't bring any winter cloths with me so I went to find master Ketia he along with Hailey were in the library as they both love reading and Hailey was really interested in Master Ketia's homeland which shares a border with valentine a large country filled with exotic animals.

"master I don't have winter clothes with me" I said feeling quite foolish as he and Hailey both had the same look on their faces.

Hailey rolled her eyes as Master Ketia just smiled and handed me a piece of gum "eat this young Nak when we get on land. I put in my pocket as the announcer was calling for all passengers who are getting of crackabalkin to prepare to onboard.

As that was are stop, we all went and got are luggage since we travel a lot Max's, mine and master Ketia's luggage was light, but Hailey had none as she used magic. I was starting to come around to the fact that I was in love with a witch. 

Only us four stood and the barely holding together pier, each step we took towards the very square concrete building caused the boards underneath our feet to crick and moan. I carefully held Hailey's hand as witches hate the water the only way, she was able to go with us was she drank a special potion.

Finally, we made it to the building there was no door just a slate with pair of blood shot eyes looking at us. "what's your business here" a creepy voice came through the slate.

Master Ketia said where hunters of the dark. Which was a lie as he was a scholar class so to would max be and I was too young. As for Hailey she was a middleing nether dark or light. The man or woman behind the slate gave a sinister laugh but then said the carriages was out back.

We went around the corner and there was a carriage, black and gold it was quite big and at the back there was another seat" what was that for I loudly thought. "that's for a shooter yall need one" said a small hunched back little man, I thought did I really think out loud or did he read my mind.

That thought quickly subsided as max asked why we need shooter, the hunch back laughed and told us about lap laps; monstrous beasts they were two head horses with sharp teeth, dark soulless eyes and poisonous breath.

Since I was the only one with a ranged weapon I sat in the back, max and Hailey were inside and master Ketia was the driver. I did not have anything to worry about as max well Hailey was not his type and Hailey forged me and her rings out of pure love. In turn made some of hairs turn blondish brown it is hard to tell with different lighting.

The dirt road was bumpy and my skills with a bow were not great.my heart lurched as through the fog I heard and unholy sound then the sound of thunder coming towards us it was the lap laps out of there nostrils was clouds of green. They were quickly gaining on us about six in total. I took aim and released an arrow it felt slightly warm as the bolt of light passed them.

I keep missing each time my hand started to shake more. I took a deep breath and kiss my love ring for good luck. It seemed like time stood still as the arrow pierced the head of the pack as it let out a screech of pain and fell taking out the three to its left. That made the remaining tow very mad as they barged right at me I manged to get up to the roof trying very hard to steady myself as I took aim feeling a lot more confident I got rid of the remaining two with ease.

We just made into the village in time as the markets was about to close. Quickly I bought a coat as the gum was wearing off (it keeps you warm) I put on he cosy black coat and paid the wore down woman the right amount.

"lucky the empires agreed on a shared currency" max said happily 

"yeah" I said hugging Hailey, so I heated up quicker, after our embrace I looked around the village was ridiculously small with only a handful of houses and in the distance was a very ominous looking castle. The sun was setting, and the town crier yelled for everyone to get inside.me and the others went to an inn. The inn was dimly lit and the was a man and a woman behind the counter arguing. 

He slapped her and she ran away up stairs, already I despise this man as he said in a gruff voice that sometimes women need to be put in line. I looked at Hailey not even when she drugged me did, I want to hit her. I knew this was the only inn, so I dint start any thing as he showed us our rooms. 

Max and master Ketia got two separate rooms while me and Hailey got a room to ourselves. "how are we going to know were your mum is "I asked dreading the fact I must meet that vile woman again. 

"well that's his castle so best start there "Hailey said with a smile and changed to her nightdress. It was to cold for fun under the sheets, so we cuddled all through the night.
