Not Your Panther
Four years of hiding. Four years of disappearing. We risked our lives. I fought for the wrong people. We were told everything was right, but everything turned out to be going under the table. They were all gathering and making deals and promises behind our backs. They fooled us. We were the pawns in their chess game. They do not even know what “family” is.
How couldn’t we be the pawns? After all, everyone dies so the King lives. If the Queen, who’s considered the most powerful piece in the chess dies, it’s on the King to use everything he has to survive even if it means giving up on all the other pieces.
In my story, I’m the queen who had to fight, but in my case, I turned against my people. Not because I am a betrayal coward but because I believe in fairness. I believe that peace wins over evil. I don’t follow blindly.
In the mafia world, there is no mercy, but no one says anything about humanity. I never fought anyone because I wanted to, but because I was told to. I am the heiress of the Black Panther’s mafia, but I thought my father would be honest with me. I thought everything we did was a reaction to an action, not the reverse.
Now it’s time to come out of the shadows. It’s MY time to come rereign the lights...
