Chapter 9

"So, this thing contains the Flying Thunder God magic?"

It was already morning when I had finally gotten the chance to look at my last night's reward.

"I'm pretty sure this ain't a grimoire though, as Lady Dia told me about."

After all, it was probably already past midnight when Mom and I stopped out of exhaustion.

"This more looks like a scroll than a grimoire."

Well, it was mostly out of my consideration for Mom's well-being that we stopped though.

Because in the last moments, even a single whimper can no longer be heard from her...

"It says that I just have to open it and I can use the said magic right away--"

"Ughnn-- mhnn!"

I was only thinking out loud with the scroll in hand when Mom groaned and stirred awake.

"Good morning, Mom.", I greeted with a smile. "How was your sleep?"

She was sleeping on with her head resting on my belly-- her breasts pressing on my crotch.

"Haa-- ahmm, hmm, morning.", she responded with a smile. "My sleep? it was-- refreshing!"

Lifting her head after pushing herself up slightly, she looked at me with half-lidded eyes.

She did so but fell right back down afterward, hugging my waist tightly within her arms.

All the while, brushing her cheeks against my skin, with occasional kisses on my belly.

"Mhm, hahaha, what are you doing?", stifling a giggle, I asked her. "That feels ticklish!"

"Mnfufufu, is it now? But you seem to like it though-- then let me do it some more."

And she did just what she said, planting kisses all over my navel and down to my thighs.

"Seriously, Mom.", enduring the tickling feeling, I asked. "Isn't it about time we get up?"

However, my concern got stuck in my throat as she suddenly took me in her mouth again.

"Hamnn-- right, but before that, let's-- hmnchuu, make sure that we're on schedule-- hmnn!"

In the end, we spent almost half of the morning resuming where we left off last night...

"So, let me get this straight. You have something like a cheat that gives out rewards daily?"

Since Mom was currently incapacitated at the moment, I had to do grocery shopping myself.

"That's pretty much about it, Goddess. But only one reward per day though, nothing more."

So after taking care of my younger siblings and settling them, I went ahead with the errand.

"But still-- from the most mundane things to the most Godlike items, abilities, and magic."

However, unexpectedly, Lady Dia tagged along after finishing her conversation with Mom.

"Yeah, neat, isn't it? Look at me now, barely called an adventurer but I already have magic."

As for the content of their conversation, I don't know. They were pretty secretive about it...

"Neat? I call it absurd-- You know what? You shouldn't babble about it to just anyone."

Spluttering in disbelief, she inconspicuously leaned toward me and murmured hushedly.

"But you already know that, don't you?", she added. "More so, after knowing all this."

From what her expression showed, she was overwhelmed after finding out I now have magic.

It was her all over again, just like the moment she found out about my absurd growth rate.

Just as she got over the fact of my absurdities, the next moment, another one popped out.

Probably, the last straw that made her question her sanity at how absurd my existence was.

"How could I forget?", rolling my eyes, I replied impassively. "You kept reminding me about it."

And not in an occasional manner, but more exactly, daily. Every time I go off to the dungeon.

Although, I did find her worries unnecessary, at least for the time being, since I'm going solo.

And even if I did, I don't think I'd be having anyone soon for me to let in my kept secrets to.

"Good.", nodding imperatively, she concluded. "And I will continue to do so-- just to be sure."

Anyhow, we soon found ourselves in a packed filled bazaar for our daily necessity shopping.

"Right then, Goddess.", I asked. "I'll get the groceries while you get the other stuff needed?"

Thinking of getting things done more efficiently, I turned toward my Goddess and offered.

"A fine proposition.", nodding her head, she replied. "I'll get extra clothes for the children..."

"Come to think of it, from my prior dungeon dives, I didn't have any potions with me."

It was in the middle of the afternoon when I finally got a moment of free time for myself.

"Right, only if I'm talking to someone else-- other than you, I'd say it's pretty much suicidal."

And just as I had initially intended and been itching to try, I went out for some magic training.

"Well, it's not exactly cheap, isn't it? And I just don't think that I'd be needing it for now."

Coincidentally, Lady Dia knew a place other than the dungeon that I could use for training.

"But still, anything can happen inside the dungeon-- you know how treacherous it can be."

And so, with her in toe, we came upon an abandoned part of the city loitered with ruins...

"Right, Goddess. I'll be sure to bring some in my future dungeon endeavors-- happy now?"

"Yes, very.", rolling her eyes with a dismissing tone, she said. "Anyhow, get to it then."

Handing her back the vials of mind potions she had thoughtfully brought with us, I nodded.

"Okay!", I said with a hint of barely containable giddiness in my voice. "Here it goes."

Yet, almost immediately, as soon as I stood at a good distance away, I found myself clueless.

"Hmm?", seeing me seemingly in a daze, she couldn't help but ask. "What's wrong?"

She was frowning as she sat on a piece of rubble, looking at my unbearably sheepish face.

"Uh-- well.", embarrassingly scratching my cheek, I told her. "I don't exactly know how--"

"You don't know how to activate it? Right, there wasn't anything in the status sheet either."

As it turned out, magic, when it appears on one's status already has its corresponding chant.

"Yeah, but like I said, I know what it does.", with furrowed brows, I told her. "I just can't se--"

"Well, there wasn't anything written when it appeared in your status so, just think about it."

While I was mulling over the fact that I was pretty much no idea how to do it, she butted in.

"You see what I'm doing, right? That's what I'm exactly going on inside my mind right now."

"Now, you're just being silly. What I mean by that is, try activating it with your thoughts."

She was rolling her eyes at my seemingly stupid response, at least how she appeared to be.

"That's the thing, Goddess.", with a deep sigh, I told her. "What should I think about for it--"

Just as I was about to protest at her remark, I noticed hieroglyphic writings on my palm...

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
