"Why is your expression like that, Kim?" asked Viona surprised.
"Moreno Drigory? Will you work there?" Kimberly asked once again, seeking confirmation from her mother's words.
"Yes, why. Why are you asking with such an expression? Is there something strange?"
"Do you know who he is?" Kimberly asked.
"Yes, the richest man in town," replied Viona.
Kimberly frowned. Does her mother really don't know? Or are Elena's words just bullshit?
"Kimberly, if you have something to say. Say it now. Don't waste my time!"
"Oh, y-yes," said Kimberly.
"Say it quickly!"
"Emmmh...." Kimberly couldn't have told her mother about the mafia story. But he couldn't just let his mother walk into Moreno Drigory's house either.
"Kim?" Viona insisted.
"I want to come, Mom," Kimberly said spontaneously.
"Huh?" Viona frowned. "You're not joking, are you, Kim? I just applying for a job. Why do you want to come?"
"To give you support," Kimberly said.
"Oh, my God!"
"Please," Kimberly said with her face as sweet as possible.
Viona had hardly seen this facial expression from Kimberly since her husband's death. She just melted. When the daughter begged.
"Why do I have a daughter like you?" Viona said as she got into the car. Accompanied by Kimberly's footsteps following Viona.
****
Viona's car stopped in front of a luxury house. However, it looks like it's been neglected for a long time.
"Is this house inhabited by humans?" mumbled Viona.
"Mom, this is called classic style. If you use a calculator, it's not necessarily enough to calculate the value of this house," said Kimberly. Not only was Viona amazed to see this house. Kimberly was also amazed beyond play.
In the courtyard of this house alone, there is a fountain whose design is so unique. There is a statue of an eagle in the middle. From its beak comes water.
"I'm not going to spend money just to make a fountain in the yard. Why are we paying electricity and water bills just for this? It's ridiculous," Viona muttered.
Kimberly rolled her eyes. She felt her mother was very naughty. She wanted to get out of the car. Her hand had just tightened on the car door opening lever. Viona was holding her back.
"Just remember, you promised not to cause trouble. I will go inside, and you will wait in the car. Until me comes back," said Viona.
Kimberly just smiled at her mother's warning. "Okay."
viona quickly straightened her hair. She saw it in the glass. She doesn't wear makeup at all since becoming a widow. She is not at all passionate about improving her appearance.
"Hurry up, Mom!" Kimberly couldn't stand the sight of her mother staring at the mirror nervously.
"Okay, I'm ready. Kim, I hope I get a job here."
Viona immediately got out of the car. It was clear that this woman was nervous. Kimberly feels a little guilty about her mother having to work. But, isn't that the parent's duty? If only her father was still around.
Viona had managed to get into Moreno Drigory's mansion. After meeting the guard at the door. Before entering the courtyard of this house, they also had to pass several security officers in front. Truly a rich man's house.
Kimberly waited for her mother in the car, looking around the house. In a place of this size, there was absolutely no nearby noise. She only saw an empty scene like an uninhabited house.
Someone knocked on the car window. Kimberly, who was busy looking around, couldn't help but turn toward the sound. As soon as she turned around, shee took a deep breath.
"Why are you here?" The figure who knocked on the door turned out to be Nathan. She doesn't know where it came from. Suddenly, he just appeared.
"I accompanied my mother here," answered Kimberly, who only opened the window halfway.
"Your mother? Why did your mother come to a place like this?" asked Nathan.
"She said to apply for a job," Kimberly replied.
Nathan burst out laughing when she heard Kimberly's words. Of course, Kimberly was annoyed that Nathan laughed at her. She quickly closed the car window again.
Suddenly Nathan stopped laughing. He knocked again on the car window.
"Open!" Nathan ordered. Kimberly just let Nathan go, but the man was even more excited to knock on that car window. She had to open it again.
"Come out. Not in," Nathan ordered.
"I want to stay here," Kimberly replied.
"Listen to me. Or you'll regret it!"
Nathan's threat more or less had an effect on Kimberly. She still remembered Elena's words that Nathan was the son of a mafia.
Just happened to get out of the car. She walked over to Nathan. "What do you want now?" Kimberly asked.
***
Viona, who had just been let in by the guard at the door, looked very nervous when she entered the house.
"Gosh, am I in an era from the past? Why does everything here look so antique?" mumbled Viona.
"Mrs. Watson," someone greeted Viona from behind, which made her startle.
"Good grief!" Viona widened her eyes because Black suddenly appeared.
"I am sorry to surprise you. You came ten minutes early. Mr. Drigory isn't done with his schedule yet," said Black.
"Oh, it's okay. I really appreciate the time. That's why I came early," said Viona.
"Please come with me," said Black very politely.
Viona just followed where Black went. She didn't want to overthink. She just wants to work now and be able to provide for his daughter. That was all that was on her mind at the moment.
Black took Viona to a reasonably formal room. A work desk and some books are neatly arranged on the back shelf.
"Please wait on this couch. Mr. Drigory will be here soon," said Black.
"Oke, fine," said Viona. She looked around. It was still apparent that she was nervous. Her legs were hard to even stand still. Always shaking.
Black immediately left Viona. While alone, Viona looked around the room. Her eyes were drawn when she saw a huge family photo. A dashing, handsome man. But it looks so fierce. Standing together with a beautiful woman. Surprisingly, the woman's face was warm, contrasting with the figure beside her.
In the middle of these two stood two boys. One looks like a teenager. And one looks like a child.
"Is there something strange about that photo?" A burly man with a fierce face entered, startling Viona.
"Oh, I am sorry. I didn't say anything, Sir," said Viona as she stood up.
"Please sit down. I'm not asking you to stand up," said the man, who was none other than Mr. Drigory.
Viona looked at the man. Then she looked at the photo on the wall. "That is you?" Viona asked.
