I'm so dead

The weeks had gone by quickly, and exams were already around the corner.

Nari looked over at Auston seated elegantly in front of her. He was reading a book this time around - a sci-fi novel from the look of it.

Her shoulders dropped with a sigh. This was going to be her last lesson with Auston, meaning that she might not get the chance to be this close to him again, or get this much attention from him. She'd go back to having to admire him from a distance again.

The only consoling thought was the fact that she could always use Kim Minho as an excuse to be around him sometimes.

Over the weeks, she'd improved a lot. She was doing so well that it seemed possible for her to end the term with lots of A's and a few B's if she did well in her exams. Way better than her usual B's, C's and occasional D's.

She knew that she was an unserious student, but school was just too boring for her; she couldn't seem to focus. However, something about Auston just made her pay attention to him during their classes.

'But who wouldn't though when he's so good looking?', she mused. 'If only teachers could look half as good as that, then maybe passing exams wouldn't be so hard'.

Nari frowned as her gaze dropped onto the question paper on her desk. Auston had given her a short test to do but she really just wasn't in the mood for it.

How could she spend her last day with him taking a stupid test? They should at least do something fun, especially now that she'd gotten a lot better. It was their last day together for crying out loud.

She pouted her lips as she looked back up at Auston again. He was still frozen in place reading his book. And as she stared at him, her pout was soon replaced with a smile, a sudden thought coming to mind.

She quickly took out her pencil, and a little piece of paper, and began to sketch him.

'I'll just do this for a little while and go back to the test later', she thought. 'Damn his face is so perfect though', she internally marvelled.

She was grateful that Auston hardly ever moved. It made it easier for her to stare at him as much as she wanted without getting scared of being caught by him. Nari got so giddy and was happily sketching him that she soon lost track of time.

Auston glanced at his wrist watch and saw that only a few minutes was left before he'd have to stop the test. He rose his head and looked up at her to inform her that she had only a few minutes left, but he caught her staring at him instead.

He watched as her face turned a deeper shade of red as the seconds went by. 'Is she sick?', he wondered.

Nari, on the other hand, had put down her pencil a while ago, and just enjoyed staring at him. She got so distracted that she didn't even notice him glance at his watch, before suddenly lifting his face and meeting her eyes.

She instantly turned red out of embarrassment, he'd never caught her staring outright like this before. 'Oh my god Nari! What are you going to do!!!'

"Are you finished with your papers or do you need help?", she heard Auston ask. She'd never been more desperate to just fall into the ground and die right then.

She swallowed and slowly looked down at her papers and realized that she'd only been able to answer ten questions. She had barely touched her papers. 'I'm so dead'.

"So, do you?", Auston asked again. "Huh? Uhm yes...no wait I mean no!", she stuttered and Auston's eyebrows drew together in confusion. He dropped the book in his hands and stood to approach her.

'No don't come this way!'. Nari looked away from him and back down at her papers. Her eyes desperately searching them as if to will them to be answered. Her eyes halted in place as she came across the piece of paper where she had attempted to draw him.

Her heart palpitated farther on seeing that it was in plain view, 'Shit'. She wanted to put it away, but it was already too late. Auston was by her side now. Auston's right hand reached for her answer sheet and Nari struggled to remain calm.

"You only answered ten questions?", he asked, his voice betraying nothing and Nari only gulped. Auston was about to say more, when he spotted a piece of paper with a drawing by the side of the table. Intrigued, he stretched out his hand and picked it up.

Auston's eyebrows pulled together as he tried to decipher the image on the paper. Nari noticed his facial expression and couldn't help but think that Auston thought that she probably considered him a joke, doodling during his test like that.

"I-I-It's not what it looks like! I was just about to take the test I swear, but then I got a little distracted and_"

"What were you trying to draw?", Auston cut her off, and Nari nervously bit down on her lip. "Uhm it's....I was just...Mr Jang! It's Mr Jang", she answered finally since it was the first name that came to mind.

"You were trying to draw a human being?", Auston asked in disbelief. "I thought you were trying to draw some sort of cartoon or animal", he added next and Nari's embarrassment doubled. It was a good thing she'd lied then. She could only imagine how he would react being depicted as a disfigured creature when his face could make angels weep.

"How come I don't take you on any art lessons?", he asked next and Nari beamed with pride. "That's because I do really well in my art classes. I even get a lot of A's too_"

"You get A's?", Auston interrupted with wide eyes as he looked back and forth between the drawing and her. Finally realising what he was implying, her head whipped towards him.

"Hey what is that supposed to mean? I can't be that bad", she whined, her mortification reaching it's peak. And here she was thinking that he was actually impressed that she did well in a few classes.

The corner of Auston's lips lifted in amusement as he continued to stare at the drawing, and Nari immediately fell in a daze.

'Oh my god, did this ice prince just smile?!'. It was a slight smile, but still a sight to behold.

'This must be my punishment for getting distracted in his class, isn't it?', she thought gazing heavenward.

"Do you want me to show you how to do it properly?", Auston asked drawing Nari out of her head. Nari blinked unable to believe what he just said. This was the first time they ever had a real conversation without involving books or academics of any sort. "Y-Yeah. Sure", she replied trying her best to reign in her excitement.

Auston reached for a chair and sat down next to her. His posture still so perfect even as he turned to face her. "First of all, you've got to hold your pencil properly in a position that's comfortable", he started. "Once you've gotten a good hold on it, then....", Nari soon got carried away by his closeness and ended up staring at him instead.

He looked so much more surreal up close, that she had to blink severally to make sure she wasn't just seeing things. 'You know what, I take that back. Teachers shouldn't look this good or else we might end up failing even more by getting constantly distracted like this'.

She knew how much she struggled to focus on the board instead of his face sometimes. Now that she thought about it, the major reason she improved - aside from his good tutor skills - was because she didn't want to end up looking like an idiot in front of him.

She didn't want to disappoint him.

"There", Auston uttered, immediately pulling Nari back to the present. And when her eyes fell to his drawing, her jaw became unhinged, nearly falling to the floor.

"It's so beautiful! How are you so good?", she praised with twinkling eyes. It had only been a few minutes right?, it'd take her years before she could ever come close to drawing something like that.

"It's a hobby", she heard him reply and she shook her head violently. "No no, it's not just a hobby. This...this is a masterpiece. It's even better than some of the ones I've seen at exhibitions", she stated firmly.

Auston studied her for a while, "You can keep it if you like it that much", he said and Nari finally exploded. "Aaahh! thank you, thank you...gosh it's so pretty, so pretty that I_", the school bell rang loudly cutting her off.

At the sound of the bell, Auston nodded once at her before he stepped out of the classroom. Nari was left all alone now, and she finally let loose all her excitement. She squealed and jumped about the classroom.

'I really should get more distracted around him huh', she thought with a giggle.
