The First Practice of Defusing a Bomb

Nitte is indeed in Las Vegas with Jie Ai right now. They have already taken a day trip to the desert on a Jeep. The purpose of tourists renting a Jeep to the desert is supposed to be experiencing the ride in the vast land of sand. So, Jie Ai purposely speeds up, stops, turns, giving the Nitte an exciting joy ride.

"OK. That's good enough and exciting enough," Nitte stops Jie Ai, "Now, I just need you to drive as far you can, and as remote as you can." Nitte smiles, revealing sharp teeth.

Jie Ai then drives on. After finally finding a spot that does not look to have any tire tracks, they stop.

They both get off the Jeep. Nitte carefully takes a tin box out of her bag, and opens the box. She closes her eyes, seemingly speaking to Fox Fairy in her head. Jie Ai starts to mumble something in Chinese under his breath.

"What are you saying, actually?" Nitte asks.

"Just a few words to send the fox tail off to the fox fairy. I brought incense sticks for this occasion actually. Do you want me to burn some incense?"

"Wow, you are so nice! Sure!" Nitte then squats down, "Can you please turn around and not look at me?" She asks.

"OK." Jie Ai turns around.

After Jie Ai turns around, Nitte shapeshifts into a fox. She doesn't want Jie Ai to see when she is in the process of her changing forms. Even though, her shapeshifting is quite brief.

There is a reason that Nitte doesn't want Jie Ai to see her specifically. She doesn't mind if Jack Wolf sees her. But not Jie Ai. Fortunately, Jie Ai didn't ask her why.

Nitte begins to dig into the sand, which is difficult, because the sand would just keep slipping into the hole. She realizes she must use some liquid. She starts crying and let the tears drip on the sand.

"What's wrong?" Jie Ai is still facing the other way, but he hears Nitte crying.

"Nothing wrong, I'm just using my tears for the sand. Don't worry."

"Ah. There is a Chinese saying that describes a fox tear. It means fake tears. Kind of like the saying in English, crocodile tears." Jie Ai chuckles.

"The Chinese saying is very true. I am fake crying."

After the sand becomes somewhat moist, Nitte digs deeper and deeper. Finally, she puts the tail in.

"I hope you are at peace now, Fox Fairy." Nitte then begin to cover the tail with sand. She starts to feel new energy connecting her feet, then her leg, then her body, then her hands. She believes the Fox Fairy's power are complete in her now.

Jie Ai then inserts the sticks of incense into the complete tail grave.

"Well, thank you, Jie. Just so you know, we've got companies tonight."

"What do you mean?"

"Jack Wolf and Bob Tchaikovsky are here in Vegas. We should meet up with them. But let's surprise them." Nitte giggles as they walk back to the Jeep.

"So, you told them you and I are here?" Jie Ai seems a little disappointed.

"No. Jack found out about it and asked me. I didn't deny. But, I have a little game to play with them."

Nitte has texted Jack to tell him what hotel she and Jie Ai stay at. That, of course, made Jack very jealous. Nitte asked to meet by the Treasure Island themed outdoor theater outside Hotel Treasure Island at 8 o'clock.

When the time comes, only Jack is standing there waiting. Suddenly, he feels someone tapping his arm.

"Hello, you are here! Where is Bob? The pirate show is about to start!" Nitte says excitedly. She is wearing a peach color t-shirt with jeans shorts, showing off her long legs. She is wearing that roman strap sandals again.

Honestly, Jack is happy to see her again. But he needs to be serious with her.

"Cut the act, Nitte. I'm not here to watch this show with you," Jack says, "I want you to tell me what exactly you are doing with the glue thing. I found out that you've been secretly asking a chemistry teacher making you this weird gel thing."

"That's indigenous Navajo people's secret. Didn't you say you know a lot of Native Americans legends? You should know then. I don't want to have to tell you." Nitte says.

Suddenly, the Treasure Island show has started. Flame us rising from the water and there are gunshot sound effects. Actors jump out. Some tourists are making sounds in awe. Nitte turn around to watch the show.

"Nitte, this is serious. You already know Keith is trying set you up with murder. He put two bodies in my jurisdiction on purpose. Fortunately, Bob is recently promoted to a detective and he handled the case. Otherwise, other detectives would have been distracted by your bite marks, just tried to find DNA traces, and they would have your DNA on the victims. Then you would be the only suspect."

"Yeah, that's why I warned you and Bob that someone is framing me." Nitte turns to look at him. "Jack, don't worry now. One of my superpowers have become forever strong. I'm quite happy tonight."

"Seduction, huh?"

"Yes. Since I'm in a good mood, I might help you pick up your shapeshifting lesson from last time. You did spider. Do you want to try something else?"

"I just want to know what you are planning to do…. and I hope to protect you." Jack says.

Nitte looks at him, not saying anything.

"Come with me, let's go somewhere with less people," Jack takes Nitte's wrist.

Nitte immediately dips her head and bites Jack's hand.

"Ouch!" Jack yells.

Nitte laughs, "Cut the bull crap. You are here to take me to see Bob. And I bet someone else is also there waiting for me. I want to jump start your training. I've planted a timed bomb in Jie Ai backpack that he is carrying as he is walking around, waiting for me. This is just a practice of what will happen in the future. If you can save Jie Ai, then we can talk. I will then tell you more."

"Nitte!" Jack is stunned.

Nitte then backs away and walks off.

"What's the hurry. Don't go anywhere," Leif blocks Nitte. Bob is standing next to Leif as well.
