The Liu Family's Disgrace

"I'm finally back after seven long years" said a young man with silver hair wearing white robes which looked cheap but were clean.

The man was tall and imposing, sharp eye brows, a thin long nose and pale lips. He looked devilishly handsome and elegant even though he was wearing cheap and simple white robes. He gazed at the towering walls of the city in front of him, which were so long to the extent that it was impossible to see were they ended in the high clouds.

There were towering building and magnificent houses and manors in the city, almost as if it all came from a fantasy.

The city was filled with spiritual energy and had this ancient and holy aura which made those looking at it from afar feel they were insignificant to enter it's holyness. This was imperial Domain, the Capital city of the Immortal empire.

The young man named Gu Shang, looked at the magnificent city and gave a long sigh before entering the city almost as if he was being forced to enter.

The city was bustling as merchants and traders sold their things happily in the market, children running and playing with no restraint, old men sitting and playing chess and laughing joyously whiles the old women taught the girls embroidery.

inside the city was a perfect picture of what a utopia should be.

The young man smiled, " This is what we've been fighting for! it's all worth it!" the young man said feeling pleased about himself before roaming the capital city before stopping at a Manor which looked imposing, one glance at the building and you could tell this manor belonged to a military family because of the style of the manor.

Two guards clad in purple battle robes stood guard at the gate, Gu Shang approached the gate but was stopped by the guards who clasped their hands and asked " state your business here"

" Am here to see my wife is there any problem?" Gu Shang asked with his hands behind his back.

"Young man you must be lost, this is the Liu manor and our young miss is a widow, her husband died seven years ago in battle".

"Liu Feifei is my wife, and I know am not dead so how can she be a widow" Gu Shang said innocently. The guards were shocked before they broke out laughing.

The only reason they did not beat the young man standing in front of them to a pulp was because his aura was as boundless as the galaxy, their instinct as soldiers told them to not mess with the man in front of them, but they also could not take his bullcrap.

"Young man are you trying to create a scene here or what? how dare you utter such nonsense, if you are tired of living you could have hanged yourself or jumped of a bridge, but why have you chosen the most painful way out.

Our young miss is a cruel and unforgiven person, you.. making a mockery of her late husband would spell you a horrible death."

The silver haired young man rolled his eyes, and with just one leap he was already in the inner court of the manor.

Inside the Manor a girl with long black silky hair was practicing with a wooden sword in the inner courtyard, she was breathtakingly gorgeous with a body to die for.

She wore a crimson armor which revealed all her shapes making her even more beautiful especially her ample breast, the moment she felt the aura of another uninvited person in the courtyard, she turned backwards and slashed her sword toward the new intruder with no hesitation, but stopped the attack when she saw the silver haired man.

A gust of wind from the sword attack ruffled the young man robes and silver hair but he still stood there with his hands behind he's back smiling at Liu Feifei.

Liu Feifei expression within that short breath of time had gone through many changes before an angry expression took form.

"Why are you still alive? aren't you supposed to be dead? she asked coldly. Though she looked angry, it still could not hide her beauty.

"How can I die smoothly and leave such a beautiful wife like you behind to become a widow, even the lord's of the afterlife can't bear to see such an injustic.."

"Cut the bullshit" she interrupted coldly without giving Gu Shang the time to say more cringe words"

"No 6, I knew this won't work, my Feifei is just too cold" Gu Shang muttered underneath his breath.

Before he could say anything, the guards in the manor surrounded him and drew their sword towards him ready to cut him into pieces when the young miss gave the order.

Just then an old man with an imposing aura entered the inner courtyard, "who dares to be so bold as to trespass my Liu family manor show yourself" the old man said with a booming shout, but when he saw the silver haired young man, he rushed towards him and pushed the guards away.

" Gu Shang, it's that you? How come? " he bombarded the young man with so many questions.

"Grandpa I'm alive and kicking, I was only pronounced dead because I was taking part in a secret mission for the empire, and we all had to go off the grid." Gu Shang replied honestly.

The old man stroked his beard, he was a retired general and knew that such situations were not rear.

"What are you morons doing? sheath your swords, this is your young master show him some respect." They all bowed to him and shouted, " Welcome home young master".

Liu Feifei looked at Gu Shang coldly before living the inner courtyard.

"Gu Shang come with me to the grand hall, all the other members in the family are gathered there and would be thrilled to see you."

"No they won't" Said Gu Shang in his mind. He was aware of how everyone in the family hated him except the old general.

To the Liu family, he was the greatest form of disgrace they could ever be given. The marriage alliance between the Gu family and Liu family had existed since the birth of the heir of the Gu family.

At that time the Gu family were facing some problems and had formed this alliance willingly after the Liu family who were on the rise had helped them resolve their crises.

But after the injury of the old general in battle, their influence had disappeared almost instantaneously as it had appeared because they didn't have a strong foundation.

The Liu family had hoped that the Gu family would honor their words and form an alliance with them to help them get back on their feet, but at the final hour, they switched the groom with their bastard son and forced the marriage to go through without giving any face to the Liu family.

And to make the matter worse, they chased Gu Shang out of their family after the marriage.

The Liu family became a laughing stock in the capital after that, never to retain any form of dignity.

When Gu Shang entered the Hall, the place immediately fell silent as they all stared at Gu Shang in anger but quickly hid it when the old General entered.

They all feigned surprise and relief when they saw Gu Shang and swan around him to ask all sort of questions.

Gu Shang, we heard you were in the army, so what's your rank in the army? asked one of members sarcastically.

"Not much, am just the Grand General of the army".

The hall fell completely silent after those words were spoken.
