Ellis POV
I left Livy to her own company as she got dressed. There was still a bit of a cloud after my disappearing act, and I didn’t want to press my luck.
“Daddy!” Ken said, when I got back to the kitchen, his mouth was already full of delicious and expensive donuts.
“Hey, little man, leave some for Mommy, okay?”
“Okay!”
“Is she still mad?” Kevin asked as I returned to the den.
Knocked back a little by his bluntness, I searched for the right words. Kevin never ceased to amaze me.
“No, kiddo. I don't think she was mad, just scared. She didn’t know where we were and couldn’t call me to ask.”
“Because you left your phone in the car,” Kevin asked.
“Yes, that was silly of me,” I said.
“Silly, Daddy, silly Daddy,” Ken sang, hoping to join in the fun.
“No argument there, little buddy,” I said, messing his hair up and making him giggle.
