Chapter 7

The end of the ride was silent. Except for the occasional bickering of Jackson and Kaine and the silent laments of Luke about not being able to eat their food.

It took us about one hour and a half on horseback to arrive to the new facility. It was a ginormous underground bunker with loads of security. The only thing comforting me was the weight of the serum in my bag and my bow and my quiver safely strapped to my back.

"Sir, here are the children you wanted. Samantha Bracknel and the twins Sally and Luke Winston-Smith. There is also a new addition to the group. Her name is Tessa."

"And why should we trust this Tessa, we know her no Adam and no Eve. Where did you find her? Maybe we should just kick her out? Who knows?"

"Sir, she was turned into one of THEM she was inside their base so she knows where it is. She could bring us there and could be an asset. We need her and if you don't want here here think that you could save her life. People died today in the attack against the manor, Sam's half brother is an example. And he was only four. We need her to help us to stop all of this mess. Believe me." was Luke's very intelligent response. Actually I think that it is the only intelligent thing he said in all his years of living.

We could see that Luke had made a strong point as the officer was thinking deeply.

"And what will you do if we kick her out?" was his answer.

"You won't have this"was the only reply he had. I had taken out the serum.

Every officer or agent present looked astonished. They seemed to be restraining themselves not to take it.

"Where did you find this? How did you take it? How did you do it?"a tanned skinned man questioned eagerly.

"That's for us to know and you to find out! So what do you want boys?" said Sally maliciously.
