Memories of the Past - Part 1

-Jacob and Dyson sitting in Delamain and heading to Afterlife-

"So, this whole time you was obtaining informations just to tell me the truth?" Jacob said and looked at Dyson. "Indeed, It wasn't easy job but I found what I wanted to find." Dyson replied, "But why? Why all this for one low life nomad?" Jacob said with frustrated look on his face, "You know there is something like intuition, and I know you are a guy who can achieve big things here in Night City." Dyson said to Jacob but he was quiet, he clenched his fist and looked out from almost broken window.

It was long time that someone believed in him, except for his best friend Jesse. "Hey." Dyson said to Jacob. "I wanted to ask you this for long time and now I think is the best time." Dyson continued with talking, "What is it?" Jacob replied and looked at Dyson, "Well, I want to know how did you end up like this, you are nomad right? What happened?" Dyson asked, Jacob looked at ceiling and said "You want the long version or the short one?" "Tell me the long one." Dyson replied, "Alright." Jacob said. "It started six months ago, when our nomad family was passing around the Night City.

We needed to resupply some things and we needed to rest so we build a camp near the city in badlands. And then...."

-Six Months Ago-

*Badlands, Breakers Nomad Family Camp*

"Where is he?" Jacob asked quietly while looking for Jesse. After few minutes of looking for him he found him reading a book in the tent. "Hey, Jesse!" Jacob yelled at him while he was waving at him, as he was coming closer to Jesse he said, "Family head called out a meetingband everyone is just waiting for of you." "Give me a sec, It's getting interesting." Jesse said and still read the book, "Come on man they are waiting for us." Jacob said and crossed his arms, "Alright, alright I'm coming." Jesse closed the book he was reading and took it with him. Jacob looked at the book and asked, "Where did you get this shitty old book?" "Hey! It's not shitty, It's pretty good for how old it is." Jesse replied and showed him a book cover, on the cover was a title -Villain Will Destroy The Story- "It is a fantasy novel and it's really good you should try it." Jesse continued in talking, "Nah, I'm not interested in books." Jacob answered. Soon they were in middle of the camp where every member was waiting for their arrival, "Fuck, finally what were you doing did you masturbated together or what?" Sandra asked as soon as they came and everyone laughed.

"You are one to talk. Bitch that have aggression problems." Jesse said to Sandra and smile at her to provoke her. Well Sandra has an aggression problems so she took it seriously, "What did you said?" You long haired bitch, IM GONNA KILL YOU!" Sandra yelled at Jesse and pulled her gun out but other nomad members stopped her before she could do anything. "Enough of this! We are family not enemies." The family head said with loud and deep voice. "But Blade she was the one that started it!" Jesse yelled and pointed at Sandra, " I said enough, we need to discuss something important." Blade shout and everyone became quiet, "Now when everyone is here we can start. As you may know we are running out the supplies, so we need to do something about it as fast as possible. We also don't have any eddies so we can't buy anything. Are there any suggestions?" Blade, the head of the family said, all nomads were thinking about the solution. Then Sandra raised her hand and said, "Why we don't raid a convoy full of supplies?"

"That's high risk operation with small chances of success." Blade said with doubt, "It's hight risk, hight reward mission but I'm sure we can do pull it off." Sandra said, Blade looked at Aura the nomad family netrunner and asked, "Are there any convoys coming to Night City?" Aura searched everywhere, on web, NCPD database and lot more, "I found something, a convoy full of supplies, that convoy is taking off from Night City tomorrow and heading across whole America and then to Africa to help starving children. It's only chance because there isn't going to be any convoy with food for some time." Aura said to everyone in the camp, Blade wasn't happy about it and had doubts, but if they didn't want to starve themselves, they need to do it. "Who is escorting this convoy Aura?" Blade asked, "Militech." Aura replied.

"Fuck, we don't have any other option left so let's do it. Sandra you will be leader of this mission, Jacob and Jesse you will go with her and help her with anything she need, and then Sandra choose rest of your group yourself, we will meet tomorow before the mission start." Blade said and left while holding his head. It was obvious that Blade didn't liked this idea but they didn't had any other options left. Then everyone left except for Jacob, Jesse and Sandra. They need to discuss plan and who else will they add to their team.

-Next day-

Team which is going on the mision gathered on the same place as yesterday, team consists of ten nomads, head of the team Sandra, then main force Jesse and Jacob, netrunner Aura and six other nomads as support. Everyone from team was prepparing, then Blade came to check on them, "So how does it look?" Blade asked, "We are almost ready, we are just waiting for the convoy to move." Sandra replied then looked at Aura and asked, "When will it move?" "It's already on move, we have hour before it comes to designated position." Aura answered, Sandra loaded her hand gun and said, "Let's roll!" Before she could left Blade stopped her, "What kind of plan do you have?" He asked, but she just got in her car and said "If you came with us you would know, but you are just an old guy who likes sitting on his ass." Before he could even say anything to her, she was already gone, so Blade just sighned and returned to camp.

The plan was simple, Jacob and Jesse will plant a mine and EMP mine, when convoy cross the mines it will create an explosion and lot of mess, Sandra and other nomads will rush from behind to convoy while Aura will hack and disable rest of the defend system and Jacob with Jesse will rust them from front, they will took out rest of the personal and took the cargo that convoy was carring and then left.

Everyone and everything was on It's place, they just needed to wait. After sometime convoy was near their position, when convoy was cleary visible it consisted of three trucks and four heavy armored cars, when Jesse and Jacob saw it they thought that it's little wierd. After all they were only escorting just food, of course Jacob reported it to Sandra but she said to shut up and follow the plan. Then one truck and one car run over the mines making huge explosion which immediately destroyed the truck and a car, other vehicles stopped and then Sandra and other nomad rushed in, "FUCK THEM UP!" Sandra yelled while shooting to air.

Meanwhile Aura hacked remaining defend system and taking over convoy begins. Sandra and nomads were taking down Militech soldiers, but they were stronger that they thought, and almost all nomads died, then Jacob and Jesse joined, but Jacob didn't had any cyberware so he had just some revolver on the other he had. Jesse was better equiped than Jacob, with really good smart assault rifle and cyberware like, Heal on kill, Kereznikov, Optical camo and Smart link, so he struggled less than Jacob, but eventually they eliminate the Militech personal, as Militech they too had heavy casualties, eight nomads died while taking over of convoy.

Remainimg nomads as well Sandra, Jacob and Jesse opened one of the trucks. Inside weren't any food or water, there were guns, ammunition, gear and lot of other stuff, "What the fuck is this?" Jacob asked while he pointed on the cargo, he clearly saw that everyone was suprised, "So, eight of our people died for this? What we are going to do with this?" Jacob continued in his speaking, Jesse got an idea and said, "Why don't we sell it? We are near Night City anyway, so we should give it a try." "It's not bad Idea." Sandra agreed with Jesses plan, but one of the nomad said "But first we should talk about it with Blade." Sandra look at him like she is gonna kill him any second, but they agreed on it that they will talk with Blade before doing anything, Jesse called Aura and asked her to hack and disable the GPS so Militech won't track them down, and Aura did it, then they took both trucks and went to the camp. When Blade saw what they brought he was shocked and angry as well, he immediately called a meeting and within few minutes everyone was there.

"What the hell is that?!" Blade yelled and pointed on trucks, "Cargo was too big to move the cars so we took truck with the cargo instead." Jacob said calmly, but Blades anger just grew, "Too big?! It was just food and water!" Blade yelled, "It was not!" Jacob yelled at Blade, and blade was suprised, "The cargo was full of weapons, ammunition and gear, we didn't had any other choice." Jacob continued, after Jacob said that Blade cooled off a little, "And what are our loses?" Blade asked, "Eight people." Jacob replied, everyones expression changed but the one who was fucked up most was Blade, "What are we going to do with it now?" Blade asked, and Jesse replied " We can sell it in Night City." "And what if Militech want their weapons back? They will be on us." Blade said, "Then we don't have any other option but to sell it and leave before Militech will be on us." Jesse said, Blade was frustrated, he knew that he don't have any other option, he smashed the table and said, "Fuck. Alright then, Sandra and Jesse your main mission will be to find a buyer in Night City who will buy this weapons, ammunition and gear. Jacob and rest of the nomads will stay here and if something happen they can defent our camp. We have plans weapons now so take whatever you want. The meeting is over, you all know what to do." Blade said and left after his speech. Most of the nomads went to look for some weapons and Jacob as well, but Sandra and Jesse stayed and talked about something.

When Jacob came to trucks most of the nomads already had what they want, so Jacob looked for something he could use and found a grey jacket and sawed-off double-barreled shotgun, it didn't looked like a normal shotgun, it looked like it was made for someone, and on that shotgun was note and in that note was written, "Be carefull when you use it, you could lose a hand." And on the both sides of the weapom was engraved a 'Short Death'. Jacob was really suprised, but in some way he like it so he took both a jacket and shotgun and hide it in his stash.
