Hunter 2

After getting directions to Goblin Forest, he promised a Forest-Rat to a farmer in exchange for a few items he had. Opening up his menu, Jon felt satisfied to head out after seeing his new things. He didn't like Priestess Blessing giving him adverse effects, so he placed his extra point into WIS stat.

When he closed his stat menu, he found an option to open the current quest. He didn't see this option when the last time he was in the game. He opened the screen and showed him three quests.

Class Quest: Obtain a Monster Skill (In-progress)

NPC Quest: Return with a Forest-Rat for Farmer Dan (In-progress)

He closed his quest screen and left the village. Jon took the road southward and stayed on it until the way became just dirt and grass.

"Is this the end of this road?" Did the programmers get lazy?" asked Jon, but he gave up asking questions he wouldn't ever get answers. He continued southward until he found some wooden village off to the side, but it was burnt to ashes. It seemed like this was done weeks ago. Jon left the burnt site to keep going southward until he found a familiar tree.

Looking at the ground, he said, "This is where Dirknooth and I almost died to the Goblin King." Looking to his right, he knew the farm was in that direction. Slowing proceeding to the farm, Jon tried not to fall into any pitfalls that were dug. He finally came to the clearing were the destroyed barn laid, but what he saw was a sort of small wooden fort constructed. A tall figure stood on the wall watching as Jon approached.

Jon knew only one idiot in the game who wielded a shovel. The hobgoblin jumped down and landed in front of Jon. Dirknooth dropped his shovel and slammed his fist against his chest. "Welcome back, Jon."

"Hello, my friend. How have you been?" Jon said as he patted the hobgoblin on the back to tell him to ease up.

"Good. I avenged us by burning the goblin's base down."

Jon wondered how long has it been in the game since he had been gone. Dirknooth was now a hobgoblin, and he burnt down the Goblin King's base.

"How long have I been gone, Dirknooth?"

"Many days."

"Hmm…" Jon knew he wouldn't get any answers. He looked at Dirknooth and asked, "Would you like to party up again, my friend?"

"Of course," answered Dirknooth. He knew if he waited here, his ally would return for him. Jon sent him the party invite and the goblin joined his party once more. He looked at Dirknooth's stats and was amazed at how much he progressed.

"Thank you, Dirknooth. I see that shield on your back, when did you start using shields?"

"Dirknooth thought that Jon needed most was a shield by his side, not a sword."

Jon smiled at the giant orange-green-skinned creature. He was happy to have such a good friend in the game, even if it was just artificial intelligence. Jon opened his menu and realized, Blue was still in his party. He began his menu to look at it.
