"Sylvia, have you talked to Corbin?" Lina asked as she walked by Sylvia's side.
The women had come after finishing their vegetable shopping that evening. Walking on the street of Broughton, they watched the lazy evening around with people taking slow steps back to homes, stopping by to have small conversations and exchanging greetings with their fellow townspeople.
Sylvia was aware of the stolen glances in her way, yet she avoided paying much attention to them.
"No, I haven't."
"Hmm... I wonder why he is acting so strange lately." Lina adjusted the bag in her hand as she pouted.
Sylvia threw a sideways glance at Lina and asked cautiously. "Lina, are you mad at him? For how he yelled at you that day?"
"Mad at Corbin?" Lina laughed. "No, Sylvia. I have known Corbin since Mr. and Mrs. Addis brought him to live with them. We used to play together, grew together, shared toys, and he was my mother-in-law whenever we played home-making."
